I went in today after visting another bike shop on El Cajon Blvd that didn't even greet me, ask me if I needed help, or say goodbye when I walked out the door... and they were great.

Steve chatted with me about helmets, my old used bike I just bought, and offered to check out the clutch and rear brake needing adjusting, which I'll take him up on later this week.

Some cool used bikes for sale, small selection of gear, and friendly service, so I'll be back soon.

Great variety and superb flavors!

I love being able to have a delicious Chicken Especial Burrito, a variety of amazing fish taco choices, simple street tacos, or go healthy with a HealthMex burrito or a great choice of salads. Always something for everyone, even gluten-free options.

I haven't written a Yelp review in a bit, so I figured I'd kick it off with reviewing a strip club ;-)

I ended up at Sam's after a BlogWorld LA Friday night party, with 2 guy friends and 4 girl friends, we paid small change to skip the awful line out front (no cover, hence packed to the walls, hence a line).

So yes, it was packed to the walls, tons of guys, a few girls (non-strippers), and a crap ton of girls in bikinis dancing on stage, on tables, and some walking around being friendly.

The girls got attention and chatted with strippers, comparing boobs, grabbing boobs, etc. Quite fun.

Then we left, it really was too crowded, and Spearmint Rhino is like 4 blocks down... $20 cover, no alcohol (at some point, that's just fine), and not crowded at all. But that's another review... ;-)

Went for my GF to try the gluten-free pancakes, she said they are amazing. My breakfast was great, too.

Local Habit

The old Pizza Fusion is gone, no more franchise BS... Local Habit is a new name, new attitude, new menu, and killer drinks.

Great craft beer selection. Great organic pizzas and superb sandwiches. They also have house-made sodas, and the sambuca I had was amazing.

Tons of gluten-free and dairy-free options (including cheese!), and vegan options for my vegan friends.

I've seen some Blind Lady Ale House folks hating on Local Habit, figures, but I've been to both, and there's no way I'm waiting in line to order my stuff, I want to sit down and relax, and have them come to me. Servers are friendly and quick, if you need something, speak up, and they take care of you right away.

Bottom line is great service, superb food, and very friendly to those with intolerances/allergies/vegetarians/vegans!

The Lincoln Room is a great venue - a great new energy and crowd, Confidential was great but was like that hot girlfriend that while still hot, stopped doing those naughty things she used to do. Time for a change.

It's casual, good food, great happy hours, convenient location, and a cool upstairs loft with large booths.

Courtney and Gizelle were awesome, attentive, hot, awesome cocktail-serving partners in crime, and offered to be Facebook friends without hesitation.

Highly recommended you try it out.

Jolly good time, even without a beard, but some specifics are always appreciated...

Danny puts on a good event! I must attend more Elite events, noted, especially because I ran into Larah after our brief but memorable meeting at the ice luge houseparty a few Fourth of July's ago.

How about next Elite event we do an Eyes Wide Shut themed party at Boudoir?

Corner Cupcakes - CLOSED

Cupcakes are awesome, in general. Bite-sized deliciousness you can hold in your hand, share or not share, with just the right amount of frosting. It's hard not to love cupcakes.

Now take the whole concept of cupcake deliciousness, and make it mobile! A truck, filled with small nibbles of heaven, rolling around and being delivered to you at various locations. Wow.

I discovered Corner Cupcakes by chance one heavenly day on my way to the office from lunch, and behold, a truck with colorful balloons, and a cute smiling girl offering cupcakes for sale.

I bought like 6 of them, in a variety of flavors, and shared with my favorite people in my office (if you didn't get a cupcake, you're not a favorite, sorry. Bribe me more than you already are.)

Needless to say, these cupcakes are delish, especially the pink champagne with vanilla frosting. Sorry, I'm drooling now. Oh and the horchata with caramel frosting cupcake is amazing as well.

Find them on Twitter using @CornerCupcakes or find them on Facebook, and give them a try!

Pizza Fusion - CLOSED

Update - 2/10/2011
This guy comes up to me outside of Flashback, and says he recognizes me, that I'm Yelp Elite, and he has a review of Pizza Fusion that he wants me to write for him, since he doesn't have access to a computer too often.

I stare at him, and something in his eyes gives me the sense that I should listen to his story, and boy am I glad I did.

Now, while I do stand behind the 5 star rating, because I've been here quite a few times, hosted events here, and know that this is the real deal as far as quality pizza and wine, especially the sangria goes...

He tells me he went in near closing time, had no money to buy any food, but walked into the men's bathroom, and proceeded to finish up the crack he had left. He then got naked, laid on the cold tile floor, and had some amazing lucid dreams as he glanced through the pile of porn magazines he had in his backpack. Once he was able to walk again, he opens the door and realized that Pizza Fusion is now closed - and he had the place all to himself. He was so happy - he found a computer in the upstairs office, and became overwhelmingly excited - he hunted down the shortening, took a handful, and went to town on himself while browsing some of the most perverted web sites he could Google.

This went on for some time, he said, and his only regret was being caught in somewhat of a literal sense "red-handed", from all the rubbing, by the morning shift manager, who proceeded to yell at him, and in shock, told him to get the f*ck out, instead of calling the police.

Well, he says he tried to explain his situation and offer thanks, but he decided getting out of there was vital to his personal safety, and so wanted me to Yelp about the great time he had at Pizza Fusion, his 5 star rating, but that he won't be back anytime soon, and that the speakers on the computer weren't working, sadly.

The store manager managed to disinfect the bathroom and office properly, twice, and I hear was very impressed with the web browser history timeline he discovered, not to mention the variety of magazines left behind in the bathroom.

(Everyone at Pizza Fusion had a good laugh over the incident, and Barry and I agreed that a Yelp review of the whole thing is quite the story to share. P.S. Just kidding about meeting the guy, but all the details of the incident are from the extensive forensic details gathered after the fact.)

WTH? How have I not written a review of Pizza Fusion, one of my *favorite* spots in the whole wide world? I wrote one for Which Which, right next door?! Well, this fixes that.

    Pizza Fusion is awesome.

    Why? Because I said so.

You want more substance than my word? Ok, fine, maybe you don't know me that well. First, they have awesome, fresh, delicious pizza. They have gluten-free options. They have vegetarian and vegan options. Two kinds of soy cheese. Superb breadsticks! Great wine. They serve beer, that I've heard is great, but I don't drink beer. They have the best root beer (sometimes on draft!!!).  Oh, gluten-free but full of deliciousness brownies, that I order to pick up more times than I care to admit.

Oh, and they are about as *green* as they can be, seriously. The whole place was designed to be green. Talk to Barry about it, he's got tons of info.

Which reminds me, they have friendly staff, and they go out of their way to take care of you.

So, give them a try, especially if you're hungry, or gluten-intolerant, or vegetarian/vegan, or appreciate a green restaurant. Which includes everyone. Except mean people - are you mean? If so then don't go. Eat at McDonalds, where you belong. ;-)
