Large portions and a large table go hand in hand? We were seated in their extended indoor/outdoor addition that I kid you not had what looked like a park bench for each seat. Unlike Baldie's in Union City you definitely feel like you're in Fremont, there is no escaping it being right next to a busy street and bright lights from the corner gas station providing the ambience. Reminiscent of a truck stop diner, the food was underwhelming yet filling. The highlight of the meal was the onion rings which were surprisingly good and heavy on the batter, fried to golden perfection the way they should always be prepared.
There's no better place to order breakfast than a throwback diner and Baldie's nailed it head on. It's surprisingly charming inside after realizing the parking lot it is in is shared with a 7 eleven and liquor store. It's very unassuming from the street. Once inside you'll forget you're even in Union City. I've dined there now a number of times but I've got to say my favorite thus far is their country biscuits and gravy, it's heart warmingly delicious and filled with nostalgia. I highly recommend you give them a chance!

After reading all the yelp reviews raving about their sandwiches I had to try their spicy chicken sandwich on herb focaccia for lunch. I'm pleased to say they did not let me down and it was a great sandwich. The caesar salad was a little on the mustardy side but it complimented the sandwich well. As others have pointed out it's not so much a spicy sandwich as it is a spiced sandwich, but done quite well and flavorful.
Excellent Mongolian Beef! possibly the best I have ever had.
The portions are huge, I couldn't believe the size of the Orange Chicken. Most places give you what amounts to "giblets" or "popcorn" chicken sapped in syrup. To my delight they had the perfect balance of large meaty pieces of chicken with just the right amount of sweetness.
I had takeout so I'll have to checkout the restaurant the next time I'm in Van Nuys. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area or just passing through, you can't miss!
