What does the last straw look like? Y'know, the one that broke the camel's back, the one that pushed me over the edge?
Six dollars.
They give out a cheap-quality plastic debit card, and when it falls apart after normal use over a year before the expiration date -- *I* have to pay a $6 card replacement fee.
That's what did it. Not the notary who didn't know what he was doing. Not the stinky rehab bums or yelling Jerry Springer types I get sandwiched between in line. Not the circa 1998 online banking website.
Not the supervisor who yelled at me in front of everyone about "Gucci boots and champagne lunches" when I tried to get a student loan for grad school (y'all know how much I love buying those Gucci boots, y'know, when I wasn't using my credit cards to help support a partner with cancer).
No, it was the six dollars.

I've been seeing Donna Brown for about six years. I won't let anyone else touch my hair. She does *exactly* what I ask when I ask, and offers good advice when I can't decide (bangs, no bangs? aie!). She's never steered me wrong. Unlike countless other styletards trying to cut my asslong locks super-short. Right.
I've seen Donna's color work on my friends and it's superb as well.

My doctor wanted a baseline mammogram so we have a picture of health for any later comparative assessments. A fine idea.
And so I found myself bleary-eyed, sipping coffee in a toasty warm spa robe at 7:00 one recent morning. In an attempt to save sick time at work I took the earliest appointment possible, so the quiet spa atmosphere and caffeinated beverage kiosk was very much appreciated.
Also very much appreciated: the professional and warm manner of all the staff, the modern yet non-hospitaly facility (until you've had medical services in an environment that is nothing like a middle school cafeteria, it's hard to understand what an amazing difference it makes), and the speed of the services. Although I had no reason to worry, it was still very nice to know quickly that for certain nothing was wrong.
The mammogram itself was uncomfortable (not painful) but that's the nature of the beast. The technician did a great job explaining what was going on, and working efficiently so we could limit the discomfort (but not so quickly she might make a mistake that required a re-do).
So, that was that. I'll need another mammo at some point -- hopefully always on a check-up rather than illness basis -- and I'll definitely come here.
