My favorite barbecue, hands-down. And I have tried it all over the country. My whole family have been a huge fans since this was just a little walk up stand in the 70's on our way to Newport News. This is the real-deal, sweet sauce with a  hint of vinegar, not added as an afterthought but cooked in it in the big pits out back. A little hard to get to, but more than worth the effort.

Simply the most extensive menu you may ever see in any eatery. A funky, retro setting with every square inch of wall covered with menu items and mementos. Had the cheddar burger, about the size of a sea turtle head. And a righteous canolli. Both excellent.

An unabashedly great Pastrami & Swiss on Rye. Best in town, hands-down.

The rest of the comments below coalesce into "about right". It's a small place, and we went on NCAA night so there was an enthusiastic group watching their teams go to dances they had not been to in millennia.

The service was not bad, and we were in no hurry anyway, so just chill and enjoy a cold cerveza and wait a couple extra minutes for a sandwich that is totally worth the wait and trip.

What is especially nice about Moz is their happy-hour meal specials.

From 4-6pm, they have 5 entrees for $10 each, including a very nice steak, pork chop and my personal fave, blackened Mahi. Served with rice and veggies this is a hard deal to pass up.

Add a $3 Stella draft with it and you have a big-time meal for a fraction of the usual cost, all in a gorgeous atmosphere.

The outside seating upstairs is especially nice, and the place is jumping with live music after 9 pm.

I am giving this "$$" for the happy hour, but be aware that after that it goes to "$$$".

At the risk of revealing a best-kept secret, I am putting in a plug for one of my top faves in Laguna. This is the place the locals eat. The food is great and reasonably priced.

The other reviews below do a great job of describing it and I would add that there is a free parking lot in the back if you are early/brave/lucky. It has at least a dozen spaces and despite their request for local construction workers to not park there, is usually filled with pickup trucks.

The burgers are on par with your best burgers anywhere. The breakfasts are dependable and tasty. The atmosphere is old Laguna. Check egos at the door and don't forget to tip the hard-working wait-people.

Remember, this is breakfast and lunch only, closing by early afternoon. Weekends, you can expect a wait.

This was my default coffee shop when I lived in Dana Point. Love it.

Has all the right qualities: great coffee, WiFi, dog-friendly, friendly staff, even a drive thru.

Glad to see they have survived despite Starbucks opening a block away.

Then again, Starbucks will open across the street from another Starbucks.

Update - 1/25/2011
Just dropped in on my fave Patisserie, and to my surprise the owner remembered me and thanked me for the Yelp six months ago, adding that it really spiked his business.

He taught me something as well, having really jumped into Yelp with mucho gusto after my pointing it out to him. It turns out that if you own/operate the place being Yelped, you can control the posts.

He said he had gone to a business here in town that was just awful, and intended to make note of that on Yelp, only to find that there were only 3 listings for this particular business, all good. He posted anyway, a less than flattering review, and it was gone within 3 days.

Caveat Yelptor.

Like the other responders noted, very hard to find but one of the best-kept secrets in Laguna. This was a fave place when I lived in Laguna and I am happy to see that Ron is still here and the quality of his products are as stellar as ever.

Quite simply the best bear-claw (and all the other things others said) you will find anywhere, much less Orange County.

Link goes to pic of bear-claw, along with with a few others in shop, including Ron, the owner.

Occasionally, you catch a break and get a reliable mechanic with integrity who won't upsell you or take you for a ride on unneeded repairs.

Today I got one of these breaks at Bitterling's.

Not only did they take me in right away, they diagnosed and fixed both problems for way less than I had anticipated.

On top of that, they couldn't be nicer guys.

These are the kinds of mechanics you want to hang on to for a lifetime.

Just awesome. A diverse and amazing assortment of high-quality, healthy foods from virtually every major nationality. Great-looking vegetables and fruit and too many other things to list. A must-see in San Diego.
