Great venue, imaginative dishes (although they ran out of the sushi, boooo) and a great collection of people.

The shiatsu massage was a nice touch, unfortunately my guy was not very good at it and I barely felt anything :( Should have asked him to go harder and deeper (insert your sex joke here).

Great job Damien and to the peeps at Red Lantern!

My husband and I grabbed some breakfast here before we headed over to the farmer's market and was really impressed! I had a frozen mocha and it had a strong coffee flavor but also had a great chocolate flavor.

We both got our own bagel sandwiches and they were excellent! I had mine on a pumpernickel bagel and hubby had his on an onion bagel and we were both impressed with the fresh ingredients and the soft and chewy bagel.

They also do frequent customer cards for both their sandwiches and their drinks.

I was really impressed with the Orleans FM when we visiting on 4th of July weekend. They have everything from fresh produce, locally made jams, jellies and mustards, to honey wax candles and even fresh catnip! I think they even occasionally have fresh fresh and meat. Amazing right?

Be sure to hit it up early though! We ended up going around 10:30AM and even then many vendors were running low.

The farmer's market runs from May to November on Saturdays from 8AM until Noon. Be sure to check them out!

Now that I don't have to teach on Thursday's, I've finally been able to check out the Brookline Farmer's Market in Coolidge Corner. And HOT DAMN is it amazing!!

The BFM is one of the larger farmer's markets I've seen, and you can find pretty much anything there, from fresh fruits and veggies, to fresh bread (I love you Clear Flour) to even cheeses and meats. What I love the most is that the meat vendors take credit cards! Some vendors at other markets do NOT, which is annoying, because meat is clearly more expensive then buying veggies at the market so I appreciate it when they have that payment option.

There is also an ICE CREAM TRUCK there. And it's not the run-of-the-mill ice cream truck, with the annoying jingle. An honest to goodness ice cream truck, with local ice cream (from Marlborough I believe) and it is amazing and tasty and CHEAP!

They even have a little area in the back for sitting and watching the day go by.

Important note for you dog owners out there; they do have a sign posted that no dogs are allowed so leave your pup at home!

While Pinkberry is at the bottom of my fro-yo trifecta (Chill & Berryline being at the top obvs) their salted caramel is something that I'm pretty sure was sent down by Jesus himself.

I love watching them click the salt on top.

"Please sir, may I have some more?"

There seem to ALWAYS be a line out the door, but it's all worth it just for that elixir of salted caramel.

My favorite farmer's market by far considering it is 2.5 seconds away from my office. I can get a delicious lunch, buy some produce for the week, grab a loaf of bread, maybe a few sweets, and this year they've added meat, eggs and cheese vendors! Talk about heaven

Oh, and I may or may have not gotten a ginormous cup of cherry vanilla ice cream for ONLY $3.00. Which is excellent to have when it is 90 degrees outside.

I bought a gigantic bunch of mint today for $2.00. OUTRAGEOUS!

Support your local food movement by buying at farmer's markets!!! YUM!

I'm so happy I've finally had the chance to check out the Neighborhood.

The portions are HUGE and an amazing deal for the price. The specials are great and they include a fruit plate or cream of wheat, orange juice and coffee. I got the Portuguese plate which came with cod cake, meat cake, shrimp cake, linguica, 2 eggs, rice and beans, homefries and toast. Oh my lordy was that a lot of food and it was all delicious! And for only $12.99. WHAT?!?

They don't take reservations, but I like that they leave out coffee and snacks for the people that are waiting. The patio is where it's at and a great way to have a delicious meal on a great day!

Now to go back for dinner!

Joanne Chang is my hero. I bow to the sticky bun altar.

It's VERY dangerous that I'm a 5-7 minute walk away from Flour. It's physically impossible for me to go into Flour and not get dessert. I dare you to try it yourself. Whether it's the homemade oreos, or the chocolate chip macaroons, or the unholy sticky sticky bun, the array of sweets is impossible to ignore.

And the food is awesome as well. The specials of the day are many and they are creative and they taste fresh.

You WILL wait for a VERY long time during the lunch rush. But it's worth it. And I give major props to the employees, because they are always nice no matter how busy it is.

They also offer CLASSES here. I was VERY VERY lucky to be able to attend a class taught by Joanne Chang myself. It was like the happiest day ever for me. We learned how to make puff pastry and croissants and it was so much fun! Joanne Chang is a sweetheart and you can tell she really loves what she does.

Basically, Flour can do no wrong in my book.

I've taken a couple of classes at the BCAE (cooking/baking only) and I'm happy to say I've learned A TON from all the classes I've taken. I don't consider myself a novice chef/baker but I still was able to learn a few tricks and shortcuts that I didn't know before.

I haven't tried any other classes beside ones that are food related, but if the quality is the same as the food classes, then I will definitely try them out!
