Nice place, reminds me of a good mid-range restaurant in San Francisco, but with fresh local food. Lively, casual atmosphere, good for families and groups. Good beer selection. Staff was very polite and helpful. highly recommended.

A totally serviceable buritto shop. Much better than la caretta. In the early days , the menu was similar, but sometime recently they switched to a newer selection of goods. Their burittos aren't going to beat papalote or anything, but they will hit the spot. Especially their cochinita pibil. Yum.

i review this place not as a grocery store, but as a glorified lunch counter. they gots a salad bar, a deli with a rotating menu and ready to go meals in the fridge case, too. paninis, burgers, lasagna, even ribs sometimes. you can usually pick up a good entree and a side salad for under $10 and it's probably going to be way better than most of the other lunch options in this area. if they added a taco bar, i'd marry it.

They carry raw (albeit frozen) mochi cakes. that is good enough for me.

The Aloha Hostel. I stayed here for a couple of nights back in 2002 when I was in Paris. It wasn't too bad, but not too awesome, either. From what I remember, the common areas were kind of lacking, and the social aspect of the place wasn't too strong. It was affordable and easy to get to from the metro, though. One thing that stands out in my memory about this place is that the showers were horrible; like a closet that had been converted into a shower stall. I would hope that they would have done something about that after all these years.

man, go for the carnitas alone. chunks of perfectly crispy on the outside, nice and tender on the inside pork goodness. plus, the salsas and homemade tortillas that come with it are excellent. so good.

they also have this thing here called the pambazo, which is basically a torta that has been dipped in picante sauce. kind of like a wet-style sandwich. i'm not sure if you are supposed to eat it with your hands or not, so i just cut it up and eat it with a fork. a little odd, but very tasty.

High West Distillery & Saloon

Park City, Utah, is an odd place to have a whiskey distillery, for sure, but it's nice to see that they still know how to do it right. Among all of the high priced, fancy-schmancy restaurants in this town, High West also holds its own in the food department, too. I think it delivered higher on the price-per-value scale, which is saying lot considering the prices for just about everything else in this town.

I stopped in here with a couple of friends and sat in the bar area. We ordered just from the "small plates" menu, but I have the feeling that anyone with a simple (i.e. not western-sized) appetite would probably be fine eating any of these dishes as a main course. The tri-tip plate was great, and the bison goulash was particularly well received. The smoked salmon was good, but was not very smoked, more like it was poached. Still, we were happy with it. Paired with an order of the diagonal whiskey flights (the most economical way to sample both the 16 and 21 year whiskeys), it made for a great light dinner. Highly recommended.

uttapams! dosas! at damn good prices! this is definitely a step up from naan and chutney. i just stopped by for the first time today and had a nice uttapam for lunch. service was a little slow, but they were pretty busy, more so than i've ever seen it's predecessor for a late lunch. the service was friendlier, too. the dosas, from the looks of other people's dishes, are quite large. think i will have to try that next time. i predict this place is going to get quite popular, so enjoy the low prices while they last!
