So I am not really understanding the bad reviews here but hey, everyone is entitled.  I would say this is a departure from my other normal dim sum spots in terms of the size and decor and the fact that its inside of a mall. But so is the new food court.. gotta go with the flow.  Everything is fresh and you will see dishes that you don't elsewhere besides the usual staples.  It is pricier than other dim sum spots, but they have to get the money somewhere for all the disco columns they have going on around the hall. HA! And it;s a big place so we have yet to have to wait. I am going again and again.  Try and stop me.

I did not eat here, so this is not about the food.  More so about the decor and the fact they have NZ wine, which will get me every time even if there were no hot surfer bartenders, fish tank, tons of sand on the floor and surfing boards all over the ceiling.  You get a feeling you are on vacation and not in Brooklyn.  I've been eying this place since I have first started going to Sea down the block but never made it.  Well what a uber mistake.  Love it.

I came here Saturday night with a friend.  I was told it was good.  I never need a push when a friend says a place is good, even when it means I am eating Italian which is not usually my go to first choice.  Well let me tell you.  The service was super friendly and funny, our dishes superbly prepared.  I had the special of the day.. which I will drive from my house to BK just to get it again, I was told I should call ahead LOL.. to see if they have it:   Butternut Squash ravioli.  I cannot even explain to you how this dish tasted.  It had it all. Well made pasta, fresh ingredients, it was on the sweeter side but I love that so I basically wanted to order one to go.  My friend had Mini Ai Funghi mushrooms, portobello mushrooms, bufala mozzarella and arugola.personal size pizza's - huge and very well made.  Their house wine was good and went well with the food.  And we were allowed to hang out after they closed, meaning no one was rushing us out the door.  Which I was very happy about.  And their desert - "La Bomba " was ice cream encrusted in chocolate covering.. and well it was very filling and two people can easily split it as it comes already quartered.  Still thinking about this meal.. so yes. GREAT.

So besides it closes at 9 pm.. yeah I know but its financial district.  This is my staple when I go to the Russian Baths next door. I actually rush myself out of there a 830 so I can make this meal.  In all honesty there is not much around there at night.  But the fried chive pancakes and duck soup in dark chicken broth are your way to feeling good.  Skip the mango sticky rice.. something doesn't work in this dish for me though I order it every time.  habits.. ah.  They do have wine in small bottles.. so that's a plus.  Good service.

Update - 4/4/2012
I am going to re-yelp about this, because it's simply that good! also the name can be confusing.. say on line you can find it under Gu-Shine but if you look at the menu and I believe even the awning outside it says Ku-Shiang, well it would not be fun if you did not go around chinatown and wondered where, why, and why again.  Anyhow I went after an Indian festival covered in colors in mid may.. yes I am so late on my reviews. kill me now. ... and I had and thus YOU HAVE TO HAVE:
-Bean Curd vegetable soup - so simple and so good.
-Beef in Sa-Cha Sauce - super delish. I won't say more than that
-Shrimp w/scrambled eggs - wait did she just say that? yes i did. total comfort food. I am still dreaming about it.  Again very simple but to the point and hits every spot in your body.
-Fried Chicken w. salt and pepper - this is the ultimate snack food, it's crunchy, fresh, tasty, and well seasoned.  If you love fried chicken you will be in heaven twice over. and if not. give it to me.
Really.. joy joy joy.

Went here last night after swimming and ice skating all day.  Total hole in a wall.. so if my friend didnt recommend I would probably never notice it.  we had the basil chicken casserole and wonton soup.. amazing!  Will definitely go back and try other dishes.  The special for $15 for two dishes and soup for two people is what I am going to do next time!

This is 3 stars because though it was busy it was swimming with servers and it took forever to just get water and the really delicious passion fruit juice drink, which by the way I enjoy much more with water than milk and you are given a choice.  My kind of deal.  Water, every time.  I would say if you see the majority of eaters being Mexican you know you got yourself a most likely an authentic spot. Over all if you got an afternoon that you can would like to spend munching on delicious Mexican everything.. than.. I say do it.  It does get crowded.. so come between lunch and dinner.. though that's when we were there on a Saturday and it was crowded.  And the price is right too.  I must go back and try more items on the menu.

15 party for a lunch.  This is a family owned and ran restaurant and it shows. The wife of the owner came to say hello  and I thought that was a good touch. Food was not spectacular but it was very fresh and I enjoyed the ingredients especially in the simple yet very tasty salad we all had.  I would definitely recommend this for a large party event.

I've first came to this small albeit friendly and neighborhood restaurant in 2009 after Holi celebration which happens in RIchmond Hill every year, though they call it Paghwah.  It is a coincidence that I ended up here again with a friend for a catch up dinner as we both craved Indian the night before Pagwah parade.  The service is very friendly and attentive, which I can't always say about Indian restaurants after they have convinced you to come in.  But that's only in Mahhattan now that I think of it.  I have always had really good service in Indian restaurants in Queens.  Food takes a bit to come out and the naan was burnt a bit.  But over all a pleasant experience, the place is clean and cute and full with locals..I almost felt like I traveled across the sea to the land of Majarastas. It was quite loud but we made due.  Also one minus is that you have to order your rice if you want it, it doesn't come with the meal.  Bottom line, good food for a great price in a clean and friendly environment.  I'm ok with that.

Had lunch here. I always try the same "pho tai" at all pho places where I go.  This was not my favorite broth.  Service is a tad slow and next to two places that do a great job with pho.. so this might be like their small sister.  Potential but needs a revamp.

so on the somewhat new quest for great wine bars in NYC I decided to try this one.  I do adore that it's just walking distance from my office and so it creates perfect opportunity for a Monday evening sit down when you don't want travel far for something good.  The set up is old jazz club meets pizzeria with low lighting and it's pretty endearing if you asked me.  I felt right at home, though could have done without the table rocking, but I have gotten used to that I always get the rocking table.  It is a small place but their menu is not and so we had fun making choices.  Also for the fact that these are small plates.. very good sizes and very well priced.
we had:
-Panino con Maiale alla Milanese - this had a nice presentation and a flavor that eventually kicked in and was surprising after you wrote it off as underseasoned.
-Orecchiette con Radicchio e Pancetta - this was easily my favorite dish of the meal, everything about it worked and so I stole it from my friend.
Sea scalop salad- the ingredients were fresh, the scallops however had something missing.. it was uninteresting and bland, disappointing a bit but the rest of the meal made up for it.
The service was good, though at times slow and the waitress, well let's just say you could tell she was Italian.  Sometimes the bit of attitude is quite inviting we enjoyed her "on top of my game" attitude.
