Dear Publix,

You are actually my parent's Publix, so I usually stop by here when heading to see the fam.  :)

You are a nice, big store, with a nice variety of organic items.  There's a rather large floral section with anything from cut flowers to living plants, and more.  It's perfect for picking up a little something on the way!

The bakery and deli have super sweet staff, who are helpful and efficient.  Whether it's a cake or a sandwich, I can always get what I need quickly.  You also have a pharmacy, which is nice & convenient, since my local Publix doesn't.

Overall, a great "Poobli", as my family would say in Spanglish.  ;-)

See you soon,
SabrinaAnna*

Dear State of Mind,

I first discovered you at Fairchild Garden's Orchid Festival, which was held early in March.  You have beautiful hypertufa pots, as well as gorgeous ceramic wall hanging flower pot things.  Everything you do is handmade with tons of love and passion, and it shows in the craftsmanship of your work.

We ended up buying a few hypertufas during the Orchid show, which we quickly put to use.  Not long after, I found myself wanting more hypertufa pots.  Luckily, we had your business card and gave you a call.  Coordinating with you to pick up some new additions was simple, and we met soon after.  I am so glad we've met you and are now "regular" customers!

It's a pleasure to work with your products.  Thank you for making these wonderful and beautiful planters!  They are definitely a beautiful addition to our garden.

All the best to you!

Love,
SabrinaAnna*

Dear Southernmost Cafe,

I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed eating here!  The girls and i had been bike riding all day, and were starting to run out of steam.  Knowing we needed to eat, and in search of some authentic Key West seafood, we found you and had our hopes up high.  Let me just say how glad I was that you did not disappoint!  :)  Yay!!  We satisfied all of our desires AND then some!  You even are located on a public beach, where we were able to lay out afterwards, and enjoy a little fun in the sun.

We all started with drinks, and let me just say some amazing ones at that.  I opted for a pina coldada with Meyers dark rum, which has now become the only way I'll drink those.  SO delish and just so full of alcohol.  I can't lie, that one drink was all I needed for the afternoon.  :)

We started with the Cafe Ceviche which was out of this world!  The fish was all local and extremely fresh, and that made this the BEST ceviche I've had ever!  We also chose to share some BLT mahi-mahi wraps, which were also amazing.  We couldn't even find room for dessert, but we had another round of drinks and headed to the sand to enjoy the sun.

This was a great lunch experience!  We loved the beach and enjoyed watching a wedding that took place around sunset on your sands.  What a wonderful afternoon we spent with you!

Thank you for all the fond memories.

Hugs & kisses,
SabrinaAnna*

Dear Pier 1 Imports,

I have loved you since I was just a little girl, visiting your store with my Mom.  Those memories are quite fond and I still have some items from way back when.  :)

I hate to say this, but I have lived down here for almost 4 years and this was the first time I visited this store.  I have no excuse.  I don't even know what to say.  :-\  Anyhoo, I digress.  I came here in search of some materials for my newest hobby, terrarium making!  So I came to see what items you might have to inspire my creative side.  Luckily, I found some amazing rocks for my work.

This store is pretty large, and the clerks were helpful.  When we first arrived, however, no one seemed to be around.  Eventually I did find someone I could ask questions.  There were a couple of different clearance rack areas, which I always peruse in hopes of finding that perfect item at that perfect price.  No such luck on this occasion, but that definitely will not stop me from always searching here first.  ;-)

There are still some very classic items for purchase with new touches, such as the Papasan chairs (SO comfy!) and some furniture pieces.  I love that you always have a section of some very unique items for kids as well.  Also, there was a wonderful mother's Day display with some great bath & body items.

Thanks for everything Pier 1!  So grateful you are so close.  I promise to frequent more often.

All the best,
SabrinaAnna*

Dear Palms Hotel,

WOW, I love you!  I came here with my girlfriends for a "girls weekend" this February.  We found you on accident, originally Google-mapping Duval Street, and finding you very close by.  From now on, all my trip to Key West will include staying here!

This bed & breakfast is just CHARMING and perfect.  Quiet, clean and comfortable is what your motto should be, because this is what you are.  You also have that perfect Key West appeal, which is what makes you so cozy.

The breakfast area is by the pool and is set up as a bar.  It's a little more upscale than a normal continental breakfast, and it's great for getting to know the other guests.  Everyone seems to come down for breakfast every morning without fail.  :)  The rooms are nice and quaint, with Spanish tile floors and colorful decorations.  My only complaint is the mattress I slept on...  I don't know what was worse, the hardness or the squeaking when I moved...  :-\  But the rest was so perfect, I was able to get over my un-comfortableness.

The price was worth our stay here, and I was glad we found you.  There are bikes to rent by the day for $10 which we totally took advantage of.  I was very grateful you offered this service.  Also, the reception staff was very knowledgeable on what to do and where to go, which was nice.

Looking forward to coming by with my fiance and having a romantic Key West weekend.  Until next time...

Love Always,
SabrinaAnna*

Dear Richard Lyons Nursery,

What an absolute pleasure it is to come here!  :)  The nursery is beautiful and full of many exotic & native species of flowering and edible plants & trees.  It's almost like being in a jungle or rain forest, except that it is right here in our backyard!  The property is just stunning, I will say.  There are just so many plants and trees everywhere, and everything always seems to be blooming.

I've met Richard, himself, as well as a gentleman named Steve, who toured us around the nursery on our first visit.  Both were a pleasure to meet and speak with, so I thank you for your hospitality and knowledge.  Richard, you've been in the business a long time, and from our conversation, it seems you know everything about all of the plants you have.  I was intrigued and thrilled to learn about your property and how you got started in your own backyard.

Your nursery is located in the Redlands on a relatively large property.  It is actually so big, that you usually will lend us a golf-cart so we can comfortably take our time looking at everything.  The prices are pretty reasonable, compared to other places we frequent, and the quality of your plants is superb.  We've only had 1 plant die of all the ones we've purchased, and I'm convinced it was our own fault.

The best time to come seems to be during the week on an off day, however, we come on the weekends and have not experienced any issues.  Sometimes you are packed on a Saturday, but that's understandable.

So far, this seems to be my favorite nursery to enrich my garden from.  So much variety and so much care from the owner and staff.  How can anyone go wrong here?!

I hope all the readers enjoy this place as much as my love and I do.  Just spend some time here and you will see!

Until next time,
SabrinaAnna*

Holistic Primary Care

Dear Holistic Primary Care,

Wow, am I glad I won an excuse to get to know you!!  A couple of months ago, I won a gift certificate for an intake evaluation exam and had almost forgotten completely about it.  But just last Monday, I grabbed the envelope and took it with me to work.  Luckily I did because it was going to expire a week later.  This gave me the push I needed to finally make an appointment and see what you were all about.

I went in a couple days ago and still feel this sense of relaxation I have not had in a long time.  The first time I went was only about 2 weeks ago, so in just 2 sessions, I am already feeling like a different person!  So for that, I will give a special Thank You shout-out to Dorothy, who's the doctor I work with.  :)

On the initial visit, I was first asked to fill out paperwork, medical history questionnaires, demographics, etc., which is standard for any kind of doctor office- holistic or western.  Your office is clean and organized, and feels very much like being at home, warm and inviting.  It's a small office and only 2 doctors.  There's Dorothy, who concentrates on the acupuncture medicine and treatments, Donald, who specializes in Sports Injuries/Medicine, and even Gracie, your office mascot: a beautiful, large, black dog that is sweet as pie and just chills on the floor.  I liked that Dorothy took time to talk to me after reviewing all of the paperwork, asking questions and analyzing so that we could determine what to work on first and what goals I want to accomplish with treatment.

Next, came the fun part - the acupuncture needles!  There are a couple different therapy rooms, and the one I have been to is a nice, light blue color, which is very relaxing, and has nice low-lighting and a radio playing nice "spa"-type music (nature sounds, relaxing melodies, etc.).  I laid down on the bed and she just looked over me and then would put in the needles ever-so-effortlessly, wherever she felt she needed to activate a point.  Before I knew it, I was a semi-porcupine and she left me alone to relax and enjoy the music and the quiet time.

As a side note:  The office is located within a Condo building in South Beach, so every once in a while I would hear construction noises or water flushing through the pipes, but it actually didn't bother me.  The music was at a good level where those other background noises were barely noticeable.

After about 20 or so minutes (maybe longer?  I was half asleep and lost track of time) Dorothy quietly came back in and turned on one of the soft lights; then she proceeded to remove the needles from their various locations.  We then discussed some different supplements and Chinese herbs and she gave me a couple samples to try, and I bought some other items as well.

I bought a package of sessions, which I found to be reasonably priced (each session costs the same as what I would pay a Specialist under my health/medical insurance plan), and have already used 1.  Looking forward to returning next week!  I am definitely feeling better and seeing the different results of goals we are trying to achieve.

See you very soon!  Thanks for the positive changes.

Happy & Relaxed,
SabrinaAnna*

Dear Wynwood Green,

I give you an A for effort!  What a great idea and neat concept to have an Eco-friendly, "green" initiative event in an otherwise unused grassy lot in west Wynwood.  You hold your event the last Sunday of every month, with today being your inaugural event.

Although the turnout was not as large as I imagined, there were quite a few vendors, a couple food trucks, and a good vibe going on in general.  I even scored some organic, natural dog treats from a mobile pet grooming service.  :)

Overall, an eco-friendly, family-friendly, educational gathering, good for spending an hour or 2.  Glad I stopped by and looking forward to seeing what the future events bring.

Good luck to you guys!!  :)

Best wishes,
SabrinaAnna*

Dear 7-11,

A lifesaver for multiple reasons in one adventurous night, I am grateful that you are located in the HEART of Miami, litteraly.  You are at the 0-0 intersection: Miami Ave. & Flagler St!

An American staple for years, 7-11 you are the reason that midnight munchies exist and thrive, that microwaveable burritos and cherry slurpees are consumed by the tons, and that buying cigarettes and beer is so convenient.  But on this occassion, not only did we pick up beer, but other necessary items like snacks, Tylenol, and water.

For the masses: this location is pretty clean, although there was a giant puddle of puke when we walked outside (was it there when we walked in and didn't see it?!).  A smaller store than normal and not the largest of selection of products (I swear I couldn't find Doritos), but it will do.

So thank you for being the convenient store of all convenient stores.  You provide America, and in this case MIAMI, with all of the random, late-night necessities one can think of.

Til the next late-nite Downtown adventure,
SabrinaAnna*
