Stoplight Deli

I'm not too familiar with Aiken, but there seemed to be a lot of small coffee shops and whatnot in the area. Tempted by the free wi-fi and the glowing reviews here on Yelp, I decided to give Stoplight a try.

Not really knowing what to order, I decided to go for one of their specialty sandwiches: the Stoplight Sub. I chose wisely. It was a pretty good-sized sandwich that was absolutely delicious. Paired with a bowl of sliced apples, I'm one happy camper.

Definitely give this place a shot. It's well worth it.

Azteca Maya's staff is very attentive and friendly. Everytime I eat there, I feel like I'm among friends. Conveniently located at the front of the Ivy Falls Plantation neighborhood and just moments from Bartram Trail and Patriots Park, Azteca Maya offers up excellent food at great prices.  I highly recommend them. You've got to try the Nachos Machos and I hear their new Torta Mexican sandwich is most excellent.

Excellent place to grab a beer after work or coffee during the day. The coffee's excellent. Full bar. Free wifi was faster than what work had. Highly recommend Metro.

Giuseppe's Pizza & Italian Specialities

As Corrie said, Giuseppe's is one of the best pizza places in Augusta. The lunch buffet is excellent. Their pizza is second to none. My wife and I usually don't dine in. Rather, we call in our order and pick it up from their convenient drive-up window.

Delta Sandwich Shoppe

I'll get right to it: Delta serves the best hamburger in Augusta, hands down. A friend invited me to lunch there last year and we've been coming back at least 2-3 times a month ever since. The burgers are hearty portions, but I'll warn you... after you finish a single, you'll wish you had ordered a double.

Some important things to note if you've never been:
- They're cash only.
- They're open Monday through Friday, from 11am-2pm.
- Call ahead your order if you can't spend at least an hour there.

The Cotton Patch is a great place to eat in downtown Augusta. Located just moments from the Savannah River/Riverfront ... the Cotton Patch offers up a wide-range of menu items (American cuisine). It's conveniently located near the Augusta Common (which features free Wi-Fi access, and within walking distance of most of the downtown area.

PROS:
* Full bar.
* Live music some nights.
* Pretty diverse menu.
* Daily specials.

CONS:
* Lunch crowd is pretty heavy from time to time, and it can take a while for you to get your food.

TIPS:
* For lunch, try to get there around 11:30a to beat the lunch crowds.
* Seat yourself - indoors or out.

Somewhere In Augusta

Somewhere in Augusta is first and foremost a bar, but don't let that stop you from going there. They have some of the best "bar" food to be had in the CSRA.

They have some of *the best* chicken wings I've ever had. Seriously, the Cajun-seasoned wings are awesome, and that's just one of 20+ flavors they have available. Their menu is very well rounded with burgers, chicken, shrimp, salads, wraps, and more.

I typically go to Somewhere in Augusta for lunch. The lunch crowd is typically fairly light, so you can get a seat right away.

Blue Sky Kitchen

I frequent Blue Sky Kitchen often, seeing as it's right across the street from my office (and it's a favorite of many of my coworkers).

I go there for two things: the Blue Sky Burger and the Jerk Chicken Sandwich. Both are *excellent*. I haven't tried much else, but I hear the Redneck Stir-fry is pretty good, as is the Korean Beef.

If you're looking for something a little different, that's not going to put a huge dent in your wallet, I'd definitely give Blue Sky a try.
