Hmm. Extremely large selection of burgers with slight variations. You can sub any variation with a veggie or turkey burger though, so that's a plus. And they have sweet potato fries! The "most popular" raspberry lime rickey was like a shirley temple with a squeeze of lime, not anything to write home about. Laid back atmosphere, pretty decent prices. Cash only!! I had the Drew Faust. Good size, garlic mayo was a nice touch. I might go back, it's low maintenance and cheapish. Maybe I'll try a famous frappe next time...

Meh. They allow such a large group of people in each tour, that I couldn't see the host. The host talked about how the beer was made, gave some history, tried to keep everyone's mind off of the beer they were looking forward to consuming. They passed around some hops and barley to taste or smell, which was kind of cool. After that, the group went into a cafeteria to sit down and await the pitchers. They only allowed a taste of three different beers. I like the setting, but I just really wanted to taste some beer. I think Harpoon may be a better option for me.

I'm a big fan. They always have some great beers on draft. The service is good, laid back. Atmosphere is totally chill, loud music always playing. Kind of a hipster scene, but not pretentious. The menu has vegan options, which is appreciated. The vegan chili is great, served with tortilla chips. Great portions sizes too! Every Monday night is movie night, when they project a film on a big screen over the kitchen area. Best place to sit is upstairs. This is a favorite place to hang out late night.

Mmmmmm. Pumpkin ice cream. This place has a fantastic selection of ice cream, hard and soft yogurts and lactose free ice cream. Seasonal flavors are a total hit and they have coffee and smoothies as well. It's kind of pricey, but I can't complain. It's Newbury Street and the small size is more than enough! Way better than Coldstone. I'll be back to try all the exciting flavors.

I was taken here for dinner, being told it was a Boston staple, having been there since 1882. The Guinness was great. I ordered the classic reuben (excellent, deserves to be a classic) with perfectly crispy sweet potato fries and was quite satisfied. The service was lacking, very impersonal and slow. It's a fun, slightly kitschy atmosphere. Diner food, paper placemats, etc. If you want a good sandwich and fries with a frosty brew, this is a good place to go. I think I might sit at the bar next time though.

I'm giving Trident 3 stars because of the pleasant atmosphere. They have a good selection of books and magazines, and always have a bunch of books on sale. But their cafe, in my experience, is quite lacking. I had a wrap, which was the most pathetic looking sandwich I've ever seen. I'm not sure if there was anything in there but mayo. The waitress forgot our appetizer order and messed up my order the first time around. The sweet potato fries were soggy and didn't come with the dipping sauces it was advertised with. The service was horrible and the food was overpriced for what it was. I think from now on, I might just stick to beverages.

I went here on Halloween and there was a line out the door. That seemed to be a good sign that this place is worth the wait. I was a little wary of the fact that they advertised Rachel Ray came here on her "$40 a day" show...anyways, this place is tiny. And service is....not the best part of the experience. Our appetizer orders were screamed to the kitchen as soon as they escaped our mouths.  They have great vegetarian options, the pumpkin tortellini is to die for. I had the gnocci special and I must say, it was like eating heavenly potato marshmallows in tomato sauce. Wine list is short and inexpensive. Portions are large enough to feed three people. Whatever they lack in service, they make up for in grub.

I went here on the basis that it received Best of Boston 2008 and it seemed pretty hip, usually a sign for me that the stylists are young and informed of the current styles and techniques. I went to Nicole for a one-process color, something darker. She was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable. And she offered me something to drink, which was great. She sped up the color processing time by putting my head under a steamer so it only took 15 minutes! The color came out beautifully and she offered to save the formula in the computer system so I can come back to her and she'll know exactly what I need! Yay! I was happy enough with my experience here to consider returning for a haircut. Two downsides-they charge an extra $12 for a blow-dry so you may want to just walk home wet. And you have to leave a credit card number to make an appointment and if you cancel less than 24 hours before your appointment, they charge 50% of the scheduled service to your card. Which I suppose is a security measure against flaky people.

I like this place because they have great beer and it has style. The servers weren't particularly friendly on this Friday night I went, but I'm willing to forgive them simply because it's hard to work in a bar on Friday night. I didn't try the food, but I'm sure I will be back. The specials have names like, "tomato f*ing soup". haha, good stuff. I'll be back. It's quite small so I'll probably choose to go on a weeknight so I can have room to sit at the bar. Cash only!!

I went here to get a new haircut because I just moved to Boston and wanted a new look. I made an appointment with Blu at random. When I got there, I talked to the stylist about my hair type (fine) and that I just wanted some sideswept bangs and layers. Even after this discussion, she chopped off so much of the weight of my hair, it just flies everywhere. There is so much maintenance involved in this haircut. It doesn't lay right (as a good cut should) and she proceeded to blow it out so big I felt self conscious walking down the street. She didn't take into account my personal style at all. I was looking forward to a "new haircut" exhilaration but I felt nothing of the kind. bummer. Also, they don't accept tips by credit card so be sure to bring cash!
