My second time eating here. This year with friends who all enjoyed wonderful meals from amazing home made soups and biscuits, to fresh grilled salmon, swordfish, burgers and sandwiches. The service was great - a little slow but no one was in a hurry, the restaurant was extremely busy. The waiter was very knowledgeable offering us amazing special cocktails, appetizers and entrees. We also decided on having desert, I had the apple pie with get this, cheddar cheese ice cream! It was an amazing paring, my friends questioned the cheese but i told them its a common thing in New England to service a wedge of cheddar cheese with apple pie. They also served us fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies with amazing fresh milk from a local dairy with "cream" atop the milk. A great meal, a new tradition started.

A new find and definitely a destination on my travels home from New York. If you've read my past reviews you know my love for Diners. This is another great find, with great food, service and atmosphere. Its located right off Route 95 at exit 60 in CT. So much better than those "rest areas" with generic fast food. This is truly a rest stop.
A "MUST" stop on my visits to New York. Thankfully my friends almost always oblige my wishes, Great food, great atmosphere, great service. A neighborhood gem, you name it, you have to stop in here, its worth a detour if your driving through the New York area.
In keeping with the healthy rivalry between Boston and New York, this is something New York wins hands down, the diner. They may have originally been built in Worcester, MA but NY has kept this Americana icon alive and well. The Landmark Diner located on the north shore of Long Island is alive and well kicking out amazing dishes from their kitchen to their "double decker" dining rooms. If you find yourself in the tri-state area, you must take the time so stop in here. Their deserts piled high welcome you on entering, their staff are amazingly helpful and very friendly. And the food, the food is just amazing!
The ladies who work behind the counter are wicked nice. The owner runs a tight ship and gets people through the line quickly. This is a REAL DELI - the bread selection is amazing as are the creative sandwiches. They give you a lot of food for the money. I like to treat myself to lunch here when I'm working from my Marlboro office. The deli is located right on route 20 in Northboro. If you're in the area its well worth the trip. And they give you a free pickle with each sandwich!

I had dinner here with a bunch of friends on Saturday Night. We had been out all evening shooting at the USS Constitution and looking for a place to have dinner. This is a very nice restaurant but they have to TURN UP THE LIGHTS. We were forced to use our mobile phones to read the menu! Aside from that, our waitress was Awesome - great personality and very attentive to our needs. We had fried Calamari as an appetizer and a variety of entrees. All were very happy with their choices. Menu prices were very reasonable. AND they had Guinness on tap! If you're in Charlestown or visiting the Navy Yard, this is a great restaurant.
This is a great neighborhood restaurant. Although located on the waterfront in Plymouth its in the boatyard so tourists probably won't find it. The menu is very creative. I had dinner here with 8 friends on Friday night. We arrived late but the wait staff were very welcoming and attentive to our parties needs. A variety of appetizers, entrees and deserts were ordered as we all had different interests due to the late hour. They also served Sam Adams Pumpkin Ale which was served in a tall pilsner glass with the rim dipped in cinnamon! It was awesome! My burger was served with truffle dipped french fries - amazing. I would recommend and plan to return.

Located in the Gaslamp District, this restaurant has outdoor seating which I made use of. It was a quite night so I was able to talk a little with the waiter. Turns out he was from Massachusetts not to far from the town I grew up in. The food was average - I am spoiled with great Italian food in Boston and NYC. At the recommendation of my waiter I ordered the Penne with Sausage in a blush sauce rather then the white sauce. It was good but lacked something - perhaps some roasted vegetables. Also the lighting on their outdoor seating was very limited making it difficult to see my food or read the menu.

Given the location, the Seaport Village, you would think this is just another tourist trap. Its worth walking down to the waterfront. The food was great with a nice variety. I ordered the fish and chips. The fist was fresh but the portion was small. I should have written down what my friends had I know one had a salad. I recall both enjoying their meal. They make great Margaritas. If you've read some of my other reviews from San Diego you probably see a trend with my Margaritas but they are so good in San Diego. The view is top - overlooking the San Diego harbor. Great for groups or for a nice evening out. I would return on my next visit.

Mixon Liquor and Deli

At first glance you might walk by if you didn't know this was also a deli, there is a liquor store in front. The staff are friendly and even if there is a line they get you though quickly. Its across the street from my San Diego office so convenience played a factor in my choosing this deli. The food is great but nothing like the deli's back in Boston and NYC. The bread was okay. Overall the food was good and there is a great variety.
