CBS Scene is leaning heavily on its atmosphere and location.  Located with a view of Gillette Stadium, I'm sure this place will be a desirable location during a sporting event.  My recent visit was rather disappointing.  I made reservations using http://opentable.com (great free service).  On arrival a party of six took the full attention of the Maitre D' and three other staff while making up their mind if they would wait five minutes for a table.  Their decision took longer than the anticipated wait.  It was unfortunate the Maitre D' couldn't multitask a little.  When we were acknowledged, we were promptly seated; unfortunately it took more than 10 minutes for the waitress to acknowledge us by apologizing and walking away.  Another 5 and she returned to take our drink order.  The food was good.  Atmosphere is fun and lively.  Food arrived and everything was cook and delivered as ordered.  But the service is lacking.  It was rather annoying to have someone keep a look-out for our waitress for drink refills.  This is not my first time at the restaurant.  They just don't seem to get the need for service.  I wonder how many repeat customers they have.

French Memories - walk into this French bakery and the smells will make you want to try everything.  "Son incroyable!" We are so fortunate to have this bakery on the south shore.  Their breads and rolls are the best.  The hard crusts and soft centers - it's hard not to sneak a roll on your way home. The assortments of tortes - from the fruit to the chocolate - are true masterpiece.  If you are entertaining and want something special - you have to come here.  I live about 20 minutes from the bakery - it's well worth the trip.

I happened by this store about 10 years ago by luck.  I've gone back here each year for much of my Christmas Shopping and even for some other occasions like birthdays.  The people working in this store are some of the nicest people you will encounter.  The items in the store are of an eclectic variety but top quality.  The setting is in an old company store and each visit is like an adventure as the merchandise is always changing.  It is a must stop if you are on your way to/from the cape.  It's right off the cranberry highway.   You won't be sorry if you stop.  One caution if you park on the road, - especially if you have kids, look both ways as the locals tend to speed and don't tend to yield for pedestrians.

I recently visited restaurant for the first time.  There was a large party going on in one of the rooms BUT the service was great.  The Lucky Dawg has risen from the old Hoseys.  As another reviewer stated, the owners have put a lot of effort into the new place.  It's friendly and "local".  During the day you can definitely feel comfortable brining your family.  The menu is pub food.  The service is good and there is plenty of flat panel TVs to watch sporting events.  Our waitress recommended the fried pickles. You have to try them. Lucky Dawg offer takeout off the full menu.  There is an ice cream walk up but I think it's seasonal.  Also there are picnic tables out back for the warmer months if you want to eat outside.

Not your ordinary Chinese restaurant!  This is quite a step above the "number 9 special".  And as for "no substitutions", this restaurant is extremely accommodating.  Tonight I had dinner with friends a party of 10.  The waitress recommended to us we try the PF Chang Limousine.  This was a great idea and we were very pleased.  The restaurant delivered an assortment of appetizers and main course dishes. They were all timed to come out allowing us to enjoy each others company.  One of my friends daughters has celiac (a wheat allergy).  PF Chang's has a number of appetizers, main courses and even a desert to meet this dietary need.
The service was extremely attentive.  The food was excellent, tasteful, well presented.  I like to call this "clean Chinese food".  What I mean is everything is fresh and cooked to order.  If you are in the Theatre district definitely plan to have dinner here before your play.  If you're in the back bay there is a restaurant at the Pru and if you're in metro west, there is a restaurant at the Natick Collection where I've dinned a few times for lunch - equally pleased.

I recently had a problem with my camera just before leaving for a trip.  I really needed my camera fixed.  I called C & J Camera and explained my problem.  There was dust on the image sensor and I needed it cleaned.  As always, Carol was pleasant and told me to bring the camera in.  I dropped it off when the opened.  I received a call a few hours later.  Carol had cleaned the camera and to be sure, took a few test shots.  She did a fantastic job and saved my trip.  This store has been in Hanson for many years. I highly recommend this store and the services they provide.  I called a few other camera stores near my office all told me they would need a week or couldn't promise anything.

Dairy Twist is the "Best" ice cream on the south shore!  Quality and Quantity here,  There are so many flavors and toppings to choose from.  As my family and friends know, I love vanilla.  I think its the best way to tell if the ice cream is really good.  Both hard and soft server here.  There are often long lines and I would recommend bug spray if its a late night.  Well worth the wait and well worth the drive if you're not from the area.  Parking can be tricky and lighting is limited around the cars so use caution with the kids.

As the Phantom Gourmet would say ' A hidden jewel" and well worth the drive!

Flowerland Home & Garden:  This garden center offers great value and the staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable.  Walking the grounds offers inspiration for your home garden.  There are many greenhouses you can walk through each offering different varieties of plants and flowers.  One in particular has a beautiful water garden.  Inside the main building you will find tons of garden tools and accessories.  Also you will find Smith and Hawken outdoor furniture and accessories - a lot closer than driving to the Derby St. shop in Hingham.   This is a great place to come if you are looking for a special gift any time of year.

Hafta Havit - This is a great gift shop.  What brings me back is the help from the staff.  Especially if you come in looking for a gift.  The items are high quality and there selection is huge.  There are items inside as well as outside including many things for a garden or yard.  Pricing is fair and quality is high.  A great place to browse on a rainy day.  I do not recommend little kids as this place is "packed" with merchandise.

Dimitri's Pizza - "Consistent" - what more can you ask for from a local pizza shop.  I've been going here for way too many years and I have the waistline to prove it!  This family owned-run pizza shop is fantastic!  The staff is friendly and always greets you with a smile.  If you like Greek style pizza, you have to come here.  My favorite pizza is the "Extra Special" which I order without anchovies.  The crust comes out of their ovens crispy.  This pizza has it all, fresh mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, onions, peppers, mushrooms, hamburger, pepperoni, and sausage.  Not overdone - just the right amount of toppings.  They also have a killer Steak-bomb sub which you can have toasted. The shop is situated directly across from Oldham Pond; you can walk across the road and sit by the water.
