Favorite lunch place in the U-District period. I'm all for a vegan buffet with such a variety of fare prepared spot on. Don't miss the rice pudding dessert if you hit up their lunch buffet.

A favorite chill hang out shot on the hill. Plus the name's pretty rad!

Drinks come quite strong here.

Not horrible. But not at all interesting. Nothing *feels* fresh here.

The Victrolas on Capitol Hill are my favorite spots to get a coffee in Seattle. Their drip is always fresh french press (and as of now you get one free refill! score). The baristas are typically very warm and some remember my drink etc etc. Sometimes it can get a bit crowded at the 15th Ave location, but to me thats a good thing because they have plenty of space that they use wisely for seating! The wifi can be a pain (I do web work so I sometimes go to get some work done), but that's not the main attraction. Many of the employees seem to have a passion for great coffee. The art changes frequently and gets a lot of attention from customers, I enjoy the space. They stock lots of yummy treats and I have to control myself from getting a mighty-o doughnut every time I go in! I think there may also be a vegan sandwich, but I am not sure on that one...

Bonus point for the owner not being a drunk driver!

Taco Del Mar

Meh. I've experienced MUCH better. First, the employees have NEVER been friendly to me. They always seem like I'm bothering them. Second, it's almost $6 for a pretty lame vegan burrito? Why should I pay as much as someone getting a ton of gross taco del mar meat? Third, they advertise a 10% off student discount but come to find out it doesn't apply to any of their burritos... umm you're a burrito place! At least put a notice on it instead of letting customers assume they can get a discount until after they've ordered a burrito that they're ready to pay for.

I'll only return if I'm drunk and the grocery stores are closed, since I can make 12 better vegan burritos for the price of one at taco del mar.

The Howie, it's the best thing on sliced bread. Period. A few of my other favorites include the nachos, the Garboose sandwich and many of the vegan cakes that they serve Tuesday nights for Cakearokee. I've been meaning to try the fish sandwich, I've had most of the other sandwiches and they can't compare to the Howie.

I was blown away by UBC, but more so I was filled with emotions the second I walked into the great hall at the MOA. The artifacts that this museum possesses in its collection are truly astounding. I felt extremely lucky to make it across town after wasting time trying to see some silly Olympic venue (which was not open for walking around 1 month before the games). I ended up having a little over 20 minutes to wonder the museum for free. Thanks front desk boy!

Seriously if you ever find your self in Vancouver, put this on top of your list of things to do.

I liked the pendulum, however I came here mainly because it was a very short walk from the City Centre Canada Line station and I could get some cash out from my HSBC account. As an international traveler with an HSBC account my cash is given to me at the exact exchange rate. Which rocks - thanks for leaving out any dumb fees HSBC.

Prime location, helpful staff, free breakfast, awesome kitchen, clean rooms. This place has a TON going for it as a hostel. I really enjoyed my stay and the staff certainly helped me get around.

When I landed coming in from the States I didn't even know the cross roads of the hostel. Just got to Davie and asked around. It worked! And I found my way around just like that during the rest of my time in Vancouver. This is really a great place to stay when traveling alone.

Celebrities Nightclub

Was here on an off night (Weds) but the night before the line went down the whole block. It was "straight" night and so all the 19+ year olds were out excited to go dancing. Cover on Tues was a ridiculous $10 and I am sure drinks would have been outrageous had I gone in. But I decided not to wait in line with the annoying valley-ish girls and annoying bros.

So if I had tried on another night I am sure it would have been a lot more fun.

On Weds no one was there, drinks were dirt cheap and the music was good. I would have loved to dance had there been more people. But the space was set up really well, dance floor was cool and the projection system rocked. So that's kinda where my 4 stars come from. I am sure this place gets rocking on the weekend.
