I definitely wouldn't mind coming here again. I only had an appetizer and a glass of wine at this restaurant while celebrating a bachelorette party.
I ordered the egg roll appetizer which they refer to as huevos-something-or- other. It's supposed to be a southwestern style eggroll, not bad. I really enjoyed it!
We sat at the bar while waiting for other guests to arrive and we were well attended to by the staff. The drinks are mostly $8+ so my cheap ass opted for a simple glass of wine.
Great environment and the food seemed promising!
Wat?! I haven't reviewed IKEA yet?
Well, I have enough restraint not to have my entire home looking like a page from the IKEA catalog...but just barely.
I was there a while ago during their grand opening when they had security teams pacing on the roof of the building and by miracle we found a parking space RIGHT in front of the entrance. IT WAS DESTINY!
IKEA food is great, their home decor is lovely and most of their furniture is a great deal - not all of it mind you but most of it. Sometimes I wonder how they manage to charge nearly $1,000 for a basic sectional fabric couch. It's highway robbery!
But IKEA has lots of knick knacks, kitchen tools and other furniture that are "hackable" or customizable - and it's fun to see what people come up with (just do a google search of "ikea hacks" to see what I mean).
The store is practically a tourist destination, so one go-round through the showroom is plenty - you'll find people actually lounging on couches or making cell phone calls as if they actually lived in the faux 372 sq ft apartment space. But, it's a good way to gauge whether IKEA products can hold up with thousands of people fiddling with drawers, beds and light fixtures for hours at a time, days on end. We noticed a commercial styled arch faucet that had some major holes in the tubing so we made a mental note of it.
I wish they had a more direct route to the wharehouse but you have to head up the stairs and back down again....right.by.th ecafeteria. YUMS.
Oh, and one more thing, the checkout line is an absolute nightmare. NIGHTMARE, I TELL YOU.

When I first tried their Vanilla and Peanut Butter Cupcake, I thought: not bad, not bad at all.
Now that their cupcake flavors are growing more robust I can firmly say that their cupcakes are DELICIOUS. My favorite? The Lemonata Cupcake. I absolutely love lemon tart flavors and this cupcake is filled with a lemonade custard-like filling and then topped with a meringue that's slightly browned at the top. Just, wow!
I mean, I LOVE to bake cupcakes but I feel like with these charming fellas around, I don't have to anymore!

I can definitely see this becoming a regular spot to hang out and have a beer. It's got a great central location, great selection of beer (at reasonable prices) and an imaginative menu.
I had some onion rings which were delicious and breaded perfectly. I would love to try more of their menu for dinner. The service is great, everyone seems laid back and happy to be there.
I agree that the space can feel kind of confusing as it moves from dinner to late-night but there's a lot of room to make it work, much like how Fid's pulls their dining and late-night bar together. I'm not worried about it.
Especially when they have Delirium Tremens on tap. Hey oh!

I ordered the crab flatbread and never thought crab meat, mushrooms and red onions would make a good combination but it totally was! My boyfriend ordered the meatloaf sub which looked great and tasted so smokey and delicious! I loved the Dragon Egg appetizer although I thought a three egg portion was a bit stingy, I think four eggs are more conducive for sharing (we were eating with another couple). I nibbled on the Flat de Spana and it was absolutely delicious! I'm not one to combine my sweet and savory but this flatbread with figs worked out beautifully! I think it was actually my favorite!
I would skip dessert next time, I had the Boston Creme Pie and sampled the Pecan Pie and they're all right but definitely not Spooky's best items on the menu.
