The restaurant storefront with patio seating is on Church street.  But you can walk through the building at 400 S Tryon and find it.  When you see those funky white toadstool-pillar looking things just blast through the double doors like your wallet's on fire and keep going straight back.

Going that way will take you into the "to go" area which is the upstairs half of the restaurant.  But it's just another five feet to the main dining room for a sit down lunch if you have time.

The "chicken salad" is a real grilled chicken breast  on a nice bed of greens.  It comes with a hard boiled egg, in case you needed more protein, and croutons.  They're very good about specializing your order with requests like "no onions" and "no cheese" which gets high marks from me.

And they're just darn friendly here!  Everyone in the restaurant is relaxed.  I enjoy feeling like I'm not working for a few minutes while I enjoy a healthy lunch.  And when I'm in the mood for burgers and fries, they've got that too.

Saturday after 11 DJ music was hip-hop heavy with the occasional reggaeton or slow song thrown in for good measure.  I don't listen to Beyonce or Pitbull on a regular basis but I had a blast anyway because the patrons make it so much fun.  For a $5 cover it was a straight-up (pun intended) good time.

Drinks are cheap.  Street parking is free of course and luckily close enough you can throw your coat in the trunk and hustle to the door before freezing your you-know-what off.

Dress comfortably, order your favorite drink and  you've exerted all the effort you need.  The bartender was awesome and did not keep anyone waiting.  Hartigan's arguably has the best disco balls in town.  The regulars come here to dance!

After being disappointed by several expensive Italian restaurants in a row, Zio knocked my socks off.  Great prices and the spiedies are where it's at if you happen to like beef and bread.  Hooya!

We found this place  by accident but they have really good grilled chicken on their salads and a wide selection of authentic Austrian dishes! The side of veggies I ordered was cooked in butter so I couldn't eat it. But everything was prepared well.

Pepsi is served and charged by the bottle with a glass of ice.  Lunch ends around 2:30 and so does coffee service which was a little sad watching someone order it at the end of their meal and they got harped at by the waitress.

But a pretty good, unique restaurant surrounded by... not much else!

It smells bad in the lobby, like a combination of shellfish and cheap cleaning solution. But the dining area was ok. They have the biggest bar area of any O.G. but would be more fun without the smell.

It took an hour and ten minutes for salad and diet coke which clocks a new record for slowest O.G. ever.  I was going to mention it to the manager but he looked about 12 years old and the fact that he sported a black eye didn't inspire confidence.

The only reason they are still open is their great location right on the strip.  This place was hopping even though the staff looked like they'd rather be fishin'...

The staff here finally looks like thry're having some fun.  I've had lackluster experiences at this location in the past. But today was just fine.  I think they finally remodeled too.  It looks really modern.

I was a little worried about getting a scissor cut since I'd never been to this location before.  But Denise is awesome and did a great job!

At other run of the mill cutteries that will go unnamed I've ended up looking anywhere from a 12 year old boy to Adolph Hitler.

It was better than just "the bangs and sides were good" or "I didn't look bald."  I felt great!  Thanks for being there when I needed you!  Looks like I found my new regular place.  Just like any other service, don't forget to tip!

For my 500th review it had to be good and friends helped me find a great Mexican place that fit the bill.  The chips are hot and the salsa is fresh.   Corn tortillas are the norm!  Chicken tacos are meaty.  The bulls eye for me was the ground beef tacos - lots of flavor!  Simple, no-frills, good food.

Plus we had the drink of the day, a cucumber margarita.  I've never tasted anything like it and can't wait to come back.  And to top it all off, the price is right!  Just one more reason to drive through Central Ave more often. Show owner comment »

No beer specials on Saturday night!  I should have known it was going to be a bad evening when we were greeted with an offer for vodka shooters.  Thoroughly confusing introduction to what's supposed to be a well-loved English pub.  Seeing as there were only six customers inside but the patio was packed, the best reason to go is to enjoy a draught Guiness in the outdoor seating.

I wanted food and word on the street is they're under new management and reinstated their traditional menu.  So I hankered to try their shepherd's pie.  The online menu is not current and meat pie is nowhere to be seen.

The new menu has things like egg rolls with spicy sauce.  If they are trying to cook what the new chef is good at, they're still missed the mark.  The new items are mediocre at best.  It doesn't take Gordon Ramsay to know they should throw the new menu out the window and get back to English basics.

Don't get the burger if you're used to Big Daddy's or The Burger Co!  The patty and fries tasted pre-fab frozen.  Definitely had bad tummy the rest of the evening.  The whiskey selection is next to nil.  If friends want to go again I'll try the fish and chips but I won't get my hopes up.  And I wouldn't call it an English restaurant anymore or even a "pub" judging the current state of affairs.

Chocolate like wow!  So many different flavors from espresso to fruit, simple caramel and even sophisticated tea infusions.  When I Google mapped "chocolate truffles" I never expected to hit the jackpot like this.  They even have flourless chocolate cake ready to go!
