Their regular mowing service also includes the leaf blowing and hedge maintenance. I think I'll be switching to them this spring!
So yes, it's pretty smoky because you can smoke inside, but that just made me feel kind of like I was transported back to my younger days before all the smoking bans :)
Super friendly staff, good liquor selection, and the wines aren't bad. I'm sure the beer selection is great too, but I don't drink beer so I didn't check it out.

*Bacon is skinny, regular bacon (I mean it's still bacon so .. it's good and all but that thick bacon was extra tasty :) )

TASTY!
We got a blue cheese bacon burger and a bacon cheese burger (both on gluten free buns for NO EXTRA CHARGE!) and a large queso. The burgers are fresh tasting and yummy. The bacon is HUGE! The gluten free buns were good tasting and not too crumbly. And oh my, the queso is sooo good. It has like onions and fried peppers in it... yum! The tortilla chips are not good though - too thick and greasy.
So.. all that food? $16.42. Awesome. We will return!

So I signed up for the 10 days for $10 and took 4 classes (including the 2 intro classes) during that time. After the 4th class, I was going to sign up for a membership but the instructor was busy with other students and I didn't want to wait around right then. I figured I'd do it when I came in for class the next week.
Well.. I would have waited if the school had bothered to explain in their 2-3 welcome/how are you doing? emails or in person that the only way the $80 initiation fee was being waived was if you signed up during the $10 for 10 period. When the memberships were discussed in the intro classes we were told that the initiation fee was waived in October but apparently that's only for the Signature membership. I learned this in an email that I got TWO days after my 10 days ended.
No one from Sunstone has actually confirmed this to me by email or phone. I emailed them asking about the fee more than 24 hours ago and haven't received a response. I also tried calling 3 different times yesterday and the phone just rang and rang.
It's too bad because I did enjoy the actual classes. The instructors were helpful and nice.

Update - I received an email that states that I was supposed to have been given a $20 off coupon for the initiation fee to be used if I signed up during my $10 for 10. She did say that they would honor the $20 off this week which was nice. But really.. I was supposed to get some coupon? And I was supposed to have been told about this initiation fee? Get it together people.

I'm sure that the sweet potato fries, battered fries, onion rings, and tater tots are all great, but do yourself a favor and try the 'vegetable of the day'! I never rave about or love vegetables, but wow, these are tasty! Last Friday it was carrots and they were fresh and still a little crunchy and tasted kind of brown sugar-y and tonight it was green beans with caramelized onions. I want more of both now!
Also, on the non-healthy side, you should really get a green chile queso. I think I would eat the whole thing myself if it was left in front of me. And that's saying a lot because it's a lot of queso. Mmmmm...
Awesome selection of many different styles of jewelry from local artists, cute novelty items, a million candles, cute baby clothes, adorable dog leashes and collars, cards... oh, I could go on and on.
Stop in and see for yourself! Especially if you need a gift for someone. Is it Christmas shopping time yet??

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema

This Alamo is an Alamo now - same menu, same trailers, etc. So that's awesome. And the line situation is very controlled and INSIDE.
What was not awesome was that the women's restroom reeked of urine and the servers weren't telling groups to shift down and not leave one seat between them. The people in the row in front of us refused to move TWICE when people asked. RUDE! But the patrons shouldn't have had to ask anyway as the staff shouldn't have allowed it to happen.
So you might ask, why so many stars after all that complaining? Well, I received a survey after the movie where I told them all of the above and a manager contacted me and told me that they were working on the odor and that servers were supposed to be monitoring the one seat issue and that she was going to make sure that everyone understood how important it is.
I think they really want to get 5 stars from me :)

It still is an Alamo and I still love the fact that I get to sit in a dark, cool theater and have people bring me food and drinks, but I have two big complaints about this location-
1. It smells faintly of mold. Like that smell when someone is using moldy rags or mops. Ick.
2. The menu is so limited. Where's the Once Upon a Time in Mexico salad? (And why was my buffalo chicken salad so much lighter on lettuce than the other Alamos? It's certainly not cheaper.)
It's less than 10 minutes from my house and it has the most convenient parking of any of the locations, so I'm sure I'll be back anyway.
Also, it seemed overly bright in here during the movie. We kept thinking that they were going to dim the lights more when the movie started.... then when the credits were over.... but the lights never got any dimmer.

We had smoked escolar and shrimp tacos in taro root chips and beef tenderloin and beef carpaccio and beet & goat cheese salad and panna cotta and lemony Coruba rum drinks and they were all excellent! We also had 5 minute chair massages from the Tower Health Club & Spa and 5 minutes wasn't enough but also it was surprisingly relaxing for only 5 minutes!

I've never eaten in here but they seem to have a lot of seating so I'd think you could be seated and served pretty quickly. I've done pick-up and delivery and my order has always been on time and contains the right items.
The make-your-own spring rolls has a ton of stuff and they are fun to share. The pho comes with lots of basil, cilantro, sprouts, onion slices, green onion, and two lime pieces. If you get it to go, they mix the hoisin and sriracha sauce together so ask for it seperate if you don't like that.
