Wedding bells rang!! This place was as big of a fantasy as the wedding budget, breathtaking!! The wedding was like something out of a fairytale book, that will stay in our hearts and mind forever.

The site has built in seating for wedding guests, right on the cliff, and it sure does make for a special treat when the dolphins or whales cruise by as wedding guests too. After the ceremony, head up to the multi-purpose room for a reception that will have everyone mesmerized!

The reception area has a spacious patio area, spacious kitchen and joins right up to the museum...cool! The museum is a stroll down memory lane for me, remembering the good ol' days of Marineland.

It is a bit pricey and be sure to keep out some extra cash for a setup and cleanup crew...it was a bit tricky to try and be setup in time for the wedding and we ended up there on our hands and knees...scrubbing the carpets afterwards! Now that I think of it...it was much like the Cinderella story! No matter...it was worth every penny.

Oh how i love this place, well when I used to be able to afford it anyway.  It is a bit pricey but definitely worth the dough! Actually it is the only place where I don't mind being pooped on by seagulls or getting a splinter in my butt (don't ask).

See, I'm not entirely a fisherman, actually I would much rather leave that to the professionals...catch my fish and prepare it the way that I like it...no brainer here! I can go window shopping for my fish, how cool! Then I take my fish to the cute guys behind the counter and tell them how i like it...voila! Fresh fish on my plate in under 15 minutes!

It gets packed down there though and it can be a real pain to find a clean table to sit at, and the vultures...uh...I mean seagulls will take you out, in an effort to fly off with your fish, consider yourself warned.

Direct Tv

Direct TV can go directly to you know where! If given a choice, I think I wouold rather go stand naked on my roof with aluminum foil attached to my friggen head!

Direct TV has many areas that need improvement, but I will say this...why bother!?  Customer Service Reps are the biggest waste of time at this place, even if you are lucky enough to get one from our Country (good luck with that).

I swear, they just read off of a simple script, and probably one that I wrote for $3 somewhere.  If you ask them any questions besides what is listed on their script...you send them into a state of confusion (can be entertaining though).

I now know where they get the term, "going postal".  I don't even bother anymore with customer service, hell, I don't even bother with Direct TV more than needed.

They change the show lineup whenever they feel like it but will forget to let you know...so why you are all set to go tune into VH1 Classics for a heavenly bliss of 80's pretty boys...WHAM! its no longer a part of your programming! Really?

The hidden fees are the real killer here...I know darn well I paid my bill to a 0 balance but for some strange reason mid-billing cycle...dinged with some past due balance that just popped in out of nowhere...ridiculous I tell you...plain ridiculous!

Once you get over the shock of being kicked in the stomache from the prices these days or the trama of almost getting rear ended when backing out of the tiny parking lot at rush hour...everything else is absolutely FABULOUS!

Now because I'm not a dog or cat, my opinion is only that...and opinion :) I'm sure if you asked Baby, Jessie, Midnight, Rudy & Ruby how great it is, they will say it sucks! Or at least that is what my four-legged kids told me.

There is never a wait time...I mean ever, and that is strange because the place is constantly busy! You can call same day and get in, you can just walk in or do it right and make an appointment. The girls at the front desk are so sweet and so kind, the Doctor's are top notch and the facility is super clean.

Everytime I take Baby (my pitbull) there for checkup or shots, she runs in there with her tail wagging, she gets so excited to see the Doc...I never understand it, she even throws a fit when we have to leave, I have to drag her out on her butt!

In all the years I have been going there, I have never been dissappointed, unless you count the prices, they are a bit high in that department.  I love them, my pets love them but my wallet...well lets not ask my wallet, it hates everyone!

Flies, trash, bum's, the beautiful setting for skid row! Now I don't know about y'all, but dead flies on the window ledge, while I'm eating...doesn't work for me at all. The only reason they are getting a 2 star rating is because I shamefully love their grilled cheese sandwiches! Although, stating that you love the food at a place that has dead flies, trash on the floor and bums...makes no real sense and I should hide my identity now!

The bums are sweet, well the ones that are breathing and able to talk anyway. Some of them look like they ate whatever those dead flies had...eeww! The gangs...well...welcome to San Pedro, enjoy your stay!

The grumpy old man behind the register, could possibly be packing, because I swear he is not afraid to be rude, mean and completely mouthy to just about anyone and in that neighborhood, it takes real "chorizo & eggs" to be that rude! Hmm? Maybe he killed the flies!

I also thought $13.75 for one burger, one grilled cheese, two fries and two cokes was a bit ridiculous and totally unnecessary. I think I am officially over Troys...great hangover food though, I will admit :)

Alicia, Alicia...ALICIA! She is truly the best cake maker in town! Now I know what you are thinking... wedding cake from Albertsons? OH YEAH! This was the best cake I have ever had, not quite the easiest to scrub out of carpet at midnight, but definitely the best to eat and smash in each other's face...priceless!

This cake fed over 200+ people, well so they say, we had only 150 and still had over half the cake left.  The quality and price was so much better than all the specialty bakeries around here, that ultimately wants to charge you per mouth! I will never go anywhere else and once I get the professional photos back I will be sure to upload them here...fabulous!

The cake was easy to transport, delicious and ready on time, you just can't ask for anything more than that.

So shoot me...I gave it 3 stars! Aaah! I shouldn't really say that here in Pedro, or anywhere this close to Rebels, should I? Okay, so here is the scoop.  I saw a review of Rebels, saw all the 4 and 5 stars, thought to myself, they must be kidding right?  So...headed over to read what all the raves were about and think back to the last time I was in Rebels...wow!

Well after reading a few of the reviews, I still feel a bit clueless on the 5 star thing? Man has my memory failed me, I mean, I think I might be headed down dementia lane quicker than some of the patrons in Rebels! I also didn't know that you could actually mix a good vodka tonic, really? What? hold the tonic maybe?

I also read that they have an awesome jukebox, this would be great if you could get near it! I dare you...really! Have you ever tried to put on Guns N' Roses or Slayer in a bar with 8 cranky old men who swear its too loud with that racket on (you know damn well they can't hear anyway) and they are trying to tell you how far they had to walk in the snow with no shoes in 1937? I have, and its mighty dangerous! Add a couple of old school chrome cowboys to the mix and well, it could get plain ugly in that little bar.

I do recall the drinks being cheap, and by golly, that's how you will feel if you choose that place as your night out.  Back in the day, the guys that patroned the place were much younger, I actually think they are the same guys still, now they just have longer, whiter beards! Some of them take up two bar stools instead of one these days and heaven help you, should you not tell the barmaid she hasn't aged a bit!

Don't get me wrong here, if dives are the happening thing these days?  Rebels gets an A+  Who am I anyway, just some chick who doesn't even go to bars anymore, so my opinion could be considered pretty lame anyway.  Now, if nostalgia is what these reviews were going for, they may have been accurate, Rebels has been around just about as long as its patrons...Lord knows Pedro is known for its dive bars and Port "holes".

This one saddens me, since I was a die-hard Sacreds goer, back in the day.  I used to frequent that coffe joint merely because I swore they put something in the coffee that kept you going all day and brought you back for more!

Dave, the owner...great guy, just a little quiet is all.  Employees, different story! They all are on a whole different realm! You have the one who I think sees dead people, then the one who is dead, then the one who wishes she was dead...just strange.

I read a review about the bleached blonde dude, funny, that is exactly how he is. I don't think he means to be, I think all the drugs he has done just finally caught up to him...oh God! the stuff they put in their coffee, do you think that will happpen to me eventually???

I read another review that says it is more upscale, now that it has moved up closer to the Warner Grand...he is kidding right? Hold on, I need to go laugh my ass off! Upscale is what he said right? Did he mean Warner Grand or Sacred grounds? Either way, upsacale is not a word to best describe too many places on 6th street, is he even talking about San Pedro? Oh, I am so confused right now.

I'm good with headin' over to McDonalds for the hazelnut iced coffee anyday...now that's good stuff!! Even the homeless are more friendly on that corner.  The last time I went down to Sacred grounds, I was hassled at the door for some change, hassled some more at the counter again, over change and then hassled again for more change coming out, what do I look like a mortgage broker for skid row?

By the time I was short-changed at the counter by that employee, I had no change left to give to the homeless sitting outside the coffee shop. I think Dave is a good business man, so I am a little confused as to why he has some of these people working for him. Well it has survived this long, so it must be doing something right.

Copper room, turned out to be a cop out...bummer! I did not even get a chance to patron this dump! I'm sorry, bar.  I heard it had the "Best Bartender" in San Pedro, totally wanted to check that out, being a bartender myself...this was a must-do, must-see.

While having my morning Joe...coffee silly!!  I heard the morning rumors, Copper Room shut down for embezzlement...whaat??? This is juicy, luv it! You mean to say, wait a minute, a bar in San Pedro...no, a bar in San pedro is under investigation for something naughty, something crooked? I don't believe it!

This sounds like something for the GossipGirl...oh wait! That's me! Well before I get to gettin', I thought I would check out if anyone had any reviews...hmmm? I guess the only thing I can write about, is the time I went there with my adorable hubby to have a drink and it was...wait for it, wait for it...BOARDED UP!

3:00pm and the place had papers flying all over like a scene in Wizard of Oz, I think I could even hear the howling wind and that tilted mailbox you see in the picture...picture perfect really. So my guess is, no review needed, can you say ouch?  Maybe not, I have a feeling Marlon will say ouch for me...oh Marlon?

Yee-Haw Pardner! Food is the best in the west, seriously! It has been quite some time since I stepped (or two-stepped) in that joint, but I was tickled pink to hear that they opened back up.  They closed for awhile, I'm sure it was due to some uptight city folk, upset over the attire.

Back in the day, when I could fit into those chaps, I used to work there, great place to visit, terrible place to work!  I'm still the girl next door +20 years now, but you wouldn't catch me wearing those fringe-ladden chaps anymore is all.  Management back then really sucked, today it is a whole new world there, so I hear.

Prices are great, food is great, girls are super friendly...no need to get your under-drawers in bunches ladies...they are just there for the tips. Believe it or not, families go there...for the food and I believe them!!  Hot diggity dog...the hot dogs are good! Chili just can't be beat either, especially when it's topped with mozzerella & onions!

Ice cold beers to chase away the chili sting...the day is topped off just right :) So what are you waiting for? Go hang loose at Texas Loosey's!
