Love, love, LOVE this guy!! I took my piece of junk to him, in hopes of fixing it up for myself....he told me I live near the cliffs, drop it off there! Boy was he right, after keeping the car overnight, just in case there was an ounce of hope, it was obvious this is just a money-sinker! He fixed the overheating problem with new hoses, did a pressure test, did just about everything he could, before coming to the conclusion that this metal monstrosity would just cause me more grief than needed. I absolutely love honest mechanics, they are so hard to come by these days, and at Eddie's Auto Electric, you get honesty, great prices and extremely competent staff. He did say he could fix the car for me, but for what it would cost me combined with how much money I have already put into it, from other auto shops, he said just drive it til it quits, and junk it...so that is what I am doing.  He charged me hardly anything to do this overnight job that we felt we should actually pay him more...now when does that ever happen in San Pedro???

We have taken other cars to him in the past, and never once did he do us wrong.  Everyone that works there is FABULOUS! Highly, highly, recommend this place. You will definitely not regret it. Oh, and CAR FOR SALE!!!

Being a local here, this place is a definite gem...even with the cats ;) It is home to some of the coolest surfers I know, a safe haven to just take a stroll along the waters edge, try that at Cabrillo....eeegads! And collecting sea glass is a real treat here!! As for the cats, there is a woman (probably an organization really) that feeds them daily. She pulls up in her car in the morning and starts unloading trays and trays of food, refilling water bowls that are strategically placed in the cliff side, even a few handmade sheds up in those hills, have been spotted.  Some have been trapped and spayed, others left to breed, and maybe even a few taken home, but whatever the situation, it is their home nonetheless, and they are fed well.

The lifeguards are on top of things here, most observant than I have seen anywhere, which is good, because surfing here can be a bit dangerous with tons of reef's always wondered why one of the "regular" surfers is always wearing a helmet! Ha ha!  The place (like mentioned above, not a beach) is my favorite place to collect sea glass, shells, talk to the cats, and dodge a few angry sea lions here and there.

The price to park is ridiculous and even seems to change price from time to time, $3.00 all the way to $10.00, depends on what time of year and who is working the shack, lol! but like everyone else said, there is plenty of parking up the hill.  It has a nice spot for picnicking, BBQ'ing or hanging out with family or Friend's have even done a few "Paddle Out Memorials" here, and they were beautiful. See pics posted by me of that, absolutely stunning scene to remember surfers gone before us.

It is one of the few places left in "Pedro" that hasn't turned to S#!t.  Something has happened to our coastline lately, and not just losing part of our historical Paseo Del Mar!! The parks are now home to the local car clubs, not so local motorcycle clubs and a few others...not a bad thing, just a crowded thing. One day, I actually saw a guy from the car clubs, stopping traffic and charging to get in to one of the park strips for a fundraiser...made me wonder how I could pull that off, he may be on to something! Lol!

All in all, one of the most beautiful places in town!

Well I know my review doesn't really count, but I couldn't resist seeing 5 stars next to my name! But while I am here, I will tell you that Heart & Soule Designs really cares about finding a cure for cancer, and also understands that staying healthy is easier to do when the mind stays happy and positive...just like mine, seeing 5 big red stars next to my name...that is why they have come up with a way to make you smile, when smiling isn't so easy...their boobs! They are the official Chick Magnet and Boobie Pin creators, and keep coming up with more and more designs everyday!!

So you ask, what could be better than that? I'll tell you! They also donate 10% of all their proceeds to American Cancer Society, so they are helping to save lives AND make people smile...COOL! Their Chick Magnets are newly patented and being launched in many stores, showcased at some pretty neat star-studded events, and making their way through the charity scene...WHOOHOO!

As much as I enjoyed Shannon's review, sassy and full of life is NOT the words I would use to describe the meanies that work there, rather, volunteer there. Those women have lived a loooong and fuulll life, and probably would do better playing gin rummy at home!

They are rude, impatient, and definitely do not understand the concept of customer service. Don't dare ask a question, or they will belittle you and make you feel as though, you are the town idiot.  Example #1...I asked a question about flat rate boxes and the differences between weight boxes and flat rate boxes of the same volume.  The woman who looked like she had a bit too much botox, and sort of resembled one of the Stepford Wives, says to me, " Darlin, are you ever going to make up your mind, or should I just have the USPS truck bring you an entire truckload?" What? Oh no, sweetheart, you did not just say that.

Okay, so I don't have an example #2, because quite honestly, I will never, ever go back there again. Ship N' Mail Xpress is a bit more pricey, but so worth the extra dough!  These women are the prime example of why we should never have voulnteers doing customer service work, one should be paid to deal with the public, otherwise this is what you get!

Freezingly Fabulous!!! I'm a vendor at Old McDonalds Farmers Markets, and all that time out in the sun...I knew where I would run...back for some scrumptious ice! Kianaki Hawaiin Shave Ice has Heart & Soule Designs vote! The kids love it because, seriously, what kid doesn't just love a blue tongue? C'mon, you know you do too!

My personal favorite is the Tigers Blood...it IS as good as it sounds, really! I don't quite know how they shape the ice like they do, but who cares, I'm eating it too fast to even notice the cool flower shape anyway!

Am I cheating by giving a review, as a vendor?  Shhhh! I feel as a newbie, I can be objective, so objective I shall be...LOVE THEM! I'm not saying this because I'm a vendor, and made a ton of money, actually, I didn't make anything :(  I was new, and just scoping the ropes...better luck next time is what I'm shootin for.  It was a beautiful day outside, fantastic produce, arts and crafts, and cutest darn piggies ever! But today was...dun...dun...dun...CARMAGEDDON! So the market was a bit dead, and made for a very mellow day unfortunately.

Once I tied my children to the chairs...to keep them there, as they couldn't stay off the bunggee jump ride, or out of the giant hamster ball ride...I took a stroll through the market, was pleasantly surprised at all of the gorgeous fruits and vegies...everywhere! And the free samples that they almost force down your throat...seriously, they sometimes chase you down the aisle! Incredible food too, especially those gigantic twisy potatoes...wierd, like something out of Alice in Wonderland...curiously fabulous though!

Then I got feathered...yep, awesome little rooster feathers weaved into my hair, so cute, now I know what you are thinking, NO wonder I didnt sell, I was too busy buying...and you are right! Cheap, fabulous, and delicious! I came home stuffed and broke...but watch out next Sunday...Heart & Soule Designs will be SELLING, not EATING (maybe).

If you want a nice place to go with the family, or just escape the house for awhile, this place is it! FREE parking, FREE to get in, dirt cheap rides, and vendors, and super hilarious vendors like me...so come on by, and say hello! Watch out for the really, really tall guy on stilts, he practicaly runs through that place, and hop on the train, that takes you all through the market, listen to some rockin bands, and I'm not positive folks, but I think I saw Elvis...he's ALIVE! Well if that aint Elvis, then he did a pretty darn good job at acting like him.

Woohoo! As good as it gets is an understatement! This place absolutely ROCKS! I am a newbie customer, and ordered supplies for my little, but awesome business..cough --- Heart & Soule http://Designs.com ----cough cough...Oh did I say that out loud? Sorry, had to throw that in there real quick like. So, I ordered the supplies, and the next thing I know, the stuff was on my front porch...I mean seriously, what did they do, hang up the phone and drive to my house? Love them!

Their prices are ridiculously cheap for what good quality you get. And their stuff is made in the USA...just like me! Good choice if you choose them, believe me.

Southwest Administrators

Where the eff do I start? Unfortunately I have had Southwest Administrators for the last 15 some years...notice I said unfortunately? Yes, that would be because my husbands job only uses them! These monkeys, do not have a clue as to what they are doing over there...or maybe they do, now that I think about it, they are BRILLIANT! Brilliant, because they know they are driving me insane, which will require me to have to see a shrink, and let me guess...a shrink will have to be approved through Southwest Admin!

Good luck, or run for the hills with these people. Their response time stinks (that is, if they respond), their customer service is about as good as TSA's baggage checkers, and their ability to help you is about as likely as a monkey  passing up a bannana!  Now, I get when you have had a long day, and someone calls at the end of the day needing you to do your job, well, you just don't want to....but then at least LIE, make up some really good reason why you cannot help the customer.  Don't say you don't want to do it, because you are hungry and want to go home, yeah, that's what they really did say.

I have never had an easy call with these people...ever, in 15 years. So sad, that in 15 years, they have not employed better people, sad that for 15 years, I have been subject to their stupidity, and sad, that now I am going to have to be put on meds to calm myself the eff down...SAD!

Alright, I'm better now. I'll be even better once I speak to someone about this, and NOT a shrink...someone in Human Resources, someone at my husbands work, someone who will fix the ridiculous mess over at Southwest Administrators!  Now, before i go, take a look at the picture provided...hahahahahaha...I swear I did not provide that pic...hahahahaha...but I guess someone who doesn't like them either posted it, because why on earth would you post a picture that looks like that...hahahahaha...STUPID! She looks lonely in there don't you think? And please tell housekeeping to straighten the taped up notices on the counter...tacky!

Gaslamp Restaurant & Bar

Being the fabulous blonde that I am...cough, cough, I thought  the Gaslamp was a district in San Diego! To my surprise, there is an even better Gaslamp right here in Long Beach, CA! Yeeesss!

Booking bands is never fun, but booking them at The Gaslamp is, and boy, what fun we had! The place is roomy, lively, and excellent, not to mention, they have great taste in music, like Electric Funeral ( http://www.blacksabbat... ) or any of the others at (http://www.souledoutmu... ) yes, another horrible self promotion plug! But hey, Yelp won't mind as long as I say how great yelp is ( http://www.yelp.com ) See, they love me now.

The bar has incredible bartenders...I mean, they are mysteriously fast, so fast, that I wouldn't be surprised, if they switched their uniforms, to super hero costumes. I really wouldn't mind seeing that one bartender in a batman costume...rawr!

Unfortunately though, I have to agree with that other reviewer, the floor waitstaff, is on the slow side, but in their defense, the place seems to always be packed, or maybe it was just our band that packed it...yes another shameless plug, either way, it would be great if the waitresses, kept up with the bartenders.

As for the entertainment...there is plenty of it! Karoke is bomb there, so I hear anyway, the live bands rock the roof off, and flat screen TV's in every corner, keep absolutely everyone amused in something.  The sound guy is adorably shy, the lights are a show by themselves, and security...is well...efficient (see pictures).

I think it would be safe to say, I LOVE that place.  It is priced right, located right, and set up right...go check it out, and while you are at it, have the bartender make up a drink for you, they love to create custom drinks for people!

Seven Seas Tropical Fish

I have a 300 gallon fish tank that seems to always be a disaster! Thanks to the guys at Seven Seas...I have managed to keep a bit of sanity, and not cook the lobster for dinner.  Once you walk in, you are greeted with a happy hello, and assisted with anything you need. These guys know their stuff, and can tell you just about anything there is to know in the aquatic world. Maybe you need to know if you can put table salt in your saltwater tank...trust me, someone has asked before, not just me! Maybe you are super excited that the lobster they sold you, just had a zillion babies, and you want to keep them all, so what should you do? Call Seven Seas, that's what!

I have went from having ginormous (yes it is a word in my book) fish, to pretty little, calm guppies...and everytime, I use Seven Seas.  I love feeling like family there, sure, I know they laugh at me once I leave, but hey, at least I was treated right while in the store. Seriously, you can't beat their prices either, my Seven Seas bill is easy to hide from the hubby, or pull off as a "grocery bill", well that was until this review I guess.

Seven Seas has the largest selection of fish and tank supplies that I have ever seen...just don't go into the back room...there is very large lizards in there...GROSS! Sure, you can go up to Petco to grab a few cheap fish...but have you ever seen the "legal questioniere" they have you fill out? WHOA! Does one, really need to sign some kind of "code of conduct" form, when buying a guppie...really? Trust me on this...I have cheated on Seven Seas before, I have, and shamefully, I come back begging for forgiveness to Seven Seas, and they always take me back with open arms and forgiving heart.

So head on down to Seven Seas, and grab yourself a brand new baby lobster or two...believe me, they will be getting a truckload soon!
