Francesco was punctual, thorough, talented, and easy to work with. He did a GREAT job on the walls and doors. He did such a good job that I decided to trust him with sanding and finishing the floors, even though he hadn't done a job like that on his own. He did a fantastic job. He went over the top and put baseboards at the bottom of the door frames, around the 2 murphy beds, and between the kitchen and hardwood floors (with permission). The place looks amazing, thanks to him. I would trust him with any repair or remodeling job, and hope that he doesn't get so busy that I can't get him to come back here! Thank you, Francesco!

Great food and great service! We sat at the bar for brunch. Luckily, we got there around 12 -- by 12:30 the place was almost filled. The french toast with pears and cranberries was very good (sweet) and the eggs nova (poached with lox) were salty but really tasty. Great waitstaff, too -- very friendly and easy going. We'll definitely be coming back.

This is my go-to place in the theater district. It used to be 2 separate places, but they've since merged into one and as a result they have a really diverse menu. The appetizers are all great, especially the stuffed mushroom and the lobster bisque. For the main course, I've been stuck on the Massaman Shrimp -- enormous shrimp in massaman curry with avocados and chestnuts.

Mediocre sushi. Lunch special is 2 rolls and soup or salad, not 3 like most places. Service was very attentive. Most plates/glasses had big chips out of them.

Not that they need any more great reviews (just go here -- its awesome) but here's another:

This place is what I've been missing in NYC. A cozy wine/espresso bar just down the street, open from 9a to 2a. Totally versatile. Outstanding food. Friendly service.

I moved in down the street recently. Went here for the first time for brunch on Thursday. Came back for drinks and dessert on Friday. Same waiter; friendly, awesome, goes-out-of-his-way service both times.

I could go on for a while, but to keep it short:

Brunch: The truffled egg toast was awesome. Well worth a visit here. Just down a notch from awesome (to "highly enjoyable") were the rest of the dishes we got. Excellent espresso.

Drinks/dessert: Homemade sorbet topped with sugar soaked strawberries. Again, superb. The wine pairing was also great -- a sparkly dessert wine (which I usually stay away from...) that went perfectly with the sorbet.

I won't say "I would go back here" -- I _will_ go back here.

Went here for dinner because we were wandering around the village, passed it, and suddenly had an Indian craving. I decided not to look up anything about it before we went.

The service was good. Not too pushy, but politely offering drinks, appetizers, etc. The food, however, was "missing something," as my girlfriend put it. Her vegetarian dish was much better than my dry chicken tikka masala. I much prefer Whole Foods' c.t.m. to this one. The sauce wasn't thick enough, and the chicken breast had no flavor. The lamb stuffed naan was mostly butter, and I couldn't taste the lamb much. We opted for dessert elsewhere... (Ino', to be exact :)

When combined on my plate, the flavors complimented each other, and the beer (1947 -- for the year of Indian independence) also went nicely with the food. So -- 3 stars. I'd give it another shot but go with the garlic naan and only get veggie dishes.

This place doesn't look like much (just a little bigger than your typical every-street-corner-in-nyc convenience store), but they make a mean sandwich. I had melted Munster on roast beef with some peppers, etc, but I felt like I was eating a Philly cheese steak. In Philadelphia. Amazing.

Cons: there are "too many choices", and the sandwiches are "too big" :)

Great service, fast pickup, but it goes downhill from there...

This may just be my karma biting me in the ass for being lazy, but my roommate and I had some problems with this place... first of all, when I called to ask the rate, she quoted me $0.75/lb; I asked if there was any initial charge and she said no. Turns out there is -- $7.50 for the first 6 lbs, which works out to $1.25/lb. Eh, ok -- fine. But then, its another $1.50 to separate lights and darks. The first time it was fine because we went there and were able to haggle with her. However, the most recent time, when we got delivery, my roommate asked that they do the two laundry baskets together, as one order, and not separate lights and darks. They did neither and the bill was 50% higher than we thought it would be. When we called to complain, the woman was very short with us and said "I have a customer, I have to go" as we were explaining the issue.

So, I don't think we'll be going back to this place -- the area is saturated with laundromats and cleaners. Or maybe I wont be so lazy and take a couple hours to do it myself next time...

I stopped in here first because its right next to Veniero's (yumm...) and second because it looks like its been here since the Dutch settled Manhattan. The first time, I really really liked the pasta. The second time, a little less so, and now I've about evened out at 4 stars. Their flavors are totally creative and unusual. I just wish they had a _little_more flavor. Not much -- just a little more. Red sauce almost completely drowns out the flavor. I tried putting e.v. olive-oil on the ravioli, and I'd strongly recommend it -- flavors stand out much more than with pasta sauce.

Oh-My-God. I love espresso, so I thought I could handle this... this.. drip coffee, right?? I was bouncing off the walls for two hours. So strong, made to order, and the guys who run the place are coffee _nuts_. I got some beans to bring home for my cousin, and asked how long it would last: "well, it will peak on the 25th, so anytime before then, and it'll go rapidly downhill from there." I've never heard of espresso "peaking," but apparently this guy has. And I'd bet my coffee-drinking career that he's right. Awesome place.
