I kept thinking about Rookies when the Eagles laid a major egg against the lowly Raiders. That's what you get for booing Santa Philly! Wah wah Eagles.
Great food and service, what more do you need?

No worries here. Rick Bayless' Mexican street food spot serves up some hefty portions. Good thing they do because it certainly was not cheap. A Cuban sandwich, chips and salsa and limonada ran me close to twenty bones. Only for you reigning Top Chef Master. The food was superb and the Cuban was gooey goodness. I am also a huge fan of the green tomatillo salsa. There is no shortage of tempting choices and items take advantage of local suppliers and the ingredient quality is exceptional. Lunch is served after 11 and there was a line already forming Soup Nazi style. They serve breakfast here as well, and soups later in the day-too early no soup for you!
Now if I could only figure out how to pull off the trifecta and gorge myself at all three of his fine restaurants in a single day. A guy can dream can't he?
OK, sorry couldn't resist the Godfather reference. We have been to Enzo's several times and it is one of the best restaurants around. It is a quaint little restaurant in downtown LaPorte that serves up some terrific Italian food. We were able to call ahead to secure a table, which you pretty much need to do as this place is not too big. My wife and I were joined by her sister and husband. Wouldn't you know that we got the exact same things? They have a sweet "dinner for two" option which includes a soup or salad starter, a pizza or pasta and dessert to share for $30. The minestrone was great on this chilly afternoon after getting soaked watching the Irish. Pizzas for the ladies, which they enjoyed. Penne with Sausage, EVOO, sun dried tomatoes and fresh basil for the guys. My brother in law wolfed down the dish. Can't say I blame him, it was very good. Since we had to run to grab the kids, they pack our Tiramisu to go.
Service was a bit off, but they still got us in and out pretty quickly. It wasn't expensive at all and you can really get a ton of food for what you pay. However, they suffer from the same problem just about every place around here has. Smoke. And a lot of it. We were sitting pretty close to the bar and smoke was just rolling out of there. Not appetizing at all. Enzo send the smokers outside and you'd have a 5 star establishment with more patrons.
We started with the Heirloom tomato cart which was prepared table side and sprinkled with Bourbon smoked salt. We also had the October Fest Salad of mizuna greens, pumpkin beer,
sage pumpkin croutons, apple honey crisp and vinaigrette. Both of our starters were delicious. For our main courses my wife had the Hamachi, which was presented with bourbon poached apricots, swiss chard, chinese spare ribs and shitake mushrooms. I had the Duck breast and confit with collard greens, hen of wood mushrooms, pearl onions and a tasty little cherry sauce. These were both excellent and well prepared and presented. I've forgotten what we had for dessert, but I remember that we liked it.
This is one of the best restaurants in town. So, be sure to make it part of your trip to Louisville. And also grab a few of their sinful homemade cookies on the way out.

It is a sprawling complex with several restaurants and pools. They have a kiddie pool and a larger adult swim area. The gym was nice and modern with no shortage of equipment or available machines. The restaurants that we went to were great. Kurrents was the best of the bunch.
