Chaat Paradise
Categories: Indian, Vegetarian, Pakistani
Short version:
Very good food. For two people, order the Dahi Bateta Sev Poori (an appetizer of crunchy pastry shells filled with cold, spicy fillings), Roti (flat bread), Chana Bhatura (chick peas and puffy flat bread), Aloo Gobi Mattar (cauliflower & potatoes), Chaas (buttermilk drink), and Chai.
Long version:
My wife and I just had dinner there, and the food was delicious. We're novices to the chaat scene, so I'm writing this review from that perspective.
We ordered:
- Dahi Bateta Sev Poori from the snacks section of the menu. The serving was just enough for two people and very tasty. We would definitely order it again.
- Spinach Paratha from the roti section of the menu. It was kind of like a thick, green, flour tortilla. The people next to us ordered what appeared to be a paratha, which may have been the Stuffed Dal Paratha listed on the menu, and we mistakenly thought we were ordering the same. Next time, we're going to try the Stuffed Dal Paratha.
- 2 Roti. These were also like flour tortillas, but somehow more flavorful. We would get them again. Again, this was a mistaken order. We kept seeing the people around us ordering a large, round puffy bread, and we thought these were roti. They weren't.
- Chana Bhatura from the roti menu. We quickly tore through the paratha and roti, so we also ordered Chana Bhatura. These were great. They tasted like they were made from corn or chick pea flour. In any case, they were hot, moist, and flavorful. The Chana Bhatura comes with Chana (chickpeas). Next time, though we may order the Chana again, we will definitely order the Bhatura, which can apparently be ordered separately.
- For vegetables, we ordered Aloo Gobi Mattar (cauliflower and potatoes), Chana Masala (chick peas), and Baigan Bhartha (eggplant). All were good.
- For drinks, we ordered Chaas (buttermilk w/ spices), which was delicious, and Chai, which was good.
Hope this helps :)

- Mustard greens w/ garlic
- Roast Duck and BBQ Pork over rice
The food was very tasty. The service was friendly. The two dishes we ordered were more than we could eat. It was inexpensive too. $15 for both of us.
We would recommend it, though, to be honest, we're still blown away by Grace Garden on Broadway Ave. in Burlingame, where we had dinner last night.
