Two Senoritas Restaurant

Category: Restaurants

5 star rating
 Update - 11/22/2009 1 photo
Back to visit the grandparents!

Always a good time because it usually means going to great places for dinner!

True enough this time as well!

Went to Two Senoritas on Friday for some birthday grub for my grandfather.

As busy as it was downtown as well as inside the restaurant, we were seated right away which was nice.

I noticed on an easel chalkboard as we walked in that fajitas were on special for the night at $8.95! Score!

So the grandmother got chicken, I got steak and the grandfather just got a cheese enchilda, go figure!

Our food was out far faster than I expected: before we could even finish our first bowl of chips! Fat girls love when this happens, you know?

Fajitas were bomb! There was a ridiculous amount of food and I ate nearly all of it! Woot! My steak was a lot better than her chicken so Im glad that I ordered it. Im a fan of red meat...I wont lie!

My pop wasnt happy with his enchilada because it apparently wasnt melted all the way through. We told him to send it back but apparently it wasnt that bad.

And of course, for dessert, we had sopapillas. You just cannot leave without those! Their fluffy, steaming hot, cinnamon sugar goodness dipped in whipped cream is just to die for. No matter how hungry you are, you can always stuff them down...I can at least! (:

Another grandparents favorite so I have been a handful of times and it is always a pleasant experience.

First of all, 'downtown' Sarasota is so beautiful and so clean (quite the opposite of downtown SD) and I LOVE going here. The high rise buildings with retail underneath are amazing. Very swanky.

Now back to the actual place of review.

The service was a little shoddy when we went Wednesday evening. I was not too pleased with that. I could not understand why there were three different servers for one section and it seemed we got the definite dunce of them all.

As far as the food, the chips and salsa are incredible. Being a fat carb lover, if there is bad chips, its a for sure no go.

I ordered on taco with rice and beans, the grandfather ordered one cheese enchilada with rice and beans and the grandmother ordered chicken fajitas.

They were all pretty tasty and came out decently hot.

My taco was completely soggy and had to be eaten with a fork because they let it sit under the warmer too long. I hate when that happens. Luckily there was enough great chips that I could improvise.

For dessert we had sopapillas which are just to die for. And they bring out good whipped cream for you to dip them in. YUM. Exnay on the honey because it tastes like ass.

As long as you dont get a strange waitress and you LOVE chips, you are good to go here!

Diamond Car Wash & Lube

I am not exactly sure what to say about this place.

When I lived in Jacksonville the first time I recall having been here and having not been extremely disappointed in the service.

My visit two days ago, I was not thrilled.

I thought the $5 discount on the $29.99 car wash was nice...but would have been a lot nicer if the car wash was worth it.

My front two floor mats were SOAKED upon entering back into my vehicle. Not just damp, but SOAKED to the point that I had to inquire about whether or not my wash package included an unlisted floor shampoo. No such luck... They were just wet. The fella attempted to vacuum the water off, I presume, which didnt help much but was a decent effort.

After I get in, I notice that neither my shift boot nor the area around it have been touched and are still covered in items. In addition to crumbs, there is oil slick all over my dash and sludge all over my window.

At this point, my friend demands we leave as opposed to me pointing these discrepancies out.

Shat. I hate when this happens...

Yummy Sushi

So to be honest, I am not really that much of a sushi fan.

For one, because usually it is more expensive than my cheap ass wants to pay for anything.

What is great about Yummy is the lunch special during the day. $6.99 for 2 rolls and $9.99 for 3 is a deal that cannot be beat with a stick!

The shrimp tempura roll was the best I have ever had anywhere. Not that Ive had it at 100 places but nonetheless, out of the place I have been to, this was the best.

The spicy tuna roll was really good as well! Yum and yum. Fat girl heaven really, and not that bad for you!! (:

I thought the edamame was a little expensive for what it is. $3.50 for some beans in a basket? Nope!

Service is good. Atmosphere is good. Location is really good. Price is great and I want some shrimp tempura. (:

Yum and yum and yum and yum.

I love soup and salad and sandwich places.

I especially love the deals everywhere where you can get a half a sandwich with a soup or a mini salad, etc. Always a good time for those of us who canNOT ever make up our minds. (:

So since Ive been back in Jax I have actually been here twice. Ironically enough, I happen to currently be here writing my review using their free wifi following my excellent dinner.

The first itme I visited I had half a BLT and baked potato soup. BLT was bomb. Not as good as BBs Deli in San Diego but a decent competetitor.

The soup was incredible also, especially after we had them add bacon bits and cheese. YUM!

Tonight I again had half a BLT, only this time with broccoli cheddar soup.

Again, the BLT was excellent. Bacon was a little wimpy but nothing too crazy.

The soup was awesome as well. We had them add bacon to it also. Fat girls can never have enough bacon. Im a great testament to this.

Besides the great food, free wifi and monster awesome cookies, the fact that we have about 20 $3 off coupons makes it all the better.

Our average price for lunch with a sweet tea is under $6. Holla!

Definitely has become one of what will be my new regulars on my extended visit back in Florida.

Having been living in California for a few years now I have developed a love for fish tacos.

Maybe the ones Ive chosen to frequently have (South Beach Bar and Grill) does it different but these fish tacos were none like I have ever had before.

It was fried fish in two corn tortillas with cabbage and a special sauce. It was pretty good even though I hate corn tortillas.

And does every place in Houston have chip/salsa bars? I wish this idea would catch on to the rest of the world. Its damn genius...especially for those of us super fat, carb cravin, chip lovin girls. (:

Overall, none of the places I went to in Houston were bad but nothin to 'write home about'

At this place, it is hard to even eat a meal!

I had just been griping about how there is not a place in San Diego that serves queso...

ENTER CHUYS!

Its difficult to even retain room for a meal here with the free queso bar.

You can get yourself chips, salsas, and queso with ground beef. YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN NACHOS!!

They were absolutely incredible.

And its good and bad that you can serve yourself because the good is it takes away the waiting time for stupid waitresses. The bad is it takes away from the waiting time for stupid waitresses so you just eat and eat! Hell.

As far as the dinner was concerned, I got the taco/cheese enchilada combination meal and it was quite good.

My taco was INCREDIBLE and I should have definitely gotten two of them as opposed to adding an enchilada.

The enchilada was overly plain, even for a cheese enchilada and the sauce was not anything to write home about. I was not impressed and definitely would not get that again.

The price was decent at $7.99 but overall it was just a lukewarm palce to go once you moved past the queso.

I guess next time were in Houston if we go here we will just stick with the nacho bar!

Im a fan of this simply because oh how beyond exhausted I was upon arriving at this hotel.

My good friend and I embarked on a road trip from San Diego to Jacksonville, Florida and had planned to make our first stop around El Paso.

Upon arriving to El Paso around 1030pm we decided we would find a hotel on the outskirts of town.

...there are NO outskirts of El Paso.

It was 430am (15 hours of driving for me on 1 hour of sleep) before we arrived at this blessed town.

We first went to the Holiday Inn Express. At $99/night we basically told them to shove it. We went to the hotel between Holiday and Comfort and it was $88/night. No thank you either.

Finally we got to Comfort Inn and the fella gave us $66/night which we STILL werent pleased with as we were only going to sleep for four hours but at that point, in the intense state of delirium we were in, we had no choice.

He only had two rooms on the back of the motel which we werent really happy with but the room was nice and it was very clean. It smelled good.

We even got breakfast coupon vouchers which we didnt happen to make use of.

Overall, if I were to get trapped in the under arm backwoods of Texas and needed a place to stay, I might consider here again.

Domino's Pizza

Dont you just love when your sweet grandmother sends you a giftcard to get pizza?

I SURE DO!

So, my Nanny sent me a Dominos card to treat myself and roommates to dinner. So here we go.

To be honest, I typically hate Dominos. I never order delivery pizza and if I ever do, its just not Dominos.

WIth that being said, when I was in Washington a few weeks ago and the only pizza place close to them is indeed, Dominos. They ordered an American Legends Chicken Bacon Ranch. It was incredible and I was hoping for the same result with our Dominos here.

Sure enough!!

We found a deal online for a large American Legends for $12.99 and a medium cheese pizza for $3.99.

They were both AWESOME. I freakin love pizza. For real. All around Fat Girl Goodness.

Our pizza was super hot and super perfect and delicious.

I even suckered the online ordering system and added pepperoni to my cheese pizza for free. Holla!

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and if I ever order delivery pizza again, I might consider Dominos for round two.

I LOVE PIZZZZZZZZZZZZA!!

And I love when pizza Ive never eaten before turns out to be exceptionally good. (:

My friend has been talking about wanting pizza and wanting it from here so on Saturday evening with nothing more to do, off we went!

I prefer to not go to this area for anything but I was pleasantly surprised!

I got a personal BBQ Bird pizza. I am typically a fairly decent eater and I still thought the size was more than sufficient.

The BBQ sauce is excellent. Just the right amount of every flavor. They almost put a little too much on my pizza but strangely enough, every drop disappeared. (:

I love how they rolled the crust around the sauce. I think it would have been really tasty if they rolled cheese in there too but that might be getting a little too crazy.

The chicken was really good but the very best part was the bacon! I didnt even think I would like the bacon and considered not getting any. Luckily I forgot about it when I was ordering because it really was my favorite.

I think the price is okay. Its not any more expensive than any pizza place you will ever go to.

Overall I really liked it. I cant wait for the bf to be back in town so we can go again. (:

Dear everyone,

I have realized throughout my life that I have an insane addiction to Mexican food.

So Thursday night when we needed somewhere to eat, I thought Freds might be a good change of pace.

With that being said i was quite good as usual.

The chips and salsa are super yummy. Whatever magical seasoning they put on there is excellent.

I had a calamari salad with cilantro lime dressing. I know salad at a Mexican food place is confusing but Id eaten a lot of chips...

My salad was awesome. It was fairly plain which I like. The dressing was a little sweeter than I thought which wasnt too bad. The breading on the strips of calamari was beyond delicious. Overall, I branched out and I loved it!

As far as the service, we had the cute little server guy and he did an okay job. A little slow and I had to ask for water which usually ticks me off but I handled the whole situation surprisingly well.

Overall, everything was good. Nothing was pee your pants awesome but what can you expect in PB? (:
