Walking inside it's nothing like what you think you're walking into - it's a pub most assuredly but to have a name like Edinburgh - you would have thought that there would be something Scottish about this place but no. It's a pub and serves alcohol - as long as there is seating and music what does the decor ultimately matter? The hand drawn sign above the bar that night read "Korova Milk Bar" which kept making me giggle and many references were made that night to a certain movie. There are some booths to the right when you come in the front door, more tables and chairs scattered here and there and plenty of stools at the bar. There is a small stage for karaoke and bigger stage up top (so I'm told) for when they have live music. I can't imagine how packed this place must get when it's busy.
Since I'm a good bar patron and knowing it was a slow night - when we were done I took our empty glasses to the bar and got a wink and smile out of the bearded bartender who looked like he wasn't having a good night.
The drinks are strong and cheap - bring a couple friends and make it a party :)
I look forward to going back!
