One day on a dark corner of foothill in sylmar there lurked a large store in the corner (ha) with a large red sign "PET SUPREME", but all seemed dark with no way in. Suddenly, with a little bit of curiousity and a rumor of a wonderful large pet shop stored inside I explored until i found the entrance behind the store with a fairly large parking lot. Through the sliding doors i went and alors! Behold! the rumors were all true, a magnificant store filled with birds, reptiles, fish, and foods and supply!
The wonderful service allowed me to find a healthy holistic choice for my 4 legged friend, not too hard on the wallet either. They even provided me with brochures and more information to compare the dog food brands on my own.

Sometimes me and my little friend can spend a good amount of time just looking at the humungous wall of colorful collars and leashes, spiked or diamond studded. The rows of tropical and fresh water fish along with little crabs an anemones also provide much entertainment. Just the other day I saw a nice juicy looking bearded dragon for sale for $150.

I'd rather come here than big pet store chains. I think on weekends they have cheaper vet visits if you need.

The next thing on my agenda to do at Pet Supreme is get my dog groomed!

I've been eating around this neighborhood a lot recently and i've practically been to everywhere on this corner of the block, but i ALWAYS end up wanting to go to Tasty Burger. If i wanted a quick snack, fries and onion rings are only about $2 each, burger special is a good deal too, $5.95 for a cheeseburgers with their steak fries and a drink. But I totally prefer the shish kabobs and plates instead, because they are really really good.

but if you don't have the extra hands or time to sit down and really enjoy a whole plate, grab a bowl! (chicken or beef), full of grilled onions and peppers stir fried on a bed of their fluffy rice.

The owners seem rough of the edges, but they have really appreciate the business you give them and remember you. I call my orders in and they remember my number and know that I'll be coming in soon. if i don't have enough cash, they'll let me come back the next day to pay for it (but that's only because they know i'll be back, and i'll end up ordering more food...but its good so why not)

cute, quaint, but not much selection of anything.
if you want a groom for your pal, call ahead of time. we thought it would be nice to give our little gal a groom during our weekend cabin trip, but it was booked for the next 2 weeks.
Ha, yeah right most people come here for vacation, so forget it.
also, my dog stopped pooping after eating one of their treats for 3 days.

but hey i'm not hating, i'm just saying.

Holy moly great tamales! I'm new to the Pacoima and I've been trying all the great mexican food in the area and this has got to be one of my favorites. They're only open from 5am-10am so if you want some, you gotta get up and plan for it (especially if you have work in the mornings).
The result? Every morning I'll unconsiously wake up alittle and check the time and realize that if every time i checked it was before 10am...i'd say to myself "must...get...tamales.." which then leads me into a scattered row of restless dreams of waking up, running to rosy's tamales, and ordering 2 pollo en salsa verde (I believe has the most flavor, and i love heat in my food! not to mention sauce since i can drink sauces alone because i love them so much), and then continuing to eat one tamale on the way home while i save the other one for a delicious snack time later on in the day.
Now that little mini dream repeats itself in a couple different ways: sometimes i'll walk there with my dog, other times i speed over in a car, and other times i will order 7 of them.

Then....i wake up and its 10:15am..WHAT A NIGHTMARE!

maybe I'll actually get up and get a treasured delicious tender to the cut tamale 1 out of ever 5 restless dreams..

Today I actually made it, and the tamale was the freshest i've ever had it, it was steaming hot and completely freshly made. It tasted better than all my dreams combined! I think this will just lead me to having 10x more dreams of tamales until the next time....PS, it was so hot i couldn't even hold it in the car while i tried to eat it on the way to work. But i somehow champed through it anyways because it was SO WORTH IT!

Great location! Finally a great yogurt shop that can satisfy my need for something sweet and healthy. So many toppings too! I love the popping boba (juce poppers), coco puffs, granola, and fruits. i can put as much as i want in any order that i want. and can it be? their yogurt is so much creamier with so many more flavors than the other yogurt shops around (yogurt land...pinkberry..menchies..) And their crepes are made hot and fresh right in front of you.

If i could, I would give it 5 more stars for their amazing service, the staff makes you feel like you're old friends and they can't wait to help you out and see you come back again. and they're kinda cute too :)

again, i was a dumb dumb freshmen who did not understand the treasures of isla vista. NO other bagel place has ever come close to bagel cafe, ever. the melts and the sandwiches?! EVERYTHING GOOD I WILL WAIT IN LINE I WILL (try) TO WAKE UP EARLY! they close early afternoon..or when they run out of their fresh baked bagels.

now opened late on weekends! blargh yum mrwar

Cheaper than most big brand pet stores, larger variety. When I leave, I can pick up samples of dog food, perfect for when my baby is on the go and hungry!

Okay, i was a child when i wrote my first reviews. i had just started my career out in sb and I didn't like potatoes and my eggs had to be a certain way....but what i realized after 5 of the best years of my life is that....

Super cucas breakfast burritos are so good!!! 9 times out of 10 I would choose cucas over freebirds! Freebirds is for the noobs...all the OG isla vister's head on down to cucas! 24 hours on the weekends. best salsa in all of IV (even though they don't have the bbq salsa from Freebirds)

Ranchero burrito: bacon, chorizo, egg, potatoes
Macho burrito: beef, egg, bacon, macho salsa
Carne asada fries: crispy french fries smothered in guac, sour cream, and all the things you would find on your nachos.

SUPER CUCAS FOR THE WIN! plus, you won't be spending an outragous $12 like you would be at freebirds.

PMC: Peppers, Mushroom, and cheese! all topped with their tomato sauce over their succulent sliced philly steak. The mushrooms are so tender with their fragrant bell peppers and onions. And the french fries! FAVORITE FRENCH FRIES IN ALL OF ISLA VISTA! Mambo cambo me please mr. george mcmaster! crispy, fresh, add some cheese and chili?! hubba hubba hubba!

PS: Their borscht soup is to die for. I came in (slightly un-sober) and begged them to have it again! and ever since then, they give me a call every time a batch of borscht is hot off the stove. Another soup that ranks very high up there: creamy tomato soup. 5 stars for food! 5 more stars for service! Absolutely the best service ever. George McMasters, his lovely wife who cooks behind the counter (they have the cutest relationship, they joke about how she's always the cook and the brains behind everything, and he gets to oggle at her beauty, i think they've been together for a awhile) and his son works the night shift. Every now and then they throw in a free soda.

fun fact: lots of pickled chilis for the taking, and home made ranch! they fill those honey bottles shaped like teddy bears full of ranch, and for some reason...the ranch is even better that way.

When I come here, I spend about $10

Booze. Candy bins (candy by the pound). Munchies.
Opens the latest, very very strict on ID, free lighter with a pack.

That about sums it up. What else can I say?
