Wow!  What a treat!  I am not really into "sweets", but these are great.  What a nice find while walking around the harbor.  And Catherine is a sweetheart!

We were short a girl for the front entrance of a party we were throwing.  Polly Martini came through in a big way!  Not only did a girl show up on time, but she was professional, trustworthy and fun.  Polly herself even showed up later in the night to make sure everything was ok.  BEST service PERIOD!  We will use again.

After almost 3 years of Yelping, I have finally given up!  Originally, I loved the concept.  But now, after over 600 reviews, the company has completely lost their focus on their core market: real people, real reviews.  Yelp has become a free forum for others to openly degrade others and an advertising churn for the original founders (to make tons of money of course).  I know of several business owners who have complained that their reviews were being removed for no clear reasons.  Who was Yelp supposed to help?  

Bottom line: I took pride in a local company making it big and helping support them.  Unfortunately, Yelp has become just another lame, greedy company who will no longer get my support.

This is probably the biggest downtown hotel I have ever stayed at.  It takes up one full square block with three towers.  We were given an upgraded corner suite in Tower one with an incredible view.  The room was very clean and the staff was accomodating.  If it weren't for the outrageous prices in the room service menu, I would have given 5 stars.  Overall, a good value for a room if you don't order room service.

Salt Lake has some "interesting" parts of town.  Hilton is in a good part.  The room was very nice and entrance to the building was very clean.  Ordered a sandwhich with room service and it was up in 30 minutes flat.  Very tasty.  The price is about 20% more than other 5 star hotels in SLC, but I think this place is the best of all of them.  Overall, a good value.

I have been here 3 times now.  If it weren't for knowing some really cool people that work there, I doubt I would go.  Basically, the place is huge.  Three main dance/lounge areas.  One and 1/2 on the main level and two in the basement.  Not sure if there is something on floor 2.  There is also a pretty good restaurant on the north side of the building.  House is generally played in the main area and "other" downstairs.  The on thing that really bothers me about Temple is that they don't serve Red Bull.  Overall, nice place with decent music.

What a nice treat!  Whoever came up with the idea of setting up a quaint ice rink in the middle of Union Square this year did a great job!  Lot's of people outside skating, laughing, falling and just plain having fun.  Great break from shopping.  I hope they have this again next year.

A friend invited us to have dinner at Morton's last night.  First thing that surprised me about this place was that it was packed on a Wednesday night.  Not that it would be an abnormal thing to see a crowded restaurant during the week.  But to see a very expensive restaurant completely booked in a recession was what shocked me.  

We were already walking around Union Square and so the location was perfect.  I also liked the fact that it is downstairs and felt "homey" with a fireplace and dark colors.  From the person who opened the door for us to the bartender who served the drinks to the hostess and the waitress - everyone was very professional and attentive.  Our waitress did an incredible job on explaining the specials and covering the menu.  Each item from the menu was shown "in the raw" on a cart before ordering.  Including desert.  We also ordered some very nice wine which was recommended by the host.  Overall, the presentation up until the actual meal was perfect.  Now, the reasons for only 3 stars.  The biggest is the price.  I can appreciate how much great service and freshly prepared, quality food can cost.  But $107 for steak and lobster, $30 for a 4 shrimp cocktail and $16 for potatoe hashbrowns are way over board.  For 4 persons, the bill came to over $500 (including tip).  The waitress definately deserved the 25% gratuity, but the restaurant did not deserve the $450 for the meal.  I have paid this much before for a quality dinner, but I am sad to say, that the food was not worth the high price tag.  Each of our dinners were somewhat dry.  This goes for both the steaks and fish selection.  Not to say that it wasn't good - it was.  But it wasn't great.  

I will probably come back again.  But not with friends.  This is one of those types of places, for me, that a sales guy takes his customers to.

The burgers are just "ok".  Not really worth 8 bucks each.  But the reason for the 4 stars was the service.  VERY friendly people work here and made up for the average food.  Location isn't too bad either.
