holy cow, this place is freaking adorable! Sure it's a little on the pricier side, but it's highly specialized, niche marketing, so I don't really fault them for that.
Last time I was there I came back with earl-grey tea chocolates, lavender shortbread cookies, and a chocolate cupcake with raspberry frosting that was completely amazing.

Also its in a wonderful location, with a small park next to it that people take their dogs to play at. My roommate and I got our sweets and then sat in the park watching the puppies and enjoying our treats. It was wonderful and I can't wait to go back.

YOU GUYS!

YOU GUYS!!!!!

THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!!!

I'm not going to lie, sometimes you just want to be a fatty and get freaking huge thing of fries. And you can totally do that and THEN get all kinds of amazing dipping sauces for them.

Silly me, I had only ever had fries with regular ketchup or with ranch dressing!

THEY HAD CURRY KETCHUP! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND ALL THAT IS HOLY! HOW HAVE I LIVED WITHOUT THIS?!?!?!

Also they have mango ice tea which basically AMAZING, I wanted to go right back to it the next day, but I didn't want them to get the wrong idea about me... or something.

Yeah, okay, it's full of hipsters and parking is and EXTREME pain in the ass, but it's delicious and I can't knock the fact that while I was there they played Depeche Mode, the Smiths, The Cure, and Echo and The Bunnymen. I can brave hipsters for that.

On the Bridge

I love on the bridge, what's more I've loved it for about eight years now, since I would go in to eat there before I had moved into the city, there is a very nice fusion of western and European food, all occurring under the branch of Japanese cuisine. Which results in amazing things like wa-fu of yon-fu pizza, or  Japanese spaghetti with garlic soy sauce and mixed Japanese mountain vegetables. My personal favorite.
The serving can be a bit hit and miss, but it is a family owned business that has made itself an institution in J-town, which I think I will continue you to give my patronage to because I bloody love it.

Mission Pie

Update - 10/13/2009
I recently went back to Mission Pie with my parents. One again the mixed berry pie was incredible, but what changed my rating of 4 stars to a new one of 5 is the banana cream pie.

Seriously, it is the closest to bliss you're likely to get. The horrible parking be damned, I would walk on hot coals for the Banana cream pie!

I would like to start out by saying that I am probably a little biased because I love pie more then I love most things.
On that account it did not disappoint, the mixed berry pie was a little slice of heaven, the pumpkin pie was not as good as some I've had other places, but I am pumpkin pie snob, and this was still damn good pumpkin pie.
They have AMAZING tea, black tea with rose petals was amazing, and I love how eco-friendly they are.
My only complaint being that parking is irritating, I *HATE* metered parking, but I would still put up with the annoyance for this place.
I can't wait to go back, because I feel that after all the rave reviews I HAVE to try the banana cream pie.

Really really good! I love all the vegetarian recreations of traditionally meat dishes. I got a dish that was black mushroom, tofu, wheat gluten, and chinese greens. DELICIOUS! Also the curry triangles are just lovely.
And lunch for $7.95, can I get a HELL YEAH?
The staff is really friendly, and helpful, and parking be fairly easily found on the street.
I'm definitely going to be coming back here.

Okay okay okay, can you say AMAZING? This place as rare Asian ice cream flavors you can get other places like Taro, Lychee, and red bean.
I got coconut, taro, and green tea, it was AMAZING!!!!
Parking sucks a little bit, and there's not much seating, but it's worth it!

Extreme Pizza

I can safely say that Extreme Pizza has ruined me for all other delivery pizza.
Okay, so it usually takes awhile to arrive, but it is ALWAYS worth the wait. The "Green with Envy" and "Screaming Tomato" are sooooo good.
It's a teeny bit expensive in comparison to big chain pizza delivery places, i.e. Pizza hut, but it is DELICIOUS and the slices are HUGE.
Plus you can order online, which is great for people like me who don't like to use their phone.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I LOVE IT!!!!!!
I have been going to Evita's since I could walk, and since moving away from Ventura I miss it like a bad habit.
The Los Tres burrito is amazing as are the nachos, and don't even get me started on how much I love the friggin salsa.
Everyone is really nice, you can always find parking, and it is SUPER cheap.

The grilled salmon and fusili with pesto, and the fruity nuttella crepe are just AMAZING. I love this place.
Probably one of my most frequent haunts in San Francisco. The atmosphere and service are great.

Do you know how awesome this place is? Its so Awesome they even have a VEGAN burrito, which, by the way, is delicious. As is their peach ice tea and their strawberry Margarita.
The look of the place is friggin amazing, I tell you what. With everything from paper mache owls hanging from the ceiling, to fun fact place mats, to chairs with different names on the back of them. I love this place, no really, I do.
It is often pretty busy, like a lot of places in West Portal, and parking can be a drag, but dude, it's worth it.
