It definately has a college/young crowd vibe, but I've never had a terrible experience here. In fact, the couple times I've been have actually been a lot of fun with friends.

Regardless of my inability to make an actual decision, she was super friendly and gave me a card with some of the scents I picked out in case I wanted to come back. I haven't been back yet (it's nearly impossible for me to pick perfume, let alone make one!) but hey, I tried and she certainly helped me out.

They have their staple products, but I always seem to find new and interesting things when I go in. It's not just the same-ol' gift shop everytime. It's a big store so be prepared to spend some time browsing if it's your first time in.
The gift wrapping is also very cute!

Why then only 3 stars? I've never personally found anything that I liked enough to buy here. (I have been in twice, maybe third time is the charm?)

Then alas, he asked and I made my first visit after all those months walking by. The women were so friendly, giving me wedding advice as we looked at the shoes and jewelry. It was too early for me to pick out anything then, but I'm definately going to go back when the big day gets closer to take a serious look at the jewelry and hair pins.
Also, they have a bunch of cute little wedding inspired gifts in there as well. So, if you knew someone newly engaged, you could probably find them a little gift here.

If you like butter cream frosting, this is the place to go. It's sugar-coma-inducing in a good way.
Every time I've been in here, it's packed but they do a good job of getting you what you want/ letting you know they will help you in a minute. The staff is VERY friendly. It's also nice that they have other treats besides cupcakes such as bars, cookies, brownies and other sweet creations.
Get a "dirt cup." It'll make you feel like the happiest 2nd grader on the planet.
Everyone had a great time - the beer was cheap and the Micheladas (sp?) were awesome. It's one of their specialties: Tecate mixed with a house blend of spices to form a very original, spicy beer. Lined with salt and served with lime. A+
We camped out near the little kitchen window, and it's certainly too bad I didn't come more hungry. The little tacos and other dishes waltzing by looked (and SMELLED) delicous. Several friends ordered 1 or 2 and were very happy.
I'm going back here with a group of girlfriends to eat this weekend and I'm really looking forward to it. Let's hope they don't make us stand in line, that's just cruel in the Chicago winter...
PS. You have to order food to get a table. If you want one, make sure you get your name on the list by finding the hostess. And the tables are huge, this place would be good for a big group.

Ikea

I. LOVE. IKEA. My entire apartment is furnished with IKEA goodies(sans a couple Target items and a foosball table where a table from IKEA should be)
I really like the layout of this IKEA, I hear they are not all the same. It's easy to manuveur around in it, even with the large Saturday crowds.
The only thing I will not buy from IKEA is sheets, that is something you have to spend real money on and can't get for cheap. They shrink like crazy, are scratchy and just not worth it. But everything else you get my blessing to buy.

Lazlo's In the Haymarket
Category: American (Traditional)
The favorite dish I've ever ordered was the chicken kabob. The wheat beer was different, but a-ok overall.
Date
Iggy was not helpful (in fact, as a "manager" he made it WORSE, not better) and Sarah S. our server was rude and overly rushed from the beginning.
This place is a great concept with awesome decor, but my group sadly had an awful experience. I will probably not be back.
