I love and look forward to my weekend dates with the Kook! He is my running start/end and my excitement is not only is he known as "The Kook", but he's a surfer and there's almost always and antic that someone has put on him. He is my running and SD highlight.

Compared to the LV RnR - I absolutely loved this run. There were less people, good course, good aid, the people were EXTREMELY friendly and the ability to pick up my Double Down was *AWESOME*. Unfortunately I did not make the Expo...I literally ran in 5 mins before the Expo closed but still managed to get my loot (WOOT) and the organized transportation from the sponsored hotels were most awesome! I would run it again, except I personally am not a fan of the dry weather...but I could be tempted. Killer experience and highly recommend the course at least once and every year for the locals! Keep on Rockin'!

CMR In-N-Out is the best....clean, sweet/cool staff and the food is always perfect. We come here often and dealing with a food allergy. We require no cross contamination with cheese, a clean grill and high maintenance attention...CMR is ALWAYS attentive to what we need to ensure my son's safety is of utmost important. They have even delivered his food directly to him and separated from the rest of ours to double ensure there is no cross contamination by the manager. LOVE IT! Thank you CMR In-N-Out...we sooooo appreciate it!

I won't like....I haven't personally been here. But my son's dad takes him here to get his haircut by Andy and my boy always comes back with the most tight cut ever...and....the boy LOVES Andy. The price is right, the technique is legit....check him out, but be prepared to have to wait for a bit!

Oh my goodness....I ****HEART**** Seaside Market. Not only do I make it a point as the end of my runs so that I can pop in here, I will run from work to here to pick up some of their goodness. This is definitely a specialty market seasoned with a little bit of every day stuff. The fresh seafood is UNBEATABLE! The deli is UNBEATABLE....UNBEATABLE I tell ya, the gelato selection...yes, it kicks ass too along with the cheeses! They carry a lot of items that you would not find in the typical Vons/Albertsons/Ralphs - tailoring to more of the specialty foods and "nature'ish" type vibe. The staff is super chill and cool yet knowledgeable, just like all of Cardiff and it's location is uber supreme. I love it here...there's a nice little outside area that you can sit and enjoy your goods and watch the locals and campers cruise by...it rocks!

There is absolutely NOTHING that I dislike about Wahine Kai Shave Ice. The creative concoctions kick butt, the staff is like family, the visitors are like family....seriously this place kicks some serious butt. My favorite thing...is the Christian rock music that plays. Unless you are familiar with it, you don't really recognize it except for cool, happy music - but the fact that there is a faith driven background, makes me love Wahine Kai 10x more! Whatever you get...add lychee and the salty plum sprinkle stuff....li hing something or other....just like in Hawaii! *HEART*  My only beef...is it's a little pricey, but no more than what you would pay for in a restaurant, so eat at home and go out for dessert, that's what we do!

I picked up a killer Groupon for here and for the most part we really enjoyed the experience, the vibe, the service, etc....but the food was just "meh". The hamburger had much to be desired - we requested medium and got well....WELL. The burger was semi ruberry, boyfriend normal fries were le foul and just not much to rave about beyond the chill vibe. As mentioned the service was exceptional, our server was extremely tentative, the staff was friendly and there seemed to be a lot of regulars there. The beer selection was definitely good, but it is not top on my list for returns unless it's convenient.

Wow. I am shocked to see that the reviews for Chef Chin are so low. I went here with my daughter on a day that she was feeling blue and I was feeling...well....hung over. I was on a craving for wontons so we jumped in the car and off we went to check out Chef Chin...we didn't even know it was called that we just remembered seeing a sign that said noodles. It was a Sunday, we weren't sure if they were open yet...but sure enough they were. We were promptly greeted and seated for lunch. The ladies spoke Chinese AND English, which was nice and the menu was in both languages but there were no details as to a description of the items. Didn't matter. I knew enough about Chinese food to work my way through the menu :) But where were the wontons???? Not served until late in the day! Say what?!?!!? So bummed :( That's okay, a reason to go back on another day, right? So I went with my second favorite item...moo shu pork and my mini-me got sweet and sour shrimp. Since this was part of the lunch special it came with soup, fresh fruit, fried rice and.....I think that's it. Everything that was delivered was extremely tasty, especially teh rice that had pepper and I think lemon hints in it. Food was phenomenal!

The decor was simple and nice, much more than I expected. The bathrooms were nice, but something about them made them a little outdated, not sure what. The staff was kinda and the service was kinda slow, but they got REALLY busy. And my way of telling how good a place is, especially in the Asian arena, is how many authentics are there to enjoy the food. Yes. I can make that statement as I am Asian. And I won't eat at a place unless it tastes like food that grandma made. I can't wait to return - it was definitely more than I expected!

Gasper's Casual Italian Dining and Pizzeria

Thank you Yelpers for this great little find. I was out there to run the PF Changs RnR and was over by the hoity-toity mall but none of the nearby restaurants were appealing. Opened up Yelp and came across this little nearby gem. Directions were super easy to get to. From the outside this place looks completely questionable. I thought at first that there must have been a mistake but once you open the doors and step in...AHHHmazing!

We were greeted right away by a friendly lady who actually didn't "work" there but was there to help out. She continually stopped by to see how we were doing and compared notes on our items. The table next to us were friends with our waiter, which was slightly annoying as they were young college kids that kept interrupting while we were talking with him, but this is definitely a family owned business.

The decor is rich and luxurious without being overpowering and the same applies to the food from the calamari to the pasta with mushrooms and my daughters ravioli. The crostini was divine and the cannoli (which was a fresh batch) left me speechless. The college boys next to us got the calzones....Oh.Em.Gee....HUGE and looked so good.

Go to Gaspers, you won't go wrong. The service was not "slow" but it's the Italian way...enjoy your time dining, enjoy the company, enjoy the experience, and drink it all in as you sip on a glass of wine. We were there for maybe a bit longer but it was worth it, it's not Olive Garden, and thank goodness it's not. Thank you Gasper's for leaving a lasting impression of Phoenix. Would love to see a location in San Diego....just saying ;)

The Reserve at 4S Ranch

Category: Apartments

1.0 star rating

The Reserves could easily be a 5 star place to live IF they had put some quality into sound proofing. The apartments and property are extremely nice. The main pool is nice, the gym is satisfactory, there's a movie room, nice little rec room, the location is premium, the apartments themselves are very nice with upgrades from granite counter tops, crown molding, decent paint, tall ceiling and stone flooring. Aspects that are cheap - carpet, cabinetry, washers and dryers. But over all they are nice in comparison to other properties and I like the layouts. I do not care so much that my view is of the building across from me and the playground, nor do I care for the fact that the garages are so narrow I'm constantly concerned about pulling into it and scraping my car.

Main and primary reason I gave The Reserves 1 star (and if I could put zero I would) is the sound issues and the fact that this has been an ongoing issue for sooooooo long and I'm still being forced to deal with it, with 5 months remaining in my lease. I'm fairly tolerant and I respect and understand having kids, I have 2 of my own, but living above someone with no regards to "quiet hours" is complete BS and not enough support from property management. Sending frequent reminders to mind your manners is not satisfactory, not when we're the ones losing sleep. My kids have been woken up at night, I have been woken up or just not able to sleep due to the noise upstairs. It's almost 11 and they are up there cleaning, walking on the patio in heels, slamming their washer and dryer doors, etc....that's NOT how you behave in an apartment community. They aren't stupid, we pay $2200 a month if not more, pending your unit for a 3 br....get a effin' clue and STHU! I've been done dealing with the property mgmt on a regular occurrence, otherwise it would be every night....and I'm not messing with security as when I've called them before it's a 45 mins turn around.

So move here at your own risk. Noise SUCKS. I don't ever hear my side neighbors but unless you are on the top floor or have neighbors that are above you that understand and respect the fact they are above someone else or opt for one of the 2 br townhomes type units....you could be very miserable here.

Oh yea, one other major negative: Pesticides. I'm not even sure if there is pesticide control in place. We have experienced a large number of spiders (includ a black widow), mice (one found dead on m patio) and ants.

I can't wait for my lease to end and to get the hell out. My first year here was okay, the neighbors got it - letting your kids jump off the bed and displace every single picture on my walls is not cool...however since they've left and these new tenants have moved, the last 6 months or so have been horrible....especially for the price.
