I came here during their Axe "Girl-Approved Hair" Promotion, so my haircut was free. After going to a bunch of places around town to get my haircut (Aveda Academy, Coach & 4, etc), Nogginz is probably the best for the shallow-pocketed, style-minded college guy. These people know what they're doing, and they're very friendly as well. In addition, the Axe promotion was a great way to drive more people into the store.
This place JUST opened over the weekend where the old candy store used to be. WOW this pizza is fantastic. I got a specialty pizza slice for just $1.75, and over at NYPD it would've probably cost $3. As well, the owner of the place came in while I was eating, asked me how it was, and thanked me for coming in. Although it's just my first impression at this point, I really like the pricing, quality, and service. Backroom might have a serious competitor to deal with...
Despite the pricey cocktails and poor service, these drinks are fantastic. Definitely a great place to go in light moderation. I sampled the Pomojito and Midnight Mint cocktails, and both were fantastic! However, I definitely felt discriminated against because my girlfriend and I were clearly younger than the other clientele. After not being helped sitting at a booth opposite the bar for ~5min, trying to get the attention of the waitress helping the surrounding tables, I went up to the bar to order our drinks. It took me about 5-7min to get them after I ordered them, and two other bartenders who didn't take my order ask me if I was being helped already. The bar was far from packed, and the guy who took my order spent half the time chatting with who appeared to be regulars sitting at the bar. Still, the wait was worthwhile and like I said, the drinks were perhaps the best cocktails I've had on Main street.
This place is very cool and trendy, definitely appropriately situated on Main street. I've been there only on Saturdays, and the only thing I didn't like was that I felt 5-10 yrs younger than everyone... but this is to be expected since I have only recently turned the big 2-1. I especially like the lighting on the walls and at the bar, it creates a very cool vibe. However the music felt too young; top 40 and hip hop dance remixes made me feel like I was back on South U and not on Main. Maybe some jazz or salsa woulda topped it off right.

Smart Bar

Smart Bar possesses one of the best clientele I have ever danced alongside at an electronic event. Everyone's there for the music. As well, this place has the best resident DJs in the midwest. All in all a fantastic place with great people and great music.

If you have any interest in music, this place is very cool, with great architecture and awesome r&r artifacts. Being both a music junkie and one who puts way too much value on small, sentimental artifacts, I drool when I walk past stuff like MJ's glove from the 80s or a pair of drumsticks from U2's Joshua Tree tour.
I hate to admit it, but I had one of the greatest laughs of my life when I was in middle school (10+ yrs ago) and I went here with a bunch of my mischievous friends. We were up on the top floor overlooking the gift shop 3 stories down, and my buddy had a bunch of tick tack mints. We proceeded to drop the mints down and hit innocent adults in the gift shop. Usually we missed, but my buddy hit this bald guy on the very top of his head, and his reaction was probably one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life. It was only of the few times in my life I actually had to take a knee I was laughing so hard.

This is the best Mexican food in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. Not the most popular place to go on Cinco de Mayo because it doesn't have a dancefloor, but if you're looking for great Mexican, this is the place to go. I get something different every time and I've never been disappointed.

Every time I come back from school, I ache for Sierra Station. Probably the best Mexican on the east side. Get the three-enchilada dinner. And the place is even cooler now once they got new TVs. One of the better places to go out for dinner in GP and not break the bank.
Similar to Blue Front, this place is overpriced because it's so darn close to campus. Nonetheless, I always get a kick out of the staff there because they all look like they're pissed off and they hate life. I also feel like they look like the bad guys from any James Bond movie, if you catch my drift. But I'm sure they're nice at heart.

I've been purchasing alcohol here since I was 19, and Suni/Kumar are awesome dudes. However they definitely milk the whole location utility thing... beer/wine is very overpriced, but that's what you get when you're underage and you can't travel off-campus.
