I love Fremont Abbey, I really do. I've been here a few times for various different concerts and really enjoyed my time there and the whole experience. One show was downstairs/main level and the sound was OK but had great seats and no bad view no matter where you sat. The 'bar' and snack station is also downstairs, they do offer a few beers (local!) and wines for the 21+ as well as other non-alcoholic beverages. Their housemade chai is hands down the BEST chai I have had in the Greater Seattle Area. Their chai is the reason this review exists. It balances between sweet, spicy and creamy without being more of one than the others. My boyfriend absolutely hates chai and he gets it at the Abbey every time.

Their upstairs hall is huge and very open. You can take your drinks upstairs which is nice. I came here for The Round on Valentine's Day and while not every seat upstairs has a great view (especially if you sit behind someone with very large and poofy hair) it still has fantastic acoustics. If you don't know what the Round is, it's a mix of slam poetry, live paintings, and various musicians where each musicians has a turn at performing and that concludes one Round. After each Round, a slam poet comes up and performers. During the entire night the painters create works of art which are then auctioned off at the end of the night. It's a fantastic event the Abbey holds every second Tuesday every month, I definitely will go to more of these.

The staff are extremely friendly every time I have attended an event there. I recommend going to a show here, and don't forget to order their chai!

So. I didn't have the best experience here, but I feel like I *should* like this place, so maybe I'll go back...but maybe not.

I walk in with the Boyfriend and Roommate and the bartender lady immediately asked for our ID's, which we hand over. Then we sit directly across the bar in a booth, set my stuff down, and go back to the bar to order food/drinks. She asked to see my ID again. Um, ok. I don't mind, it was just...awkward.
I then placed my order for a Porter (YUM) and then wanted to try their Shorty Dog. And then the unthinkable happened....

The bartender lady used her BARE HANDS and man-handled my hot dog and bun. With her hands. Her bare hands. Her hands that were smoking a cigarette outside less then twenty minutes later, which only makes me believe she smoked sometime before touching my food.

I was disgusted. And shocked. And just took the food and beer and sat down.

Don't ever touch my food with your bare hands. Ever ever ever ever ever.

No bueno.

Holy Strong Cocktails, Batman!

This place is awesome. They have amazing drinks (and, um, stiff ones too.) I came here for the Pearl Jam CD/Vinyl release party and luckily got there an hour beforehand and got a table. The place got SO packed!

I ended up getting two drinks, the aptly named Earl Jam and then something with cloudberry jam in it, forgot the name though. Both were good. Saddened by their lack of beer selection on draft...

I ended up getting tipsy and needed some food, so I got their sweet potato fries. Those are ridiculously good and their honey/dijon sauce is superb! Has a nice kick to it.

Service was sub-par, but I'll be nice and say it was because it was so busy at the event.

Bathrooms are small, but the Blondie memorabilia makes up for it somehow.

Great music memorabilia all over the joint.

**Whoever stole two of their Tiger Beat magazines at the Pearl Jam event: YOU SUCK. Return them dude!**

Dude. Go get your butt down to the ferry, talk a lil' trip on over to Bainbridge, and get to Eleven Winery. Now.

Ok, well if not now, then like next weekend.

They do tastings for uber cheap, and you can pick what ones you want to try. I ended up buying a bottle of their Pinot Gris Port (yes! a white port!) and it is SUPERB! Very, very, very sweet and perfect dessert wine.

The lady that was working was super nice and could basically be Anna Farris' twin. :)

OH! They have a lovely little Simpsons' themed chess set too, so you can try to look all smart while sippin' on your vino.

Silver Spoon Thai Restaurant & Bar

I thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Silver Spoon.

I'm a bit lenient when it comes to new places, I typically give them the benefit of the doubt for the first couple visits and the first few months of being open. After all, they usually need to find the right staff and personalities and dishes that all work together, right?

Well, I didn't feel like Silver Spoon needed that 'extra' time.

I ordered the Garlic Beef dish for dinner, my boyfriend got their Tofu Phad Thai, and my friend got something else ( I forgot, whoops.) My dish was by far the winner at the table. It was absolutely delicious and I was beyond stoked when I had leftovers the next day :D Their phad thai is not the best, but definitely not the worst I've had. We did order the Crab Delight as an appetizer, of which it came AFTER we already began eating our entrees....hmm.

I got the Thai Iced Coffee, YUM! I've had this before at other places, and man they give you a large glass here! My friend got their chai, that was tasty.

They do have a pretty decent selection of draft beers.

Decor is great, very nice and elegant with live pianist and a huge fish tank. The decor is weird in the sense that it doesn't seem to flow throughout the restaurant... the bathrooms don't look like they belong there at all :/

I was a tad put-off by the large amounts of kids running around, it made me extremely happy that the hostess asked us if we'd like to be in the Bar. Yes please.

Will definitely be back for a nice date night with the Man soon, and to hopefully try out the HH :)

Klesick Family Farm Inc

Klesick is by far the best CSA I have ever encountered.

I'm a typical broke college chick, so I can't exactly afford the upfront cost of buying a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) share, and Klesick makes buying local/organic very affordable and easy for me.

They allow you to pay when you want a box. You are not required to get a box every week, or every other week, only when you want to.

They have a great selection of different sized boxes, I get the Family (roughly feeds 2-4 people) and it's a tad over $30. I know I'm getting great quality produce and have yet to ever be disappointed with any products I have received.

What's also cool about them is that you can go online and check out what will be in your next week's box, so you can decide if you want to order or not!

They also give you a recipe that correlates with something in your box that always sounds uber tasty!

So if one of your New Year's Resolutions was to eat more local and healthier in 2011, go to Klesick's website and give them a chance.

I loveloveLOVE this place.

I always come here for their eclectic chocolate choices, as well as some phenomenal deli meats & cheeses. Parmesan salami? Why YES.

It's a great Russian place, but has some other ethnic gems as well. About 85% of the items I can't read the labels, so it's kind of a fun game to play while shopping, "What flavor is this?!"
I highly recommend swinging by this place just for funsies, but also for some amazing salamis or high alcohol beers :D

People working are always nice to me, I'm guessing they own the joint.

Great place to have that is less then 2 minutes from my house!

I'm not a huge fan of Starbucks. I always feel like their coffee is usually too bitter, or burnt. I also am a sucker for white chocolate mochas, and Starbucks' version is disgusting.

However. They make a maple macchiato and a caramel brulee latte that are pretty dang tasty. So I'll be a customer whenever those are in season ;)
And imagine my surprise when I tried to check-In via my phone here and there were no reviews!

Had a Sister Day and came here for a quick bite to eat with the sisters. Got some kind of chicken burger that involved avocadoes and bacon and pepperjack. It was VERY tasty. Highly recommend! Their fries were ridiculously tasty, I love crunchy fries but not so crunchy you might break tooth, and these were perfect.

My sister ordered a Guinness, and when it came I noticed that the head/foam had a shamrock in it. Um, awesome.

So, I've only been here once but daaaaaaamn am I happy.
My boyfriend and roommate co-bought me a giftcard here so I could get a cut & color done, and I was very impressed with this place.

Kalyn and Noah are the A-Team when it comes to crazy-curly-hair.

Klayn did a great job on telling me exactly what she was doing the entire time, she's very funny and personable. She did an amazing job on giving me natural highlights without me looking all stripe-y (yknow what i mean...)

Noah was so fun and spunky :)
She has curly hair too, so she did a great job at giving me a cut that wouldn't make me look ridiculous. She gave me layers so I'd have volume when I straightened my hair too.

She also styled my hair all sexy-like :)

Thanks ladies!
