Temescal Farmers Market

Temescal Farmer's Market - take Podfather and Phoenix around once - Phoenix loves to eat the samples of fruit and cheese - and I case out the joint, seeing what I want to buy.
Drop dad and son at the Frog Park - which is literally a 2 minute walk away. They play, and I go back around to buy some stuff.
Ample, free parking.
Nice.

2. An entire hall/auditorium area as indoor playground.
3. Toys to play with, ride on, rocking horses, slides, lots of cars, climbing areas, jumping mats, playdough, ball pit -- everything.
Phoenix' eyes went wide and for the first 10 mins he was holding my hand as we explored. Then he struck out on his own.
Free play first, then about 15 mins of structured activity - including art projects, juice and crackers, stories and songs, bubbles and parachute.
I went for the 1 hour drop in class ($10) and then stayed for the next hour ($5). Dawn, who leads the group, is amazing - the kids love her and she gave a warm and welcoming energy to me as a new mom.
We're not Jewish, and it could have been weird going to a Temple . . but I felt nothing but warmth and a general affection for and from all the kids and caregivers.
Sold.
I was sold on the first visit.

Completely enclosed space.
Rubber mats.
Giant sandbox (with aforementioned fancy sand) has many sand sieve and sand fussing tables.
What makes the sand fancy? There's no dust to the polished grains.
This is a great place. One of my favorite parks to take my toddler.

Playtables set up for kids to play all throughout the store.
A little corner gated off with a play kitchen and stuff also keeps the kinder penned in while you browse.
They had exactly what my husband wanted to buy - a wooden toolbox with wooden screws and hammer, etc.

But it's really all about the sandbox. I could leave my 16 month old son there for hours.
There's no bathroom here, and it's not entirely enclosed. But I like that there is a bigger kids swings and play set . . then there is the treehouse/sandbox area for the toddlers.
Parking is limited, in a cul-de-sac.
