Very cool place. I sampled a few of their brews which were very tasty. Nice environment and great music.
I ordered sesame ginger shrimp with rice. It was pretty tasty but the shrimp wasn't local. Local shrimp may be out of season or something--not sure. I was still sort of hungry afterwards, but my friend got their catch of the day and was absolutely stuffed. The drinks are pretty cheap and the service is very good. Might check it out again next time I'm in the area.
The owners were very friendly. Nice campground. If you aren't a deep sleeper stay away from the pool though because they run a leaf blower every morning that will wake you up.
I agree, these are probably the better bagels in the triangle. I'd eat bagels here any day over Bruegger's. I felt like I was in NYC when I walked in. The place is run by a bunch of Yankees and they were all shouting at each other which was kind of funny.
I got a toasted everything with cream cheese. The everything seasoning on the top was dead on. The bagel was a little bit chewy and had a breadey taste though. This was around 2 pm though so the bagels weren't really fresh anymore. I'm sure they'd be a little better in the morning, but still just not quite a NY bagel. This place has a lot of treats and sandwiches that you might not find anywhere else around here.
I might go back, but I read about a Jewish bakery up in North Raleigh that's supposed to be pretty good too.

I went through the drive-thru again, DAMN!, during the busy lunch hours. The bread was dried out! Ask for their freshest batch if you go here. They f'd up my order again too so have them read back the ingredients after you order. They have a serious disability with processing drive-thru orders. I guess that's my punishment of being too lazy or rushed to actually walk in.

Subway is subway. Just don't through the drive thru. They put pickles on my sub and I didn't ask for them.
Tasty donuts. Just make sure you get them in the morning because they are no good by noon. Their orange juice sucks and it's from concentrate. They give it to you in a bottle.
I had a huge tasty breakfast--too much to finish.

Greasy, expensive, un-authentic Mexican-American food. This place is anything but unique. The only thing authentic is the friendly waitstaff that will speak Spanish with you if so choose. If you want cheap and tasty Mexican food near campus, go to Cueva de Lobos down at the Avent Ferry Shopping Center (accessible by Wolfline and CAT bus, students), Chubby's tacos, OR if you have the money, Dos Taquitos.
Anyone who has ever been to Mexico knows that this place sucks. Plus, when I was up in Brooklyn I went to this incredible place called La Tortilleria Mexicana that would blow this place out of the water. They made their tortillas in house! Take that "the rodeo"!

Part of the reason I give it five stars is because El Rodeo sucks and it has 4 stars I just noticed. El Rodeo, along with many other Mexican places in NC, are greasy, expensive and disgusting. Cueva de Lobos, on the other hand, is sort of a toned down, much tastier version of what Americans believe is authentic Mexican food--don't get me wrong, I do love it, but it's definitely not 100% authentic.
We were promptly seated and got chips and salsa right when we sat down. Pretty good salsa. It wasn't the freshest but it did have chili powder in it which was tasty. I got a pint Dos Equis for $2.50 which ain't too bad. They have a great combo option at the bottom of one of the pages on the menu where you can get three food items for about $7.50. I got a burrito, quesadilla, and beans and rice (lost points for having mushy re-fried pinto beans).
The food took about 12 minutes or so and I have a sneaky suspicion that this is because they didn't just nuke the plate like at El Rodeo, i.e someone actually prepared it carefully and skillfully. The food wasn't overly greasy and it was very well presented, again, unlike El Rodeo. Nice plates too.
This place has great drink specials and many other specials that I'm definitely going to hit up--can't wait to hit up $2 tacos. Good music too: Postal Service, Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, etc. Even better is the fact that I can walk there and I won't ever have to set food that nasty sports bar Jax because I know a good place to drink exists just a few hundred feet away. Four stars for yummy-ness. Five stars on Yelp because El Rodeo doesn't deserve 4 stars. And if you're going for more authentic Mexican, check out Chubby's or Dos Tacquitos (if you can afford it). And if your ever in Brooklyn, go to La Tortilleria Mexicana--that is real Mexican, which is part of the reason I know this place is not 100% authentic. That place is very good though and I'm sure I'll be over there a lot this semester.

Like the sign says: "it's the bread..." This place is so much better than any franchise sub shop in Raleigh. I always get the turkey sub special. They toast the bread in the oven and let the provolone cheese melt on the bread some before they put your toppings on it. They also add some salt and pepper--something I normally don't ask for but like here.
It's not as fast as Subway or Jimmy John's, but it's totally worth the 5 minute wait. It's sort of a crappy location and it's always empty but that doesn't mean it sucks.
