East-West is a wonderful place for healing and Susan Priefert (in particular) is a tremendously talented masseuse.

In addition to being a terrific chiropractor who manages to effectively treat my various spine and back pain every time I see her, Barbara's vast skills also extend to giving me informed guidance on other random ailments in my life. She recently helped me get my bad breath under control after years of other failed treatments (did I just confess to thousands of people that I have bad breath?). Well, I don't any longer so there! Thanks Barbara!

Ton Kiang is one of our favorite special weekend brunch treats (especially for family birthday celebrations with the kids or when we have out of town visitors). It is an absolute Treyf-fest and we love it! Be sure to place your order for the walnut cookies while you're still eating the savories.

Another of my favorite places I only seem to get to when we have visiting guests. Be somewhat selective about which games you play because you can drop a lot of cash here before you know it!

This is a super fun thing for the kiddies. If you're in the neighborhood it is worth taking 15 minutes for a little play break here. Grab a cuppa coffee from the Starbucks first and sip while you stand around watching the kids try not to bump into each other. Crowded on weekends.

Okay, THIS is the best place to take visiting tourists for the weekend brunch experience they'll never forget. We love Yank Sing (and Ton Kiang out on Geary, too). Stuff yourself!

If you're in Japantown with the kids this is a good place to go just for the novelty of the sushi boat experience -- they'll love watching it all race by in front of them. The quality of the sushi is reasonable and the staff is friendly.

It's worth a special trip to Japantown just to go here. Give yourself plenty of time to stroll up and down every single aisle. Be sure to splurge and buy a couple of things because you'll regret it if you don't. You'll walk away with the most unique and memorable souvenirs ever. And cheap. Be sure to give the kids five bucks apiece and just let them buy whatever they want.

Another super fun place to take tourists. Be sure to ask the guy at the front desk to help you figure out how to decorate your photos!

This is a great central place to begin and end a Bay Area tourist day. Have breakfast at any one of the great little restaurants. Hop a ferry for a day trip and come back for lunch or dinner and just plain soaking up the atmosphere and special shops. Oh yeah, and gelato. Don't miss the gelato!
