I just found my new dentist in the Bay Area! I had my first appointment with Vista Dental Care and it was a great experience beginning with filling out my new patient forms on their website to leaving the office after my exam was done.

The staff was very polite and thorough with me. I have a very complex dental history and I was glad to know my dentist, Dr. Doukas, made an effort to understand it by asking me questions in order to know the issues and not rushing to conclusions. One thing I like very much was that they took pictures of my teeth and showed me potential issues. It made me feel my dentist was sincere and wanted me to truly understand her prognosis.

I only have a few notes. They warned me that the initial appointment would be 90 minutes long, so plan ahead for your first visit. They are a very contemporary and modern office and have their branding and marketing everywhere. For a dentist/medical office, they have the best website I've seen. Like I said in the beginning, I had to fill out my new patient forms online and if you're not a technically proficient person, you might find trouble with that but I'm sure you can also fill out the paperwork in-office. (However, you probably won't be reading this if you weren't a techno-savvy person.) I have Anthem Blue Cross PPO and this office was the best one that was recommended to me and closest to where I'm living.

Hands down, my favorite place to eat in SLC. Great vibe that reminds of San Francisco. Its very hip and the food is inexpensive. My favorite item to get there is the Michigan Hash and a Chai.

I had a great experience with Father & Son moving company. I was a bit skeptical hiring a moving company at first but after my first experience with them, I don't believe I'll be doing it any other way in the future. I was moving from a 1 bedroom apartment in West LA to a storage unit in Pomona and they were able to get it done in the minimum 4 hours with time to spare. They were quick, helpful, polite and easy. My movers Thomas and Juan were great and accomplished my move with no hiccups. Highly Recommend..

I had dinner here on a whim because I couldn't decide on where to go .  The food is tasty and the servers were very helpful and polite.  My only gripe is the cost and small servings.  They charge a hefty price (ranges from $3-7 depending on the meat) per one-skewer of meat which is actually half a skewer.  They're nice but the establishment is pretty stingy with the servings.  If they gave whole skewers, and slightly bigger servings, I'd give this place a 4.   But since they give half a skewer, I rate them half of 4.   And, since the competition on this block where this restaurant is located is so high, they need to step up their game.

Nowadays, its hard to find a place that understands that excellent service and random acts of kindness go a long way.  Especially, when it comes to auto-body and car repair shops.  Crown is one of those places.

I came into this shop to get an estimate on my car which had some bad scratches on the bumper.  I was promptly greeted and helped by Eyal, the shop's general manager.  He was very polite, knowledgeable, sincere, and honest, making my experience there very simple and enjoyable.  He gave me a very honest estimate and even had the scratches on my bumper polished and buffered (at NO charge) to see how serious they were.  Ultimately, they were barely noticeable after he had them buffed and polished and if I wanted to, I could have it painted but I was better off just saving my money.  I chose to save my money and if I decided to get it painted, I would absolutely go back to Crown Coachworks--hands down because of my positive experience there.  And, I would absolutely recommend this place to anybody who needed auto body or paint work.

I love the ramen here. They have a unique flavor to their noodles and you can get fried chicken in it. The food is relatively inexpensive and it tastes great. Definitely, worth the try and a great alternative to oruchan.

F*CK this place.  Do not go to this dental office.  First off, I spent almost an hour with an inexperienced dental assistant who couldn't get my x-rays correct.  They had to bring in a more 'experienced' person who basically was more rough, jamming the film into my mouth, making me gag.  And on top of that, the dentist who "examined" me is extremely rude and an A-hole.  His name is Arash Sabbagh-Fard, D.D.S.  So if you see this doctor's name in any dental office--LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. His chairside/bedside manner is absolutely horrible.  I basically came in their for a routine cleaning and check-up and all he did was look at my x-rays, and told me I needed all these procedures that was going to cost me $10,000 on top of what my insurance could cover.  He didn't even bother to do the cleaning I originally came for and him and his office manager (Ericka Peralta) were continuing to try and sell me on the "needed" operations, making me feel like an idiot for not doing it.  After I didn't agree to the procedure and wanted a second opinion, they charged me $46 and basically let me out.  In my experience in any dental office, the doctor typically examines and cleans my mouth before making any diagnosis.  Arash simply looked at the X-Rays and jumped to quick conclusions which basically caused me to question his diagnosis because he didn't even examine my teeth or ask me any questions.

In our days of salons, cosmetologists and stylists, its hard to find a good-old barber shop a guy can go to get a haircut.  The guys at Southwood Barber Shop will cut your hair very well and when you walk into the place you are greeted with a warm welcome.  My barber, Jack, takes the time to really cut my hair, making sure everything is nice and clean and doesn't rush the job.

This barbershop has the look and feel of a traditional barber shop, complete with a vintage barber pole and cash register.  Prices are reasonable, costing $15 a haircut with discounted rates for seniors.

I'm no expert on cars and the maintenance of them but I do know enough to know when a mechanic is just trying to edge another sale out of me.  If you're looking for a good, honest, helpful, and independent auto mechanic, Perucho Auto Repair is what you need.  I recommend this place because the man who runs the place, Gilbert, gives you a genuine diagnostic and recommendations for your car as oppose to more "big-name" corporate alternatives (i.e. dealerships, jiffy-lubes, and sears) who try to manipulate you into giving them more money.  Gilbert did diagnostics on my car right in front of me, showing me things that were needed and not needed to be done.  There were some occasions where he recommended that I not need service and I didn't feel too bad or unsure about it.  I just know he was being honest with me and was out for me and my car's best interests.  Unlike places where I've gone like Sears or the Honda Dealerships, where they make me feel like I'm an idiot or force me to do certain repairs and are only out for their best interests as oppose to their customers.  The quality of work Perucho Auto Repair is great and he walks you through what he did when you pick up the car.  Oh yeah, the prices are reasonable and significantly less than more corporate alternatives.

Only drawback to this place is that, there's only one or two mechanics so it may take up to a day to finish your car.  So you'll need to bring someone with you when you drop off and pick up your car.  However, I'd trade long great quality personal service over impersonal over-priced quick service any day.
