The food here was really great -- I've walked by this place many times and never stopped in, but I'm glad I did. I had the tinga, and it was really flavorful. My boyfriend had the poblano, and I'll be getting that next time!

The only downside was that I booked a reservation for 9pm, and we weren't seated on time. It was a busy night, but the only option was to wait outside (since the place is so tiny) and it was pretty cold out! That part wasn't their fault, but it didn't help ;)

While I understand that the owner of Visit Thai is a co-owner of this new bistro, I'm very excited about the change! We went on the first official opening day, and we were blown away by the quality of the food (and the very reasonable prices!).

For our meal, we started with the beet salad (goat cheese instead of feta made it even better), the asparagus side, the sweet potato (I think... could have been a different kind, this wasn't my main course) ravioli and the beef bourguignon. All were excellent.

To top it all off, we had the profiteroles for dessert, which were the perfect ending to the meal.

The only thing they need to do now is add brunch to their menu, and I'll be there every weekend.

UPDATE: They had brunch for a couple of weekends, but I didn't notice them open recently. Hopefully they'll bring it back!

They make a great cup of coffee/espresso/whatever, that's for sure. Nice and roomy, although they could do with more seating (I think they're opening up the back area? Or is that just for the roaster?)

The donuts are to die for (try the maple bacon!) and my only complaint are the mopeds parked outside that stink up the joint. God I hate those things.

Anyhow, a great spot if you need a change from Blue Bottle or RitRo.

Service and food were good. The squash soup was very tasty, but my ravioli were a little cold.

Nice seasonal fare... we had the appetizer stimulus menu, but it seemed that there was a lot of good stuff to try on the regular menu.

Overall, probably not memorable enough to warrant a second trip, but if you need dinner in Union Square this place is worth a try!

I've probably walked by this place a million times, and never noticed it! Great food (especially if you're looking for a  comforting meal) and the service was excellent. We brought 6 ladies for a birthday dinner, and they were very accommodating (and added candles to our delicious dessert sampler!).

I will definitely come back here again sometime!

Plus... meatloaf wrapped in bacon? Hellooo! :P

I don't know why it took me so long to go to this place, but I'm glad I finally did. We had reservations (which I highly recommend, even though it was only a Monday night) and the place was pretty packed! But the waitstaff was very attentive, and the food started coming out minutes after we ordered (which is definitely a benefit of small plates!).

We had the fondue (great, but could have used more dipper things), the ahi tacos (tasty), the mac and cheese (um, YUM) the sliders (good), the swordfish (I didn't try it, but I heard it was great) and the spare ribs (finger-licking good). I'll be back for the food and the strong cocktails!

I missed this rooftop bar that everyone seems to be raving about (but cut me some slack, it was 38 degrees outside!), but otherwise this seems like a really chill place to hang out! There's plenty of room to mingle and sit, and the drinks were priced nicely as well.

My only complaint is that the music they were playing was a little cheesy. Otherwise, I'd definitely come back!

This place is amazing. Not only is the coffee and tea selection amazing, the decor is very serene and comfortable.

And I'm a proud member of the Kopi Luwak club too! Got my free mug and everything. If you've got $65 to spare, definitely give it a shot!!

I was a little nervous to go in here (I could never tell what was behind the chain mail curtain!) but I was pleasantly surprised. Robert was very nice, and the special that night (the fried chicken) was AMAZING. Best fried chicken I've ever had.

Everything I've had there, I've enjoyed. The menu might be a little too fancy for my simple tastes, but I felt like I was at least trying new things.

I do suggest getting a reservation - I was able to get in this weekend (even though there appeared to be empty seats) but I'll try again.
