Current CrushMy husband Hsien and our beautiful miracle!
So last Sunday, my husband and I decided to go here which is our usual Go-To place. We had a mishap the weekend before when the waitress forgot our 3-year old nieces Grilled Cheese sandwich. By the time the sandwich arrived, all of the adults were done with their lunch. Annoying yes but we overlooked it and figured it was a one time event. My husband and I arrived and were quickly seated. I noticed that my menu was slightly smudged in the area where the particular item I wanted was. When we were ordering, I asked the waitress what the rest of the food description was. Her reply was "I don't know". She didn't make any immediate effort to find out until I asked her if I could have another menu to find out. So I ordered my meal and my husband ordered as well asking for a side order of toast and butter. The waitress said "Okay". Don't get me wrong...she is a very polite and courteous young lady but it is apparent after this incident that she lacks communication understanding and that English is not her first language. So out comes our meals. My husband's toast did not come so he asked the waitress again if he could please order toast and butter (he wanted to dip his egg in it). So he waited and waited...finally after 10 minutes he asked the same waitress where his toast and butter were and she looked at him confused and asked "Oh you still wanted that?" Uhhhh yeah. So a few minutes pass as she is rushing around table to table and then she takes a moment to look confused, consult the gentleman working that day who comes over and asks if he can help with anything. My husband said that he had ordered toast and butter several times and that he just wanted a sourdough piece of bread and some butter...that was it! He was getting a bit frustrated. The gentleman says "Sure no problem". A few minutes later my husband is served by the waitress a HUGE PLATE OF FRENCH TOAST!!! My husband gave up and just looked at it without correcting her and tossed his egg into the French toast and surrendered. We gave up...this waitress was not getting it and it seemed to be an easy and reasonable request.
So upon paying up at the register, we were charged for that order of French toast which my husband explained to the cashier and they removed the charge. I am not sure if he got an apology but he was told that the waitress was new. Okay I get that she is new but as a person who has never waitressed in my life, I could get a customer a piece of toast and butter...no problem. The problem is not that she is new, it's that she just does not understand.
I REALLY want this place to thrive and I really want this place to do well because the food is excellent and the people are nice! I miss the older woman who waitressed there...she was amazing! Sadly she retired. There is another nice young woman that waitresses there with no problem....but this new gal. I feel sorry for her...she is so sweet but she obviously does not get it and I hope it's not hurting their business.
I don't think I will be coming back for a while or recommending this place until the kinks are worked out with the new waitress. I'm sad because I really love this place! I have also written a letter to the manager in hopes that the issue can be resolved and they can continue to be a great place because I believe in them!
