One of my favorite restaurants in SF.  We had a wedding brunch here and it was fantastic.  We keep coming back and it's always such a great experience.  They recently added a new fried chicken dish to menu which is hands-down best yet, house-made chicken gravy, breast and thigh, boned, tastes like made with buttermilk.

Went there yesterday and they have a further revamp for the New Year with four fresh fish dishes, assorted sides you can select, steamed or roasted Dungeness crab, and something like eight new desserts!

Friendly staff, owner and chef, we love it, try it!

Awesome tasty Chestnut St. Mexican. Don't miss it. Try the crispy tacos or the pipian mole chicken burrito.

Great ambiance, friendly staff, and even got a chance to meet and speak with the owner!

We ordered over 50% of the appetizers: tomato soup, quail, smokey chicken liver mousse, and bbq shrimp.  Shrimp were reportedly as fresh as possible, less than 14 hours out of the water.  Quail was reminiscent of ultra tasty delicate crispy duck, but less gamey than duck can be.  Chicken liver was a table-wide hit.

On entrees, I love pork belly and theirs was excellent, as was the sweet potato main course (cooked three ways), and the short ribs (sans bone, sliced like chunks of brisket), and the skate (stuffed with pork).

I also really liked their focus on American alcoholic drinks esp. whisky, they have some great stuff in the bar.

An exciting new find and I'd heartily recommend it.  It is a small space, maybe 11 or so tables and a mid size bar, so it can fill up fast and it feels nicely intimate.

I totally love this place but I've tried to go with my girlfriend three separate times now, both early, mid-eve, and late, and it has always been completely packed, so much so that we couldn't even stand inside to wait, or wait at the bar, or way in the back, much less get a table.

The pack-age is really a problem.  It's totally packed.

In case I didn't make it clear, this place is so packed you basically shouldn't expect to be able to get in.

It is cool and has great food and an incredible beer selection.  If you can get in you will like it.

Good luck getting in.

Bill's Place is a historical landmark in San Francisco.  I've been eating here since the 1970s.  I hadn't been in about 20 years since moving away from the outer Richmond area, but after returning today I am hoping to go back tomorrow, and the next day, and the next.

Burger was large, satisfying, and juicy.  Milkshake was hearty.  French fries square, thick and crispy, right out of the fryer, just as the friendly staff reported on delivery.

They grind their own meat for the burgers, and it shows.  They still have the back patio with koi pond from my childhood memories.

And the price is reasonable, eating with a friend we ended up spending about $25 each with tax, tip, and enough food we could barely finish it all.

This place is bomb-ass and anyone who thinks otherwise is on crack.  I used to come here in fifth grade when it was Yoshida-Ya and liked it so much then it was my designated birthday dinner destination.  Now it is even better.

Specialty drinks are the shiznit.

Women should really arrive wearing Lululemon yoga pants with a Patagonia fleece.  Men should wear a baseball cap or a sports blazer and Rainbow sandals.

Female mating call: "Eeeeee!"

Male mating call: "Hey dude, what's up."

This used to be the best BBQ in the entire Seattle area.  However the last few times I went it was only mediocre.  Meat seemed not the same quality, portions didn't look fully cooked.

And the lady at the cash register was so absolutely unbelievably rude to me that I swore it was the end of my visitation.

Now, realize, I've lived in Seattle off and on for about eight years and I've probably eaten there tens if not over a hundred times.  I used to love this place and took everyone, family, friends, etc. here whenever I was in the area.

I know what the attitude of the lady at the register is like, and I know she's always been bristly.  But the last three trips were above and beyond acceptable into literal verbal abuse.

No one deserves to be spoken to that way, and I won't go back.

We tried to go to Liverpool Lil's at 11:30pm last night but the kitchen was closed so they sent us over here, their sister restaurant.

Gumbo starter was fabulous, served with garlic bread.  Petite filet for girlfriend, perfectly cooked and just the right size.  Veal piccata, perfect.

Ambiance is so fun.  I felt like we were having a secret conversation to which no one was privy but ourselves.

Going back here as often as possible.

Super tasty hamburger, one of my favorites in the city.  Plus they serve dinner late, we couldn't think of where to go at 10pm but Liverpool Lil's was happy to help.  The french onion soup (made with veal stock!) was excellent.  Thumbs-up.  Lots of other tasty looking items on the menu.
