I really enjoyed my experience here. I was looking for a place that would take their time and give me a really quality polish experience. This fulfilled that 100%!

The service was amazing and a week later, my nails are still in great shape! Probably one of the best Mani/Pedis I've gotten.

Here are a few tips/details:
- Go on an off day. They do mani/pedis on tues & weds for just $30!!
- The woman who did my pedicure was so thorough and took her time. I was getting my back massaged (read: beaten up in the best possible way) in the chair and she took her time and cleaned up my toes so nicely!
- The woman who did my fingers was a little slower but still as thoughtful. She perfectly shaped and polished my nails.
- Amazing back massage after the polish.
- They checked in on me to see if my nails were dry and didn't just forget about me after they got their tips.
- It was a pretty cold and wet day so I was wearing boots. They wouldn't let me touch a THING! They put my socks and shoes on for me. Wrapped my toes with saran wrap to make sure they stayed lovely.

I was very impressed by my experience. I will be back... every time I am in NYC!

I really wanted to like this place. The menu looked amazing. Met a good size group for brunch. Everything was pretty good... until I found several hairs in my omelet. Oh boy. It ruined the meal. I didn't want to order anything else and I am looking at 4 other omelets on the table just wondering.

The service is slow and unreliable and the restroom is just a one person affair... which leads to lines.

Work on some hygiene, employ some customer focused staff and this could be a great location.

Qi Downtown

I really like Qi and I especially like that they offer beginning adult gymnastics.

The class is fun and hard as hell! I really enjoy James' technique and kindness. He really works with you to make sure that you get the positions correctly and safely.

The class is hard... so hard and so invigorating and really tones your body.

My only complaint with Qi Downtown is the facility. Especially in the snow and cold with rock salt in our shoes, walking through the gym or running on the treadmill with those shoes... it's the same floor where I was laying or doing pushups or stretching. It felt kinda dirty and inhibited me a bit as I didn't want to stick my hand in melted snow (or potentially sweat) and rock salt. I wish there was a dedicated no-shoes space for the gymnastics class. Also, the female locker room is a VERY tight fit and not very comfortable. The door doesn't shut well and it opens directly into the changing area. I am a big Core Power fan and beyond the workout there, they give me a clean and spacious place to change and shower. Maybe I'm spoiled but I really appreciate that.

Additionally, I signed up blind for the class. I emailed the gym asking what to wear, what was the exact location, and some other details. I didn't get a response. Then I got a response after the class asking me if I enjoyed my free week... which I didn't get, I paid for the class I took. It took a bit of time to get a response but they offered the free week to me.

Other than these facility issues, I really enjoyed my experience there and frankly, they give workouts that no one else does. I love that. I would recommend more details on the classes on their website, especially for the unique workouts... I wasn't sure if I needed sneakers or what for the class.

I think Qi has enormous potential and is a great general gym with innovative classes... now we just have to make the workout environment a bit more enjoyable!

Went to the Matchbox last night for the first time. Fun little dive. GREAT art! Didn't drink anything fancy but enjoyed my beer and the very friendly and nice bartenders. Tended to get full with not a ton of chairs or tables and it was a Wednesday night. (Did I mention it was small?)

The only downside is the neighborhood... my friend got mugged at knife point a few months ago down the street... point is: go, enjoy, don't hang out drunk outside alone. :)

I am pretty sure no one else has mentioned this for the Cheeky Monk but the beer selection? Incredible. I love the personalized glasses for each beer. The servers are very knowledgeable and the experience, enjoyable.

For sure a place you should try before dying or moving.

Why no 5 stars? Well, the food is eh. Average at best. I don't go here for the food. I come for the beer.

Pure Barre

I am so bummed to write this review. I thought Pure Barre was going to be amazing. I am a former dancer and barre was my favorite part of class. Incredible strengthening. Some girlfriends and I bought the Groupon and went to try it on our lunch break. Now, it could have been because it was noon on a weekday but the class was full of ladies... well let's say I felt out of place being there on my lunch break from work. One thing I love about Yoga is the lack of judging. I feel like those yoga classes are so hard and so focused on the internal that I can't even see the people around me much less worry about their practice. At Pure Barre I felt super judged. Did I have the right brand of clothing? Etc. Anyway, after a VERY SLOW check in process that let me feeling breathless and late for the class I got changed and onto the carpet.

Yes, I also feel carpet is weird. Every dance class, every yoga class, everything has been on marley or hardwood, etc. I felt kinda grossed out about the carpet. So we get going into the pure barreness.

There was virtually NO instruction! "Okay ladies, wrap that strap around the barre, one leg up and tuck and tuck and tuck..." Uh... tuck what? Do where? I am a fast picker upper... and this instructor didn't slow down for a second. Yes, keep heart rate up... but I have NO idea how! Perhaps there needs to be a designated beginner class like many yoga studios have... like a PB 1. Intro class? Come on, I need directions. I am a former dancer, tell me what muscles to tuck where and I can do it. But even I was confused, not to mention my co-worker who had no idea.

The burn is hot and I like work that pushes muscles to failure but I just felt like a failure in this class. The teach was a doll and she worked with us after class but our lunch hour was up and we had to run back to work.

I think this workout has such potential, it just needs some structure. Warn beginners that they might want to take the weekly intro class to learn what muscles to work into. Overall, this would have sent me running if I didn't have a groupon.

Sumeshe Maids and Concierges

My brother's apartment was in DESPERATE need of a clean. I was going to be staying there over Thanksgiving and I really needed him to get his bathroom cleaned.

I checked out a few places from Yelp but they were hard to get in touch with and hard to schedule. Finally I found Sumeshe.

They responded so fast, it was awesome! Not only did she respond fast but she was also will to book for the next day during a holiday weekend and give me a first time discount. WOW!! For less than $100 a guy came and cleaned my brother's apartment for FIVE HOURS and brought his own supplies. He scrubbed the bathroom, made his bed, did the dishes, and put away his laundry. Very impressive.

Not only did they do a great job cleaning, but Latasha made it super easy for me to do it from Colorado. We talked, set up a time that worked for my brother, and I paid via Pay Pal! I was very happy with the whole experience.

The apartment looks great and the work was well done. I definitely recommend Sumeshe to anyone in NYC looking for maid service! And the next time my brother's place needs a pick-me-up, I know who I am calling!

MAD Greens

Hands down, best salad in Denver. This place is amazing and my go to stop for fresh food after a long (and nutritionally poor) work week. I have been so often, that I know what I like and order it every time...

Regular with romaine, with beets, cucumbers, and tuna. Topped with feta and Sherry Molasses vinaigrette. Start with the light pour and keep adding.

That's a good note... everyone pours differently so start light and then have them add as needed.

But your first time, if you are like me, you should pick off the board. I always add all the things I love and it tastes AWFUL! Like mango and tuna and cucumbers and beans and  and  and... yeah, if you suck at that, like me, taste the board then make your own.

I love that they have beets. Beets are my favorite on a salad. The food is always fresh and delicious.

I highly recommend MAD greens to locals and visitors alike. I love the fact that I live down the street and can grab a Mad Greens salad and a Jamba Juice smoothy after work.

One downside... I do think some of the portions are a bit weeny and the price is a little high. My salad, as described above, usually comes to $7ish. It's a quarter cup of beets and I would love more and more cucumbers... less lettuce would be fine with me.

Still the best lunch or dinner ever...

Packed. Always. If you have time, go to one of the other Starbucks in the area. Otherwise, the line moves both to order and to get the beverage but you will stand in line. Give yourself extra time if you need this brand of caffeine fix.

Very comfortable. Beds are great and 'squishy.' Cute rooms, vintage feel in the whole hotel.

Service is good and pretty efficient. The in house entertainment was fun and the bar was great.

Two notes, the in house Starbucks is constantly packed. There are three in a few blocks radius.
Also, the rooms are very cold for conferences even in the middle of summer when it hits a whooping 60 degree high... Bring jackets!
