There are two things that make me have a good clubbing experience, Uptempo Music and a good Dj.
This club had neither!
I will say that everyone working at the club was awesome.  The door people, the ones taking the money, pretty much everyone that helps with basic standards and practices.
However,  a nice, hard working staff should be the least of your worries.
The main attraction of a club is the Dj.
While I don't mind the lack of beat matching, or the weak selection of music, I must complain about the repetition of songs.  I was at this club last night for one hour and heard two songs repeat.  While I understand the changing of Dj's, this just shows the lack of communication between the last act and the first act.
I can go more in detail about the Dj's but it could just be that the dope dj's are there Saturday nights and not Friday nights.

I always stop by here when I'm off to visit my friend.
I gotta say that ever since the first time I've come in here I've loved it.
The clerks are awesome and are always willing to share a minute or two with you.
Sometimes it's that friendly-ness that makes you come back for more!!

I came here for Dim Mak Tuesdays!!

I must say that the Venue is something pretty darn cool.  The Venue was looking kinda shitty outside but man is it a amazing place one inside.
Free Vodka Bar for the first hour on tuesdays, great music, different stages and of course the smoking patio in a pretty chill spot.

I also noticed that a lot of Dj's that I've paid money to see are just hanging out with the crowd.  How often does that happen.  I had a pretty cool conversation with Them Jeans and Eli Smith in one night, trust me it wasn't too smothering.

I gotta say that, I had a good time that night.  I strongly suggest going here for you Tuesday nights than anywhere else in the Hollywood area.  There really doesn't need to be a headlining act for a good time at Dim Mak Tuesdays.
If there is someone you wanna see performing on a Tuesday at Dim Mak, well that's just the icing on the cake!!
Thanks For The Good Time Cinespace & Dim Mak!

Let me first start that this was my first time going to Coco's!
I've never been here and I thought that the food would be good!
The food was pretty good! I can't complain about the Food! I ordered my food and it took the usual time to get ready.  It tasted great. The meats were cooked just the way i like them.  The food was great!!
The problem with this coco's is the service!
I didn't mind waiting in line for 5 minutes! It was early but waiting for a table isn't the worst thing in the world!
I then was given two breakfast menu's.  My co-worker asked for a Lunch menu, but instead was given a breakfast menu.  He then asked the waiter for a lunch menu.  My co-worker got a lunch menu but the waiter had an attitude about giving him a lunch menu.  People eat lunch at 11:30am, I don't know what the big deal was.
I noticed that this waiter was having a bad day or something was up, this older couple asked for something and the waiter was forced to take the food back and recook it.
The waiter then in spanish was talking trash about the couple as he passed us up.
The waiter also kinda gave us shit for asking if Orange Juice has free refills.
Once the food came, (20 minutes later) the waiter kinda just threw it down on our table and said enjoy.  Didn't say a word other than "enjoy"
I can understand if you having a bad day and all but man this was the worst service I've had.
This waiter was such an asshole that I don't think I wanna visit any other Coco's ever again.
I remember his name tag too.  The waiter was an older gentlemen by the name of Raul.
So if you go in here and get a waiter called Raul. Don't expect the best of service.

This is a Tuesday night review!

I hear that Le Castle Vania is going to be at Dance Tuesdays at the Arena. Such a last minute thing, never less I decided to go.
As soon as I get there, I notice that this place was FULL of under age kids.  I'm talking about 16 year olds maybe even  younger. I also see a lot of parents dropping off their kids.  I felt that yesterday was a high school dance! I can now see why it's called Dance.
I didn't wait a minute in line as I seemed to be one of the few 21 and over people that came out!  Once inside, MAN is it HOT!!!!  There also seems to be only one bar.  Every time I felt the bar I had to get padded down, just to go back to the main floor!
So, let's talk music. The Dj's which consist of  Paparazzi, Bip Jeffington, and Joaquin, have to either be one of two Dj's, They must know someone or are rich kids that run Arena on Tuesdays.  These Dj's seem to mess up every song possible as once a song is mix in within 30 seconds it's being mixed out.  Plus you'll know exactly when a song is being mix as it's either off beat or it's not even beat matched at all.  I've never heard so many songs being butchered in a night until last night.  I have to say that the most important part of a club is the music, BOY!! Did those 3 seem to mess it up!  The music was so bad that It was hurting my ears.  I like electro and all but man was it a custerf*ck of music.  Most of the songs being played sounded like something that some guy in his bedroom created and gave out for free.  You got crappy electro done by bedroom producers, and these songs are being mixed by a crappy Dj. This equals a bad night of music!!
Le Castle Vania was cool, he wasn't that bad but it seemed like he was playing for the 16 year olds in attendance instead of the fans of his music.
I can honestly say that I will NEVER go back to this place. I'd rather watch paint dry than experience another night like last night.
Don't go unless it's a must.
Stick to The Vanguard and Avalon as both of them look ten times better after being to The Arena!

I've never had a problem with Groovetickets until recently!
They always seem to have everything under control and seem to do a good jog.
I bought tickets in advance for an event, I bought these tickets way back in May for an event in July.  Once the event announced the location, I bought my tickets and waited for a July event.
Two weeks before the event the promoter changes the venue and I can no longer attend.  I tried for two weeks to get my money back but it was a failed attempt. Neither Groovetickers or the promoter gave me the time of day.
There went 100 dollars down the drain.  I will no longer use there service and I will no longer attend the promoters events ever! ! All I can say is beware!! No refund policy is lame.  Stupid binding contract,  I almost wish I could sue.
I'm not really upset but more disappointed. They have lost a customer for life!

I thought this was the best mexican food but it's a nice second!
What makes this place great is the fact that it's so cheap! The food tastes great! I love this food! Words can not describe how awesome this food is!
As great as the food is there this ice cream and drinks shop right in front of the truck that has some amazing ice cream and drinks! I love the drinks more than the food. But at times i love the food more than the drinks!
It's one the places you have to try!!

This place is great, but sadly has it's flaws.
I will say that this is the place to go to when you miss an issue.  They always seem to have the back issue your looking for.  They also have this amazing section of 1 dollar books! Nothing like getting a good read for only a dollar.
The problem with this store is of course that it has more of a swap meet feel.  Which isn't wrong but it also seems kinda ehhh.  The owners and employee's never seem to want to talk to you and they also seem like they are watching your every move. I can understand it but this place just doesn't seem to have a friendly environment.
I still like this place and will continue to go. I just thought I'd give my honest opinion!

What can i say about the Comic Cult!!!
I've been shopping here for years and i can't get enough.  There is nothing too special about this place, get your comics, rent a movie or just hang out.  I'm not into them table games but man does it attract a few people.
The employee's rule!! Bob is an awesome guy to talk to as well as the other older gentlemen that works there.  They both seem to know there comics and it's very cool.  I sometimes end up staying a good 30 minutes just talking to the clerks!
I love this place.  Like i said nothing special, just a great place to talk to people that know comics and a great place to get your comics.

AMC Rolling Hills 20

AMC Rolling Hills has been a local theater for years!
I've been going to this location lately due to the fact that it's a lot less crowded and not that many teens goes here any more! Which is one of the main reasons why I hate AMC Del Amo.  But after two experiences I think I might need a change.
First off. I went to watch a movie this past April, It was kinda cold night so i dressed up in a hooded jacket and i wore a ball cap.  After I paid for my ticket and walked into to watch my showing. I was greeted by two larger black males that asked me "What are you doing?" To which i replied "Going to watch a movie." I showed them my ticket and then was told that if i wanted to see this movie i had to remove my hoodie and my ball cap.  I all of a sudden felt like i was at a hip-hop club.  Since when does a movie theater have a dress code?!? So I did what the gentlemen asked me to do as I found my seat. Then I got up to get some popcorn. I noticed those two guys were outside of the entrance hassling more people.  Ball caps and Hoodies.  As I walk back to my seat, I saw those same guys slapping hands and laughing with another customer with a ball cap, hoodie, and pants to the ground, and was let into the same movie i was watching with out being hassled.  I don't want to assume it was a race thing but I kinda felt it was.
My next complaint isn't really there fault but it's just something I wanted to address.
I went to see the new Transformers movie here on opening day.  I caught a 11pm showing and I was enjoying the movie.  All of a sudden while watching the movie i noticed that the film strip burned up.  After the lights went on, I kinda sat there and waited.  The working manager that night (awesome person btw) told us that it was out of there hands what had happened and gave us a coupon and told us sorry and to come back another time on them.  It sucked big time but it wasn't there fault.  They handled the matter real professional unlike the other story i shared.
I'll still come back to this theater. but i never expect too much from this place.
