The residents who live a few miles from the park and preserve are lucky. Picnic areas and easy hiking trails are a good combination for on-the-fly, last minute recreation. The hiking trails are easy, and most trails are jogging friendly. Fantastic views include the San Mateo Peninsula, Interstate 280, and residential homes.
Parking is small. We were lucky to find a spot during peak hours.

Shiok is the first Singapore restaurant I ate. We ordered the garlic noodles and a chicken dish. The noodles had too much garlic and a little on the salty side. The chicken dish was good, tasty, and moist. The portions were a little skimpy for the prices on the higher side.
The interiors were clean and modern. The seating was comfortable whether the customer sat on the chair or cushion sofa. Service was standard. We got our waters filled regularly. Waiting for a seat was short. The small restaurant was busy on a weekday.
I plan to come back and hopefully give Shiok a higher rating.

I can see this place get busy for Downtown San Jose activities and San Jose State students coming here for lunch. The burritos are big for the price. The taste was not too bad. You can modify your burrito from the menu. I did by double rice and no beans. You see them prepare your burrito in front of you.
The tables fill up fast during peak hours. Sodas are self serve and, I believe, unlimited refills.
