The wine selection seemed decent. However, I was not as impressed as I am when I go to New Pioneer Co-op in Iowa City, as there didn't seem much of an effort either by staff or by way of signs to help one make a decent wine selection.
The cafe side of things was decent too, though the service was mediocre at best. For $8 bucks a piece we got an entree and 2 sides. The food was very flavorful, though I'm sure nothing about what I had was low fat (that's not a big issue for me, but what I am saying is lots of cream and butter here for sure...)
All around a pretty good, but not exceptional, experience.
I went for lunch and ordered the regular burrito with steak. It was big and, not only that, quite flavorful! I was surprised to find that tortilla chips also came with the burrito...making the price seem quite reasonable.
The chips also provided me with the opportunity to try a number of their salsas. I stuck mostly with the mild and medium flavors. I probably should have tried a few of the hotter salsas, as I did find the mild and medium ones just a little too sweet for my liking.
The service could have been a little more friendly, but overall I had a decent experience. I won't drive all the way across town for it, but if I'm in the area and needing lunch, I'm sure I'll be back.

We began our tour by eating at the Trustee's restaurant. An earlier reviewer noted that the "food was overpriced." That may be if you are expecting a quick bite to eat, but if you go knowing you are in store for a great dining experience, I'm sure you will not be disappointed by either the price or the quality of the food. Our lunch was simply phenomenal and the best dining experience of our vacation in KY!
The village itself is a restored "Shaker" community. Being a Presbyterian minister, I very much enjoyed learning about the faith and beliefs of this particular uniquely American religious community and how those beliefs informed their life together. Each portion of our tour was informative and well done.

There was a strange service snafu when it became clear that two waitresses were fighting to serve our table, each one insisting that they were our waitress. After we got that straightened out the rest of our dining experience was fine.
If I lived in L'ville I'd probably want to try this place a few more times before I rated it, 1st to get a better sample of its expansive menu (I wondered can they do everything well?) and 2nd to see if our strange service experience was normal or not.
Our dining selections were fine. While my order of Chicken Masala seemed to lack a certain punch, my wife's selection of grilled trout was excellent.
Out of the three places we ate during our stay in Bardstown - though none were exceptional - I think this one was probably the best.
The Memphis style ribs with the house's BBQ sauce were fantastic. Complimenting corn bread and cole slaw were great too.
There were so many things on the menu that sounded worth trying that my only regret is that I live in Cedar Rapids and probably won't make it back for a while.
The only reason I'm not giving this place a five is that our waiter didn't re-fill our beverages until the meal was over.

We got there just before the dinner rush on a Friday evening, and after our arrival the place really picked up! Despite the busyness the service was wonderful. Helpful but not too chatty and intrusive.
The food was wonderful too. I tried a special of the day which was flank steak, scallops, brussel sprouts, fingerling potatoes, etc. all in a red wine demi glace. Very good! The vegetables especially were perfectly cooked. Coffee and dessert were fabulous as well.
The wine selection was fun, with the option of a number of different "flights," "tiers," and order "sizes" you can have as much or as little wine as you want priced in various ranges. A very interesting and innovative concept.
All in all this was a great experience! My wife and I came out happy campers, so thank you yelp.
We always get a detroit style, alternating between mushrooms/sausage,
and canadian bacon/pineapple. The detroit style is a pan style pizza without a crust on the edge, instead the cheese makes for a very nice carmelized edge to the pizza.
Be forewarned that you will be asked "Is it okay if we don't slice it for you?" if you say no you will be given a lecture about how it is a better pizza experience if they don't slice it for you.
This is a definite favorite for us.
My wife and I often split one of the dinner platters so that we can both have some chicken and some ribs, both are top notch; portion size is just right for the both of us...you won't go hungry.
There are number of excellent sauces to chose from to compliment your meat (we like the mustard bbq sauce.) The corn bread soaked in honey is to die for too.
I'm sure there is better bbq to be found outside Iowa, but for what's available around here, this is about the best.
Date
It's not a huge nor incredibly fancy restaurant; it is quite simple and as another review indicated 'nicely appointed.' The service staff was very friendly, helpful, and efficient.
Both of our entrees along with the appetizer we ordered were very flavorful and were among some of the best food we have had during our dining experiences in Iowa.
