NextSpace Coworking

I love NextSpace! It has a professional flair that is missing from many South Bay coworking spaces.

I am happy to say I was the first member of this NextSpace and has allowed us the flexibility to grow.  It's also nice to not sit piled into a "startup garage" and have real space.

The energy, startup collaboration, and working environment are great for any freelancer or burgeoning startup.  There are offices, desks, and community spaces all in one.

The conference room is great for private meetings.

The kitchen has a fridge, counter space, and is vibrantly communal.

Plus, if you work late, $1 tacos right outside (we share a wall with San Jose Bar and Grill- but sans the noise. :))

And Gretchen is awesome, of course.  She's the community curator there and organizes great events for members and outsiders to come explore the space.

You'll love it!  Visit the http://Dishcrawl.com team and come cowork with us at NextSpace!

Enoteca La Storia

I looooooove Enoteca! It's sexy, modern, and such a great little community spot hidden in Downtown Los Gatos. You have to be in the know to know that this is one of the best wine bars down there.

Their menu is wonderful and appeals to foodie palates- with many tapas style dishes.  I adore their crostinis (many to choose from), fromage, and charcuterie.  Simple, elegant and delicious to complement the delightful wines.

The wine list caters to even the most discerning wine connoisseur (I won't pretend to be one), but YUM. Elegance would be the best way to describe it.

There are also beautiful flights you can experience- I love the zin flight I just had there.  Oh, and there are some great wine events you can experience too!

Yum yum yum. I highly recommend.

Mezcal

I adore Mezcal!  It is one of the places I frequent often in downtown San Jose.  I love eating the crispy chips and sampling the moles they bring out at the beginning- the depth and contrast between the different moles is awesome!

Also, I loooove the taquitos.  Probably one of the best things on the menu.  The grasshoppers are fun too!  Roasted flavoured.  It's best to eat them littered onto a chip with guacamole... to top!

I've also had the tamale there, which is wrapped in banana leaf.  Nice and tender and full of flavor.

Actually, I'll say I love all their appetizers!  They are so awesome and unique, and if anything tickles my fancy, it's intriguing chef creations. :)

Totally Dishcrawl approved!

Coffee is awesome, staff is awesome.

What you'll find is a haven to sit and work at till 11pm every single day.  And the wifis.  There is plenty of space, and plenty of plugs.  It's not the cleanest/sexiest, it's kind of like a little hole to hide out in and work on the computer.

I love the porch, lounging outside.  And theres plugs. Everywhere, including outside. :)

They make an awfully good iced latte and cappuccino and their bagels with cream cheese tend to tide me over well.

Iced teas are awesome too.  Made to order. Chamomile Citrus, Mint, Ginger Peach, etc.

If you're looking for delicious pastries and gourmet noms and plush seats, look elsewhere.

I had the wonderful opportunity of eating at Another Monkey on a Mission Dishcrawl!  The ambience and friendly customer service allowed us to enjoy the food in a comfortable, hip setting.

Tom yum nachos.  Intriguing, and nothing like it until you've tried them at Another Monkey!  Large crispy tortillas the size of your palm topped with shrimp and salty tom yum sauce.

My other favorite was the fried pumpkin.  Delicious pieces of soft pumpkin encased in a light batter.  De-lish!

Happy hour here is impossibly inexpensive.  Draft beers at $2.50.

Sooooo good.  Genius pulled pork butt tacos and bleu cheesesteak.  The fries are wonderfully unique as well.  Thin slices of potato and nothing like I would have expected.

Wonderfully light coleslaw with elegant slices of fennel, cabbage, onion, chive, and carrot in a light vinaigrette.

Back to that bleu cheesesteak- Wow- tender pieces of beef, meaty chunks of portobello, just enough pepperoncini and sweet grilled onions, and bleu cheese sauce all over salivating out of the grilled bread.

I never realized how perfect Tamarind Jarritos could go with a bleu cheesesteak.  Until now.

100% Dishcrawl worthy.

You know a place cares about their business when the managers take great care in taking care of their patrons.  That is exactly what we experienced for the Sacramento Dishcrawl!  Glenn, one of the partners as well as all of the chefs were so accommodating!

First out were the zucchini chips.  Perfectly golden brown and sliced thin (it's an art to master the mandoline).

Then, a spring pea risotto littered with savoury bacon pieces.  The bright green of the risotto resembled a grassy field, as the rice was done just right and the bits of salt brought energy to the dish.

A little surprise came out for us dishcrawlers (who doesn't LOVE surprises?)  It was savoury parmesan palmiers that were to die for!  I'd come back just for these- a must try!

Fabulous ambiance and a great back room for larger events.  The chefs will put a smile on your face. ;)

An amuse of oysters done three ways.  The first, in a hush puppy form.  Hot, fried oyster bursting with juice from the sea.  The second, a BBQ oyster, smothered in sweet, tangy sauce.  The third, an interpretation of the classic rockefeller, en pointe.

Kale chips light as air, a mac 'n cheese bar full of gourmet delicacies such as lobster, shrimp, caramelized onions, manchego cheese, truffle oil, and the list goes on.

Tender ahi tuna seared with salt and pepper for a great savoury crust.

Cauliflower gratinee light as air, as if whipped right on your plate.

Tender rainbow beets tossed in a light dressing over a bed of greens.

Chef Johnny Jantz was impeccable in his service and witty.

Dishcrawl approved, for sure. ;)

Sham and Jay are the owners.  Jay is the Chef and goes by Chef Jay.  Sham is wonderful.  They have all their old world recipes from their mother, who came to visit from Morocco last time I was there.  I'm not sure if she's still there.  They are wonderfully cordial and people loved their food on the SJ Dishcrawl.

Meeting great people is one of the best things about the business.  These two have their heart and soul in the restaurant.

Their chicken briwatt and shrimp pil-pil is awesome.
