Had the Chicken and Dumpling soup which didn't really taste homemade. It was hearty, though. I wished it came with real dumplings instead of sheets of pasta. The Fried Chicken was good-- it was juicy and had flavor all the way through. However, it's quite pricey at $14. You get a smallish piece of breast with 3 tablespoons of unmashed potatoes. You do get pickles and honey butter with a tiny piece of biscuit (per person) on the house. Our server talked us into getting a side to share. We decided on the Three-Cheese Mac n Cheese that came in a size of a small ramekin and sold for $5. It was a rip-off. It was creamy but super bland that I couldn't taste any cheese flavor at all.
There's a dessert table that greets you on your way in. The desserts look delectable. I'm not a huge dessert fan but had to try the 12 Layer Red Velvet Cake because it looked impressive on picture. It was good, not too sweet, and the layers had cream cheese frosting in between. But what was really good was the Banana Pudding Pie. The crust was like caramelized wafer and it's topped with fresh Chantilly cream. It was so good!
Service is still very spotty and the kitchen is very slow. I'm sure it'll improve in the new couple of weeks. Overall, a pricey meal in a nice setting.
