Decent/cheap sushi, although there are better places you could go.

They have lots of crazy rolls, so you're sure to find something you'll like.

The food was great, albeit quite heavy (but that goes along with food from the Emilia-Romagna region apparently.

We went on a Thursday evening and it was very crowded, so definitely make a reservation. The service was good and everything was very reasonably priced, I also enjoyed the wine selection quite a bit.

I don't think I'd return, unless someone else suggested it, just because it's not the kind of place you need to return to on multiple occasions (although I wouldn't be oppose to going back).

Not too much else to say here, you get the point.

Ost Cafe is what a coffee shop should be: great coffee, good atmosphere, nice staff, convenient hours.

I like that I can stop by here for a cup of coffee in the morning, after dinner, or while sitting down with my iPad to catch up on some articles.

I won't ramble on, but they definitely get 5 stars in my book.

(Also, the chocolate chip cookie sandwiches with chocolate or Nutella or whatever that is in between are great!)

I'm not a huge fan of this neighborhood, so it takes a lot to get me this far east, but The Summit Bar does the trick. It's cute, fairly low-key (at least on the weeknight I went), and the drinks are good.

I would definitely recommend this spot to friends if they're in the area.

I went here on a random Friday night during the summer, and it was obscenely crowded. The cocktails were good, and the little bit of food we ordered was fine too.

I wouldn't say this place is great, or anywhere that you want to venture too far to, but it's definitely an alright place to stop by every once in a while. Also, our server was REALLY slow and forgot to bring me my drink twice, which never leaves me with the best impression of a place....

Do like giant doughnut pillows used as wall art?

If you said yes then you'll surely like this place.

Aside from that, I like the actual doughnuts too. My favorite is probably the peanut butter and jelly one, which isn't actually that peanut-y, other than the sprinkling of chopped peanuts on top, but is entirely awesome anyways. The yeast donuts are larger (and lighter) than the cake ones, which are heavier and smaller. I'd recommend the carrot cake doughnut, and the blackout, and would advise you to stay away from the oatmeal variety, which was a big "ehhh."

The coffee is alright too, and the bathroom looks like a miniature discotheque.

Pretty standard falafel, nothing too special.

I honestly just went because of the discount for Columbia students, and 'cause I was mildly in the mood for falafel. Nothing too special, but better than Maoz (I HATE Maoz).

I had grilled cheese here, it was fine, but I was sick the next day.

Now, my acute gastrointestinal illness may have been a coincidence, or from something else I ate, I don't really know... Let me just tell you, 5AM the next day was not a pretty hour...

So, whether or not I was sick from that grilled cheese is not certain, but I'm not taking any chances, so no, I wouldn't go back.

Cafe Frida

My friend and I read all these great reviews on Yelp, so we figured we'd check this place out for some casual Mexican... that was a mistake.

While the service was nice and quick, the food was BAD. I'm not sure why everyone else is raving, perhaps they aren't actually experienced with Mexican food at all, or maybe we went on an off-day, either way, I'm not returning. First of all, the chips seemed stale/not fresh at all (at least the salsa we ordered was good). Then I had some pork tacos as my main course... they were not pleasant, I barely ate them (trust me, I'm a big-eater). We left very disappointed, not good, not worth it, not even appealing decor.

I had to get a scan done here, so of course I was nervous, I hate medical procedures of all sorts. The technician was extremely nice and patient, which was quite a relief, I'm sure she could tell how anxious I was.

On another note, the waiting room was packed when I arrived, so my appointment took place a bit after my scheduled time, but that didn't bother me because everything else went smoothly and I always block out larger chunks of time for things like this... ya never know!
