The positive:
-good vintage stuff although it's slightly overpriced.
The negative:
-the new stuff isn't even worth looking at. it's so overpriced it's almost laughable.
-the security guard who makes circles around the store NON-STOP and makes every customer feel like a threat. i've never in my life felt so stalked in a store.
-pretentious hipster staff.
-awful shoe selection.
-they sell tedious hipster cds and movies that you can find for cheaper.

Very average. I'd go with a 2-star rating, but since they're new, I'll bump 'em up one in hopes that they make improvements. The sushi is average at best and the ambiance is well, kinda terrible. It has that American mall, trying to be hip decor feel. Just very stale overall.
The service is good but a bit too much. I know they're early on, but you don't need to stop by every two minutes and having every server in the place attend to me (not one came back twice) only upped the stale feel.
Boy do I miss Hanabi. They had wonderful sushi at a great price and TONS of character. And the music was always classic.

I gotta knock these fellas down to a two star simply because of the service. Oh, we know you're all hip and listen to Yo La Tengo and whatever Pitchfork screams in your ear, but c'mon. I've been in here tens of times and the pretentious, holier-than-thou looks from the people behind the counter is simply hilarious. I really liked this place, mostly for the atmosphere and good bagels, but I can't spend money here anymore. A simple hello or "you're welcome" would be nice. They just say nothing and chat amongst themselves about the latest crappy Klosterman disaster.

This place is alright. Kinda no frills (=good) with decent coffee and parms at reasonable prices. Service is average.

If someone called me and said: "Look, I'm in search of the worst bar in San Francisco," I would likely know exactly where to turn.

-Arrogant, dismissive and moronic bartenders
-The absolute worst clientele you could possibly imagine (frat boys galore)
-A jukebox that would fit a frat house, circa 1992
That about sums it up. You'd have to place a loaded revolver to my head to get me back into this dump.

Well priced records and a fairly good selection. You'll pay about $2-$5 less for a record here than you will at Amoeba.
The downside is the rude dude who mans the register. While browsing downstairs I saw him treat a man with used CDs to sell like he was a complete piece of trash. He then proceeded to trash just about everyone. Clearly a very insecure middle aged fella.
Due to his attitude and lack of respect for his customers, I won't be returning.
