*UPDATE*
They turned off the escalators at the entrance!! I think they read my review! haha
I've been coming to this location a lot lately *sticks out leg. Slaps and shakes thigh... with hands placed over head* (what's this pose called!?) and I've noticed a few things.
- Friendliest staff of every 24 hour location I've been to in SD.
- Weight room has about 8 Flat benches and about 5 incline benches.
- haha my homie Seth pointed this out. Old dudes put their towels over their necks when they hop out the shower.
1. Why do they do that?!
2. Why did he notice that!?!??
- If you prefer to workout in an empty gym... come here from 12-4pm on the weekends or on Friday evenings.
- People will strike up a convo if you're rockin' a sport shirt of any kind.
- Oh and the trio that takes spin class regularly... yeah... They're hot! *faints*
PL 24 you're my fave.
I just have 2 questions:
1. Why the hell is there a escalator in front of the entrance to this 24 hour fitness location? (shakes head).
http://www.coolfu...
2. Why the hell did I use it? dang I'm lazy! There's a staircase right beside it! ah well.
Well, no matter which way you choose to get up to the 2nd floor, you've got up off the couch to get your workout on so congrats!
I've been to a bunch of 24 hour fitness locations around San Diego and let me tell you some locations need an upgrade ASAP! One location down south looks like they use old school weights straight from a prison! Don't worry, you won't see that over here.
Actually, they do have old school weights machines from 1970's stored in one of the rooms in the back. Some machines you'll want to try out just for fun and ask "how the hell do I use this crap?". Seems like they don't throw away any equipment because they have room for it.
Midway location is my favorite because everything is spaced out, staff is really cool, and the parking isn't much of a issue here.

Royals has been a home away from home for me. Been going to this place for YEARS! (Like everyone else who has reviewed this place). I still love their food and crave it all the time. Cheap lunch specials/ Dinner specials with egg drop soup or hot and sour soup. OOOWWEEEE! My favorite is the Orange chicken. (special #8 with egg drop soup/ with 3 pieces of crab ragoon to be exact).
A friend of mine (Bolo) told me about the whole vermin incident while dining in at Royal Mandarin. He was likeeee..
Bolo: "Aye you hear about the vermin thingy"
Me: "Nah, what had had happened?"
(Takes a bite out of S&P Chicken wanggg)
Bolo: "Health inspector came in and found rodents or something"
Me: "Ewl, you serious"
(Looked at chicken wing)
Bolo: "Yeah"
Me: " So why are you still eating here?"
Bolo: "Because its soooo damn gooood!"
Me: (with a confused look on my face........ raised my chicken wing in the air) " HECK YEA! TO VERMIN!!!"
Bolo and I: "TO VERMINNNN!!"
