Let me preface this by saying that I lived in India so I'm picky. There aren't many South Asian restaurants in the Hampton Roads area, and Saffron has to try to accommodate a clientele that likes good ethnic food that has been somewhat Americanized. Saffron has an extensive, authentic menu, but has dulled the flavors a little bit to appease American taste buds. I asked for spicy and I got food that was mildly spiced but flavorful. My friend asked for mild and her food was bland. The service was slow and everything came out completely out of order. I wouldn't go here again, but I'd say it's at least worth going and forming an opinion for yourself.

A week before I moved to Virginia Beach, while I was still living in New York, I happened to meet a VB local who insisted within 5 minutes of meeting that he had to take me to his favorite sushi place in town. As a native New Yorker who is accustomed to only the freshest sushi, I was skeptical. But true to his word, a week later he took me to Yama. And I was amazed to find that the sushi was fresh, delicious, and REALLY REALLY good. My favorites are the Christmas Tree and the Super Mario roll . . . and they almost always give you a free roll on the house (often the Salad Roll--def my favorite). They have a lot of original rolls the don't have mayo or tempura too. And if you come on the weekend, sometimes you get dessert for free too.

This is the only place where I've ever ordered the sushi boat and it was definitely worth it.

Who cares if it's not authentic and everyone who works here is actually Chinese? This is by far the best sushi you will find in Virginia Beach.

Meh. Kanpai, Yama, and Zushi are all within 10 minutes of here and are all better. The service is fine but the tea was weak, the sushi was just okay, and the rice was actually overcooked. Not bad but not great either. Probably the weakest restaurant in the shopping center.

Hiding in a strip mall past Town Center is the KANPAI!! Sushi as fresh as you are--thats what the sign outside says and it's true. The fresh fish, friendly staff, and reasonable prices has easily made this my favorite sushi place near my house. Great original rolls with everything from traditional healthier rolls to the local favorites of fried/drenched with mayo. The Pink Cadillac Roll is sinful but melts in your mouth. Paired with a sake martini and you're all set!

Not all heroes wear capes. Daniel decided he was going to be my hero today.

Had a bit of a Fleet Week related catastrophe and my whites were completely trashed. Daniel took one look at it and told me to take it to the laundromat a few blocks away--who washed it, but they still weren't perfectly white. Daniel took it and fixed it himself right there on the spot and didn't charge me any of it. I usually go to Maysons but I will be bringing my dry cleaning here from now on. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I have had consistently good service from Mayson's. We have been using them as our local dry cleaner for years, but there have been two instances recently that I had to just give them major kudos for.

1. They tailored a skirt for me in less than 24 hours. When I asked them to have it ready the next day, they not only had it ready, but I called from work to inquire about it, and turned out it had already been delivered to my apartment building earlier.
2. I brought my summer whites in to be pressed at noon. To be available for pickup at 5:30.

Simply the best pizza in the history of the universe.
I grew up in NYC and went to college in Chicago. Nothing compares to Bocce's. It's like a hybrid between the best NY-style and best Chi-style, and there is something in the tomato sauce that I'm sure is illegal because it is that good. Every time we come to Buffalo, we get Bocce's pizza. We have even had their pizza's FedEx'd to us. In fact, I am in Manhattan right now, but I am eating Bocce's pizza. DOn't go anywhere else. THIS IS THE BEST PIZZA YOU WILL HAVE IN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE.

I will admit that I didn't come here looking to buy anything--but I also didn't come with a thrifty hand either (I'd just gotten paid!)

I ended up leaving with a GORGEOUS beaded sweater and 50s dress that have gotten nothing but compliments! Everything is in excellent condition, and I would certainly say you get what you pay for. I almost got a pair of cowboy boots too, but decided to pass.

They don't have a HUGE selection, but you will probably find at least one item that you like. The girls who worked there were very sweet, and didn't seem to mind that my friend's young son was running around exploring the store!

I will probably come back here next time I'm home! Prices are maybe 10-15% higher than they should be, but you DO get a high quality product.

LOVED my 90 Min deep tissue massage here with Carmen.

Came home on leave after a month of training feeling pretty broken, and the physical therapists back at work suggested I get a deep tissue massage, so I did. It's a few days later, and my actual injuries are obviously still hurting, but everything else feels great!

Carmen worked over every part of my body and the level of pressure was perfect. It hurt a little (it's supposed to if there's tension!), but it wasn't TOO much. She even massaged my head for a little bit!

The spa was clean and very relaxing. I'm not sure why everyone seems to  be confused by the locker room. I had no problem figuring out the combo thing, and even got to take a little nap in the "relaxation room" before my massage. The cost was actually much lower than many peer spas. I would come here again.

WHILE I had Comcast, I would have given them four stars. But since I cancelled 6 months ago, my experience has been so bad that I reported them to the Better Business Bureau.

From May 2007-June 2009, I was a loyal, happy, paying customer of Comcast. First it was for Triple play, then just for cable and internet. I called Comcast around June 11, 2009 to cancel my service, since I graduated from college on June 13 and left Chicago Sunday, June 15. Comcast said that since my service was terminating over a weekend, they couldn't come and pick up the cable/internet boxes themselves. They said they could send me envelopes to mail them back, but this wouldn't work because the envelopes would arrive after I left. So I agreed to have a friend who lived in Chicago drop them off for me. We assumed this would be a simple process. Wrong. Comcast's drop off center in Chicago is open 8 AM-6PM. This is when normal people with jobs are at work, which meant that my friend could never drop them off. So I called comcast to have them send her envelopes to mail the boxes back. They said they'd send her the envelopes. I gave them the correct name and address to send them. Instead of sending her the envelopes, they just sent me a collection notice for $200. I have now called comcast FIVE times, and now that is NOVEMBER, they have finally sent her the envelopes. The collection notice they sent me because of THEIR OWN INCOMPETENCE has now hit my credit report. What is more, every time I call comcast to try to resolve this issue, the agent either puts me on indefinite hold (the kind that eventually starts ringing and then tells you to hang up and try again), or straight up hangs up on me. This is horrible business. I would have used comcast again when I moved back into a comcast area, but if I am going to have this problem every time I move (which because of the nature of my job, is frequent) I will never be using them again.
