When I was a student at SJSU, i always went for "as you like it." Yummy pesto aoili, hummus..all the veg topping you want. The soups are always goodness in a bowl too. Now that I'm not at SJSU anymore, I do crave it but I am not willing to deal with the parking issue. last time I checked, they didn't take cards....lame!

When you go here as much as I have (grew up on it) you know what you are getting into. Its a chain but usually I leave satisfied. Broccoli Cheese soup...wonderful thick, cheesy, and flavorful! Fajitas...the best around. Beef with just onions no bell peppers (they ruin the seasoning big time). They have the ideal toppings and good ranch too! Homestyle fries...goodness too. Cheesteak sandwich...I like it better on pita...always good the next day too. Their chocolate shakes are thick and creamy, order extra sprinkles...its just better that way. They have an assortment of alcoholic beverages and it is suitable for little kiddos, a coloring packet to work on....actually got them far beyond my young years. They always have something new to try if you don't have standby favorites as I do.

Where do you go for a hangover cure when you've grown to label Denny's so passe? Or where do you go to be happily overwhelmed by choices for the morning, lunch or brunch meal? Cafe San Jose was a new found delight for me and my accomplice on NYD...pleasantly open on the first day of the year. I decided to test the place based on their omelets: Bacon, cheddar and mushroom. Delish, huge and hearty. The cheese is folded in rather than included in an egg type blanket. The hashbrowns were crispy on the outside, but mush in the center...not sure why. My friend got the veg omelet and was too pleased and satisfied. Good sourdough bread, blackberry jam at the table, just Tabasco though no pepperplant, good service and reasonable prices. Its cozy, local diner-ish, scrumptious-ness. I am looking forward to the banana nut pancakes and the SWEDISH Pancakes! Finally IHOP has some competition!
I was a newcomer and the servers let me know you can have as much toppings that fit in your cup....oooo, except, I didn't want toppings.
I got to try the pomegranate...unfortunately it is only a seasonal flavor...fresh, tart, and firm...not artificial tasting. But next time I come, it might not be there, boo!
the chocolate was scrumptious, decadent, really dark with an intense coca flavor.
-1 star because any other flavor besides tart is $1 extra....so odd. And, she left room for toppings even though I didn't want any!
There is even a play place but after eating here...I was too stuffed to play!

Why oh why did I choose to cure my craving of warm and salty here?? Well I did, and I don't have a lot of regrets but this experience I have learned from..never again!
Its ethnic fast food, what did I expect? Well the Lumpia is nothing to speak of and the burger...oh yuck! The best part...the pineapple (ordered) on the side. Just writing about this makes me cringe!
