I was in the mood to for a casual place but not really a bar but somewhere that had good casual food. my only experience at PJs before this had been in the WTF center for happy hour.

I was rather impressed with the food, since everything was cooked perfectly. We got an order of the mussels in a pot that were delicious to start with and I ordered the chili cheeseburger that was cooked to perfection as were the fries. My dinner companion ordered the special of the day which was the lobster roll and he said it was meaty and fresh. I believe its a full pound of lobster meat on that roll. Since it was friday we decided to splurge on the dessert and we ordered the Brownie a la mode.

This is one of those places you really have to be in the mood for, and I was.

Next time i want a good burger and fries I'll just head for PJs

I love their sushi happy hour. I walk by this place everyday on my way home but I've never stopped in, even though it sounds like a good deal. Met up with a friend after work and we walked by this place and we decided to go in.
This was a perfect after work treat $4 and $5 sushi rolls. I know this is a great deal because I've been to the Haru in Flatiron many times and i know the price regular price. I wasn't really in the mood to drink but they had good saki drinks deals.  I think the reason I never went in was because I never wanted to stuff my face alone but maybe
next time I won't be so shy.

Watch out spicy tuna I'll chew you up

I had a good time at this place but they really need to invest in cleaning the inside a bit. The bathrooms are gross, it smells like someone died in there. Honestly has anyone at this place ever heard of scrubbing bubbles! it works wonders. Any how, it was a big group of us about 13, we had one of the tables outside and we took advantage of the 97 cent beers from 11-12:37. Everything was fine and dandy until the very rude waitress told us they were out of MGD around midnight. Honestly if you are running a special that night how do you run out of the beer that's the special. Thank god this place was empty if not they probably would have run out at like 11:15. Usually if this happens it should be normal to give us another beer at the same price say a PBR or Miller light. Honestly its not about the price of the beer its the principle and the rude waitress.

Even after that unpleasant incident I had a great time with friends.

I give this place 3.5 stars

PS why can't we give half stars?

This little bar has a huge place in my heart. I find this to be one of my favorite bars in Manhattan to hang out with a small group of friends no more than 5. Its like sitting at someones living room and having great drinks. And don't forget the pizza on the weekdays from teh brick oven place hmmm

I decided to take some out of town friends to Nurse Bettie because I knew it would be a great place to have a few drinks and catch up. I have to say that the happy hour, that last until about 9 ( i think) was a great surprise. I was happy I was able to get a magic hat beer which I hadn't had a such a long time. We left as soon as it got a bit crowded because we had dinner reservations. But I still need to come and hangout here during primetime weekend hours. I'll be back!

This place has definitely moved up to one of my favorite bars in NYC.

Went there yesterday evening to meet a friend for drinks. The place is really small and quiet on the week days, but a great spot to have a convo and a few drinks.

We'll def coming back to this place another time.

Caffe Vialetto

5 star rating

I usually forget this place exists, since its kind of hidden but when my dad mentions it, I always feel an urge to go and have a wonderful dinner. The catch to this place is that they have a few everyday menu items but that they have a huge selection of daily specials. When I had dinner here last Friday I had the veal ravioli in white truffle sauce and it was amazing. The raviolis were tender yet al dente and the meat inside was like butter. For appetizer I had this lobster tempura cheese special. It was to DWIE (yes Dwie not die) for, It was perfectly cooked. And lets not forget about the warm Italian bread and the bruschetta that comes with it.
This place is small but its large at heart. Every time I've been here the dinning room is full. The wait staff here is excellent and are willing to go the extra mile. The ambiance here is great and everyone here comes to have a great meal and enjoy a few glasses of wine.

Miami International Airport

I just flew out of MIA this morning, and a few things have changed since I flew out last month. The new check in area for American is pretty nice and modern compared to the old check in counter. And you no longer have to navigate through hallways to get through security since the new security entrance is now open. I told you this place is slowly improving. This time around I found more restaurants and food options open and that was at 5:30am. Also the new Carreta by gate D40 is perfect.
4 stars for effort and the new AA terminal Check In

Can't wait to see whats new when I fly home for Christmas

I have to say that MIA improves every time I fly in and out of this place. 99% of the time I fly out of the AA terminal and this is a big improvement over what used to be here. Especially terminal B (was that the trailer), that was an embarrassment. The wide and tall Terminal makes it feel like a real international airport. Just wish they had a better variety of restaurants and bars in the terminal

Don't get me wrong there is still a lot of improvement that needs to be done to this place. Having to fly through LaGuardia this airport is nowhere as bad at that hell hole. At least there aren't bags screwed to the ceiling to catch water. Also don't forget the disaster that is Dulles airport. That place still looks like 1940, why do they still use those damn mobile lounges (not wifi).

Yelp's Spice Trade at the Mandarin Oriental

I wasn't that impressed with the event. When I lived in Miami I used to go to the Mandarin Happy hour on the "beach" a lot and I remember it being fun, but I forgot how annoying it is to have to walk in the sand. The food was good but not great, dumplings, grape leaves, hummus and sushi. What kept this event from getting 5 or even 4 stars was the fact that the cocktails available were not very appealing. The infused vodka bar in the middle wasn't very professional the bartender was shaking all the drinks with the same dirty shaker, what if someone had a blackberry allergy or something. Plus you ended up with a mushy fruity vodka drink. The touch vodka that was provided tasted like a cheap rum for some reason and it was not only me it was the people I was with that said the same thing. The only thing that I found safe to drink was the champagne.

Maybe I expected more since this event was being held at the Mandarin Oriental or maybe its my critical Manhattan taste.

Eos Restaurant

I decided to get some old friends together since i was in Miami and head to Eos for the all you can drink brunch that I had read so much about like this article http://allpurposedark.....  So, we get there only to find out that they no longer due unlimited mimosas, which already sucks because we were all excited about that. Now they have a menu that's $20 for an entree and a mimosa or a bloody mary. Four of us ordered the Mediterranean eggs benedict they were a bit weird and I really wish they had a traditional eggs benedict. Not only were all the eggs over cooked the home fries were cold and solid as a rock. Coming from NYC I know what a good brunch is suppose to be and this was not it. The restaurant is a bit awkward also. You have to navigate a labyrinth like hallway to get from the elevators to the dining room. Weird. I had high hopes for this place as there had been alot of good review. But it was just a huge disappointment. The only thing that saves this place from getting 1 star is that the waiter gave us each 2 free mimosas for our inconvenience.  This place has a lot of potential but it has lost me as a customer forever.

This used to be my grandparents neighborhood butcher. I remember coming here with my grandfather to get the freshly ground chorizo and as we waited for the butcher to prepare it, I would walk the aisle and look for the Maria cookies. The bakery here is also good with all those delicious pastelitos, yum.

This place is a piece of old Miami, I think my mom used to come here when she was a little girl.

Just be careful in the parking lot its a bit crazy and a lot of old people are driving in 50 MPH in their old caddys

Scotty's is a little piece of quiet heaven tucked away between the Chart House and city hall. Every time I would get an urge to vacation, i would just come and hang out at Scottys and enjoy their laid back Florida Keys atmosphere. The food here was always good from the conch fritter, to the burgers.
I love that this place is a hidden gem in the Grove.
I haven't been to Scotty's in awhile, maybe I'll stop by next weekend when I'm back in town.
