Crisp

Crisp is a great Mediterranean inspired lunch place. Fresh hummus, salads and pitas. I friend decided to introduce me to Crisp and boy am I glad. I decided to go with the platter rather than the pita. It was a container with 4 falafel balls, greek salad hummus and a pita. It was all deliciously presented in this little fancy take out container. Everything was separated so nothing got mixed on your walk back to your office. The hummus was incredible fresh as was the pita. The greek salad was dressed perfectly not too much dressing and not too little and the falafels were perfect.

writing this review is making me want stop by for lunch.

*Great place for vegeterians

City Sandwich

I have to say that I was a bit dissapointed with my experience at City Sandwich. I was excited to try the new sandwich shop in HK. I found it kind of weird that the staff was explaining the menu to everyone else except for me. Was it because I was extremely hungover from the night before ?! (lol) I decided to go with the James, a roast beef sandwich. I was not really happy with my sandwich for some reason I felt that somehting was lacking. The bread was tasty and crusty, the ingredients were rather tasty and you can tell they took time to make the sandwich, but I think I had like one slice of roast beef and one of cheese. I felt like i was eating just bread with a hint of roast beef. After finishing my sandwich I left rather unsatisfied and thought to myself that maybe I should have gone to Room Service for their $7 lunch special.

Sorry City Sandwich I really wanted to be a fan but I just couldn't.

I great wine bar in the village with great prices for bottles of wine. The space is very cozy and intimate with the fireplace in the middle of the bar. The wait staff here is amazingly friendly and help full. Great place to meet up for drinks and a friendly chat

So #1 rule when brunch here is make a reservation. #2 is
order the donuts! Fresh, delicious, warm donuts.

We arrived to brunch about 5 mins before our reservation and over heard that walk ins were waiting about an hour for a table. So glad that I love to plan in advance and had my reservation for about 2 weeks. We were seated in the upstairs section, lively and bright dinning area. My eyes quickly focuses on the donut brunch appetizer (comes with two coffees) they were amazing little donut holes with 3 dipping sauces, chocolate, vanilla rum and caramel. The mimosas here were pretty strong and so was the Pimm's Cup (my new fav drink). I decided to go with the Hangover Cure, which is a huge veggie and cheese omelette topped with beef chili and a homemade english muffin. Everything was amazingly delicious. My friends ordered the chicken and waffles and the crispy chicken salad.

The only issue I found here was that service was a bit slow, took them a while to bring us the drink, I know it was busy but I really hated waiting about 10 mins to get 1 drink. Other than that this is a great restaurant.

Ping Pong Dim Sum

Do I really need to say more its Dim Sum!. Apparently this is one of the more popular restaurants in DC and I can see why. Its the perfect ambience for getting together with a group of friends for a fun and delicious dinner.  I really liked how their menu was one of those that you pencil what you would like it makes it easier to keep track of what you order. The dumplings were amazing, spicy chicken, vegetable, pork shumi and pork buns. The only thing that i found to be a bit inconvienent was that each dish brought 3 instead of 4. Kind of an odd number.

The drinks here are pretty strong and big. I tried the black lava margarita which was pretty strong and tart. I also had the mojito in one of those tall boy glasses (it equals about 2.5 drinks)

Elite Event at the East Side Social Club!

This hands down has to be the best Yelp Elite event. Costumes, Cocktails and consumption. Any event that allows me to wear a bowtie is always a good event. From the moment I arrived I was greated with the endless flow of Moscow Mules. Those cocktail sure packed a punch, vodka and ginger beer need I say more. The food was amazing also, potato croquettes, tuna tartar, salmon mousse on pumpernickle toast and deep fried zucchinni.

The ESSC was the perfect venue for this prohibition style party made me feel like I was on the set of Boardwalk Empire.

My hat goes off to the yelp team for putting together an amazing event.

CG has become my new Sunday hang out from 4 - 7. They have daily happy specials at the bar $4 wine beer and $6 apps (wings, calamari) The vibe here is great, the bartenders are extremely friendly and the drinks are great.

The wings are some of the best I've had. Not buffalo but more of a smokey dry rub very flavorful and meaty.

Really High Speed rail line from the airport to 30th street station. High speed really. It was an easy and cheap fairly quick (20mins) connection from PHL to 30th St but please don't call it high speed i think we barely went over 30 mph.

A surf bar theme, yeah i know this could have horribly gone wrong but some how it worked out just fine. From the minute you walk in you don't feel like you need to push people to get to the bar, always a lot of personal space.

They have happy hour specials from 5 -7 $4 frozen mojitos. They also have some amazing short rib sliders.

Its not a place to hang out the entire night but always a great starter or topper.

*def a good place to meet up with friends
