Buffalo Exchange
Category: Used, Vintage & Consignment
Neighborhood: Ballard
While I didn't buy anything (once again) at this Buffalo Exchange location, it was definitely better than others I've been to. There was a good variety of nice, quality items and I had plenty of things to try on once I got into the dressing room.
I'll probably be back here sometime soon to take another look, but for now, this Buffalo Exchange becomes my highest rated location.
I had the vodka rosemary lemonade, which was very good. I thought it could have used just a tiny bit more rosemary flavor, but I otherwise quite enjoyed it. For dinner, I had the falafel, which was excellent! It was also gigantic and I had trouble even finishing it. So needless to say, portions sizes are quite good here. My friend had the lamb burger, which she really liked. We both split the frites, which tasted great with the garlic aioli.
The prices at happy hour are fantastic, especially considering the portion size. Cocktail prices are, in my opinion, extremely high, but the rosemary lemonade was worth it and I would have it again.
I will definitely come back here, but as my wallet often dictates my dinner options, it will most likely be for happy hour again. Though that is fine with me!

My old physician, Dr. White, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. Wait times were usually very short and the waiting room was filled with entertaining magazines for the times when you might have to wait just a little bit longer.
I love how you can go to your appointment, get treated, and get your prescription all in one trip. I miss being able to simple go downstairs to get my prescriptions, whereas now I have to travel to a nearby pharmacy.
I miss you, Group Health!

This place is....okay.
Food was decent and I'd eat there again if I had to. Though if I'm going to go to a place like this...I'd rather eat the food at Peso's. And if I'm just wanting to eat Mexican, I'm not going to go to either place.
Service was generally friendly and quick...
The place was packed when we were there, but we somehow managed to get a booth, which was awesome. I don't know how we did it though...it was crammed person to person in there with little wiggle room. Everyone was like two feet taller than me and it was odd to walk through the cramped dining area to our table.
Just like Peso's...the people inside are kind of jerky. Plus, it's far too "trendy" for someone like me, which is maybe why I don't feel like I fit in here. Most people are at least 30, which ends up making me feel like a child (I'm 23).
There is far FAR better Mexican food in the area, so if you're there for the food...you clearly need to branch out a little.

Sitting at the bar gave us better service than sitting at a table, though you'd think I wouldn't need to ask for more water when the bartender can clearly see I need some...?
Overall I've decided I quite like this little place. Hit it up at the right time of night and you'll get quick service and an awesome sandwich.

Pretty good sandwiches. Solid fries. The amount of vegetarian sandwiches I had to choose from was awesome, to say the least!
Service is kind of hit or miss. Our waitress was quite slow, but relatively friendly.
I like the interior - the decorations were pretty cool. The inside isn't big, so if you're going there for dinner, be prepared to wait for a little while. If you're on the early side of dinnertime, however, you should be able to snag a table. FYI - it's dark in there in the evening: very little lighting. Something to keep in mind if you have an issue with that.
My friend and I went here for breakfast before we left for the airport for our flight home. We waited a really long time for glasses of water and finally had to track down another waitress in order to get them. Prices are quite high (MUCH higher than IHOPs in Seattle), though that is possibly because it's near Disneyland? The food was marginal at best, though hit the spot in a way that only IHOP food can. Service was rather slow overall and it seemed like we waited for our food forever!
My guess is that I'll probably be back to this location next time I visit the Disneyland area, but I won't actively seek it out. Hopefully the service is better next time.
So this year (and her birthday) rolls around and we stroll into Blue Bayou with our months-in-advance reservations and anticipation in the air. The first disappointment came with where we were seated. While we didn't request a particular table, we were nowhere near the water and in fact, really not that far into the restaurant. Considering we had made reservations months prior, it would have been nice if we had at least been a little closer to the middle of the dining area (especially as it's clear that the closer you get to the water, the better you experience the full effect of eating at this gorgeous restaurant).
Our waiter was nice enough. Very friendly and prompt. The noise level of the restaurant was surprisingly low considering its proximity to the Pirates ride. The lighting was just as dream-like as we had always thought. However, the A/C continued to blow and blow and blow freezing cold air as we sat there. It was only about 75 degrees outside - the constant A/C was unnecessary and had me shivering.
We had already seen the menu online, so we knew what to expect when it came to selections and pricing. I mistakenly selected the Tesoro Island Chicken, which I *think* could have been delicious had it not been dry as a bone and flavorless. The au jus that accompanied the chicken was very tasty, but there wasn't near enough to spread onto the chicken to try to give it a better overall flavor. The "Blue Bayou" potatoes that accompanied the dish were decent, although it was painfully obvious that there was a gigantic mass-produced pan of them back in the kitchen, waiting to be added to people's plates. The vegetables were fine, cooked well. The salad I ate prior to the entree shockingly contained chunks of ham, which I could not see in the light of the room as I ate and which were only present, I presume, as the menu referred to the salad as being "Cajun-inspired." I had to carefully pick out each piece of ham and I wish I had known ahead of time that ham would be included with the salad as I would have asked to have it removed. Vegetarians should definitely take note of this, as the other option is a gumbo with meat. Otherwise the salad was fine. The dressing was rather tasty, however. My friend was quite disappointed in her Filet Mignon, as well as the potatoes.
The one nice addition to the meal was the birthday chocolate mousse (more like pudding) that she received following our entrees.
For the price tag ($78 for two people for dinner), this restaurant is clearly not worth it. The Blue Bayou is not fine dining in any sense of the word, except maybe that it is the "fanciest" dining option available at Disneyland. The food was a total letdown and, while the ambiance is nice, you can't truly experience it unless you are seated much closer to the water. I am glad I tried Blue Bayou, but I will not return on future visits. I would much rather dine at Cafe Orleans across the street, where the prices are $10-20 dollars lower and, while the service isn't as great as Blue Bayou, the food is much tastier.

Super Shuttle Airport Group
Category: Airport Shuttles
Pros:
- Prices are fair and easily cheaper than a taxi
- Drivers show up on time (or even early) to pick you up
- Easy to find within the airport
Cons:
- The way the deliver people to their hotels is a little odd. It sort of sucked being the first people on the shuttle, but the next to last (of four groups) to be dropped off
Well recommended and we will be sure to use them next time we are in town to visit Disneyland!
Except...the place was COMPLETELY dead. We were not interested in ANY of the stores and it appeared that there were tons of places that had not even opened for business yet. We wandered this odd ghost town-like shopping mall completely baffled. We went into a few stores. I bought a $10 t-shirt, though was shocked to find anything at all.
It seems like they built this place with some great thoughts in mind, but...then the economy tanked and it just floundered. Considering we were there mid-afternoon on a Saturday (AND the fact that it's so very close to Disneyland), it's very clear this place is failing miserably. How is it even still in business? I'm at a lost how these businesses can continue to stay open (though a lot of them have clearly already closed).

Love how tiny it is and how close you can get to some awesome bands. The space is a little awkward (particularly the upstairs area) and it is kind of difficult for us short people to see, but as long as you get up close to the front, you're fine. Ticket prices were cheap, cheap, cheap. Bonus that people actually dance at this venue (although hello, it was Electric Six - people SHOULD dance!) and bonus that there was enough room to do so. The sound is great (though earplugs are a must!) and the staff is friendly.
I will be back here! :)
