I had to make a trip here to check out the brewery, since I'm a Bud gal!
The tour was great, and the point of awesomeness was seeing the gorgeous Clydesdales and even the adorable Dalmatian! (Isn't his name Spot?)
Anyway, it was cool to see what is involved with the brewing process, and of course, the light at the end of the tunnel, a free "sample" of 2 beers of your choice! awesome!!

Scottrade Center

I really loved the inside of the Scottrade Center. Seating was awesome, a lot of variety of food options, and everyone was so friendly! Fans from the Lou didn't even make fun of all the Hawks fans that started to tease about their "penalty dance."
I had club level seating which included food and beer, but I have to say, it was cool being able to go to the Blue Note Lounge before the game to check out a different view of the stadium (I may have a hockey addiction), and got to drink/eat there for free too!).
As long as the Hawks play the Blues on a weekend, I'll be back down for sure for some fun!
PS--Great Game Hawks! :-)
So you want to learn Sign Language?
That's right. You've been secretly been trying to figure out what the interpreters are saying during those big conferences. Your eyes are staring, mystified by how fast the interpreter's hands are moving...
Bid on my date and you'll know it all! Well, not really, but I guarantee that you'll recognize at least ONE sign that the interpreter uses!
This date is not your "traditional" classroom learning experience. NO sir! This is what I call and "experiential learning environment." That's right. We're taking this to the streets!
Maybe you're into art, we'll head over to the Art Institute, perhaps sports is more your thing. If so, we'll catch a game either on TV, or in person depending on ticket availability. Maybe you just want to hang out in a bar, drink beer, and eat some grub. That's do-able too!
During our afternoon (hey, if it's super fun, maybe it will lead to a night of fun too!) together, I'm turning my voice off, and it's all ASL out of my hands. I prefer this method of exposure as it forces concentration, and more of an immersion learning style. (I'll even ask my Deafies to join us if they're around!) Also, there will be plenty of time for question and answer sessions about Deaf Culture, Deafness, or just questions about the American with Disabilities Act. It's all about awareness, yo!
This can be a group date, or a one-on-on session.
Here's what I'm offering:
1. An afternoon of ASL immersion. No voices (don't worry I'll correct you, and I won't be quiet ALL afternoon). This means no hand outs, no classroom activities, just you, your brain, and your hands.
2. If it's a one-on-one date: Admission to location (with in reason, meaning under 40 dollars), lunch and drinks (again within reason, please remember I work for a non-profit!)
3. If it's a group date(up to 4): I'll include a pizza lunch, and first round is on me. Everyone else is responsible for other incidentals such as a ticket or admission to said venue, or continued drinking...
4. So much fun, you won't know what to do with yourself!
5. We will pick an afternoon (either Saturday or Sunday)

Chicago Wolves

That being said, I have to say, I can honestly admit, I was at the first ever Wolves game back in 1994 with my parents and my teenage entourage. I remember the excitement, the fireworks, and of course, the Howling!!
I went here last night with some old friends last night, all in which have played hockey at some point. Yes, we all share the love for some cold steel on ice!
A lot has changed since that '94 season, and I'd have to say, this is a great place for a family to take young kids to come watch a hockey game, and introduce them to all the awesomeness that can be had!
There aren't all the "TV time outs" as experienced at Hawks games, and the die hard fans are just that...die hard.
Very family friendly, and super affordable. Only thing that isn't great is the food by Aramark. Ick.

This specific location is always crowded, so be careful if you're trying to park your car in the tiny lot.
Service is lacking, but I can't blame the servers, as there weren't enough servers on the floor (I blame management).
All in all, I'll be back!

I have to say, I was a little nervous coming here, as I've heard horror stories about the line, and the lack of seating that's not available here. So, going into this experience I was "taking it to go."
There was hardly a line at 3:30, but the restaurant was still crowded, and plenty of people were coming in and out. I ordered the Pepito and of course, the chips and salsa (they might be an addiction). Waited for close to 5 minutes (not bad considering), and headed over to the redline train.
Hopped on, and then I heard "What smells so good?" and then "It smells like awesomeness!" So, I kinda thought, well, if it smells THIS good on the redline, it's gotta taste even better. At this point of the 20 minute trip home, my mouth is salivating...really. I even thought about bustin open the container of awesomeness and plunging into my sandwich, even if that meant a fight may break out from wrestling for the rights to eat this sandwich!
Got home, and WOW!!! It was even better than it smelled! Made me wish that I ordered two more sandwiches! Chips and salsa were equally as good. (I may be addicted to the tomatillo salsa--wow!)
I'll be back for sure!
After hearing all about the hype of 5 Guys, I decided to check it out for myself. I came here on a Wednesday night, about 6ish, and there was really no wait.
Order the junior cheeseburger, with a order of fries. Got my number, got my coke (cause, let's face it, burger+fries=have to get a coke!), and waited for my number to be called.
Cheeseburger was good, and the fries were enough to feed an army!! wow!!
Why the 3-star review, I think it's just a little too pricey. Although, it is worth it being everything is made fresh, from fresh ingredients.
I'll be back, just not on a regular basis.
PS--IF YOU HAVE A PEANUT ALLERGY, DO NOT GO HERE! Fries are cooked in peanut oil, and people are eating peanuts throughout the restaurant. Shells are all over....just a friendly warning!
Anyway, the studio was very small, quaint and the perfect size for a beginner like me. I too, took a class here with Yelp's favorite Yogi, Jerry M (who did a fantastic job teaching and helping this klutz figuring out what to do!).
Tea is always offered, and the entire staff here is just so darn sweet, and helpful!
This is the most perfect location for a newbie to get their Yoga on!
