Went to get my nails done, and was totally ignored for like 10 minutes. Ended up walking out and going back to Michelles. At least I got acknowledged there, and taken care of right away. Perhaps I need to rewrite my review for that place. They have cut back on talking to each other in a language I don't understand. I would never return to Diva.

Well, much to my dissappointment yet another coffee shop closed. I guess the new staffs, inattention to detail, or finances finally sunk them. It's a shame, was a nice place to hang.

First Cup has a relaxed, hang out atmosphere it has, big comfy couches and chairs, free Wi fi, and fresh food. I especially like the porch on nice days. The Hummus and veggie platter was enough for a whole lunch. The coffee most of the time is good. However, last time I was in there they had new staff, and he somehow gave me coffee full of coffee grounds. The most recent time I was in there, two staff members were bitching that is was so busy, they had no time to study, yada, yada yada. I hope this isn't a repeat of the Tim Hortons debacle. Note to coffee houses, hire staff that actually care, and don't talk about their personal lives so loud the clientele have to listen to it. I have had 2 bad experiences in there lately, and had chalked it up to new staff. Three strikes with me however and your out.

Roosevelts Billiard Bar & Grill

I was sick of just having dinner with my friend then going home. I wanted to hang out and laugh. We chose to do this at Roosevelts. The food and service was great, but the bloody mary's were waaaaay to hot. I couldn't even finish mine. I don't know what mix they use, but it sucks. The pool after dinner was awesome, and all in all it was a great girls night out.

I like the homey, comfy feel of this place. It was packed out on Sunday about 12N, but still we got right in. The waitress was friendly, and even loved my tattoos. She made us feel right at home. I got a chefs salad, and Vegetable soup, and my husband a egg, hashbrown combo. My salad was loaded, and everything was fresh, not a brown, wilted leaf in sight. The soup was chock full of big pieces of vegetables, and cabbage in a tomato base, every bit as good as a soup I would make myself. The service was prompt, and attentive. I really enjoyed my experience here, it was a nice way to spend an hour before the library opened.

Ram's Horn of Livonia

Update - 10/29/2009

Well I must say, after writing a well worded e mail to Rams Horn of Livonia, we got a free meal, and great service. They really bent over backwards to make amends for raw turkey. They are back on my fan list for now, perhaps they had a bad day. I was impressed once we got to the manager how she did her best to try to make amends. It was the staffs attitude I had a problem with, and it appeared on this visit to have improved. Yay.

Hubby took me out to dinner tonight to Ram's Horn of Livonia. We have been there many times over the years for their turkey dinner. When we got it this night however, the turkey on both our plates were raw, very pink, bleh. We called our waitress over who apologized, and when we got our dinners back a second time, mine still was pink. First and last time we go there, we didn't even get offered money off our dinner. Kinda ruined our evening. We won't be back.

It may not be fair to review this, but I'm going to review it anyways. I work in this dr.'s office. Dr. Perkins reminds me of the old country dr. He has a double degree, he is a naturopath, and a Chiropractor. He really spends time with each patient, and uses all his skills to get to a solution. His staff is kind a knowledgeable. If you are sick of the run around of the medical field, or just want a fabulous caring dr. This is the one to go to.

Bellis Spa

I have been to Bellis Spa a number of times since they opened. After being on their e mail list, I got a coupon for 100 minutes of hot stone, and reflexology, 60 minutes of swedish massage, and a facial for only $139.99! I was ecstatic. I am a massage therapist, and often barter for my massages, but to get this much massage at this price was to much to pass up. I set aside 1/2 day, and made my appointment. The hot stone massage was fabulous, it actually got rid of the knots in my shoulders and neck, and the 2 hours or so of massage made me feel very blissful. Then I got the facial, they have this mini vacum that sucks the collagen up on your face, and decreases wrinkles. This is better than botox, and healthier. No drugs. I love the warm atmosphere, and when I get some more money to burn, I'm going back for another massage and facial.

Value Center Market

I am not a shopper. I am a CEO, so I delagate that horrible chore to my husband, who loves to shop. He clips coupons, and makes lists, it's a great hobby for him. When he does drag me the along, the only place I will consider is Value Center. They get you in and out fast, you don't stand in line forever, and my husband knows every checkout person there cause he is there everyday. It was a place of employment for my son when he was a young teen, and it's been a part of our family food gathering for over a decade. My husband says the prices are great, and he would know, he is one of those that know the prices of everything. I just put things in the cart, never look at the price, and get outta there. So looking for a good market? Try Value Center.

Plymouth Coffee Bean

I have been going to the been for at least 10 years. I was once known as the MoM of the bean,often talking to and getting to know the angsty youngsters in need of a middleaged womans advice. I recently went with my two daughters, and it was great. It was different than I remembered it, more yuppyish. But there were people on the porch playing chess, the guitar, and talking face to face. It was a great summer night, and we all had a great time. The bean is still my favorite coffee house of all time. I always seem to come back to the bean.

Michelles Nails

Michelles was the place I used to go to get my nails done. I love a good manicurist that will take their time, and do a great job. Their manicures last for at least 3 weeks. I have not had any of my gel nails pop off. I think why I am in the market for a new place is this; I really get offended, when a nail technician talks on the phone, while doing my nails, or to other technicians in a foriegn language as though I am not even there. I find that unprofessional and rude. I am in the market for a new place, that will make me feel welcome, will not sit and talk in a foriegn tongue, making me wonder are they talking about me, since they obviously are not speaking to each other in english, and I wouldn't know if they were talking about me or not. Am I the only one this bothers? I think not. So Michelles is off my list of good places to go.
