I have had quite a few dinners and lunches at Luigis.  I love the decor, the food is earthy, and satisfying.  Comfortable is how I would describe Luigis.  I loved having dinner out on the patio with my friends.  Wine, Italian Cuisine, and a warm summer evening, it was perfect.  Service was wonderful as well.  I am a fan.

Tim Hortons in Farmington Hills on 12 mile used to be my favorite place for a quick pick me up in the middle of the day.  Last year that started to change.  A new staff has replaced the old, and these people have the most unprofessional demeanor,  I have seen in a long time.  They talk about their personal life nonstop, and usually in such a loud voice, everyone in the place gets to hear about the latest date, or prom dress adventure.  I have even heard obsenities, loud laughing, and even dancing in the dining room. Their total disregard of the fact we are there to relax, have coffee, and not, I repeat NOT hear of their personal life,seems to have escaped their notice.  Service is bad, and the place has gone downhill.  I have started going to the one in Livonia instead.

First Cup has a relaxed, hang out atmosphere it has,  big comfy couches and chairs, free Wi fi, and fresh food.  I especially like the porch on nice days.  The Hummus and veggie platter was enough for a whole lunch.  The coffee most of the time is good.  However, last time I was in there they had new staff, and he somehow gave me coffee full of coffee grounds. The most recent time I was in there, two staff members were bitching that is was so busy, they had no time to study, yada, yada yada.  I hope this isn't a repeat of the Tim Hortons debacle.  Note to coffee houses, hire staff that actually care, and don't talk about their personal lives so loud the clientele have to listen to it.    I have had 2 bad experiences in there lately, and had chalked it up to new staff.  Three strikes with me however and your out.

Hubby took me out to dinner tonight to Ram's Horn of Livonia.  We have been there many times over the years for their turkey dinner.  When we got it this night however, the turkey on both our plates were raw, very pink, bleh.  We called our waitress over who apologized, and when we got our dinners back a second time, mine still was pink.  First and last time we go there, we didn't even get offered money off our dinner.  Kinda ruined our evening. We won't be back.
